I find this quote useful to everyday life because sometimes you can never tell who your real friends are and who are pretending so they won’t hurt your feelings. This quote basically means if someone is being nice and accepting everyone who comes in their path, they are probably not looking for a real friend, they are just looking for a good time. On the other hand, if someone gets to know a person and learn more about them before they just put themselves out there, they are most likely looking for a friend. Personally, I would make sure I could trust someone before considering them a real friend.

How many times have you ever been scared to do something, and you were unable to do it, because you couldn't stop thinking of the consequences? I used to be this way, and before I knew it, I had missed out on so many things most of my friends had done. This quote is a quote I live by now. It's taught me to not think about what may happen in the future, but to live in the present. How much can you say you've done if all you do is worry about the consequences? We only have one life, and this game of life should be played til the end, until the very last home run has been made. Lets take for example a guy wanted to ask a girl out. Then after thinking about it he gets scared and decides not to. Not realizing that the girl might like him and might have said yes. In time she will move on and find someone else while he is still wondering about what could have been. People can take this quote however they want to. To me I believe everyone should live by this quote and never be scared enough to do something you want to do.

Mama Says

As a child I thought that the mommy handbook was a real thing because my mom spoke of it so often. For example, if she was doing my hair and pulled too tightly, I would complain. Her reply was to tell me that all moms were requried to pull their daughter's hair especially while making ponytails. I never knew how to reply, so I just let her finish pulling my hair. Another time this phrase came up was when I wanted to do something, and she would not let me. Her comment would always be, "Moms are supposed to do things that kids do not like." What was I supposed to say to that? Now that I am older, I know that the handbook is just something she made up, but I still hear the phrase every few days. The mommy handbook was a way for my mom to show me that we were not going to agree on everything. As I continue to get older, the handbook phrase is used jokingly now because we still do not see eye to eye. When she says it, I glare, then smile, knowing that the mommy handbook will be something that I will use on my own children one day. Thank goodness there was not a daddy handbook also!

This quote has a very simple meaning. It means that if you see something you want to do and truly believe that you can do it, then you will be able to achieve your goal. Also that if you do not believe you can accomplish the goal that you are striving for then you will not be able to achieve it. If you are trying something and you don't think you can accomplish it then there is absolutely no point in trying.

I am not really sure who the original author of this quote is. I know that Les Miles is the person that I associate with it though. Whenever Les Miles became a coach at LSU he had it painted on the locker room wall. So before every football game all of his players would look up at that wall. They would think about what they wanted to achieve in the next four quarters. They would make themselves truly believe in their goal. Four quarters after this they would return to that locker room and look at the quote and know that it had payed off.

Live Life To The Fullest

The guote "live life to the fullest," has strongly impacted my life over the years. This quote to me means that throughout your life you should live everyday like it is your last. This quote has helped me live life with a different point if view than before I heard it. After hearing it I began to appricaite more things in life that I would have uaully taken for granate. This quote is known by many poeple and has helped many people enjoy life. This quote relates to me because it has showed me that life is more than everyone thinks it is, meaning there so much more to life then just waking up and going through the day then going back to sleep. Life is waking up each day having at least one impact on someone's life. Life is going through the day making people happy and somethimes making people sad. Our lives are so valuable and most of us take for granate the concept of life. Life is presious and by living it to the fullest will make the journey worth it.

To me this quotes means that no matter what you can not take back something that happened. You need to watch your actions because you may regret them later and want to take them back but you can never take then back. Once you say something or do something it is out in the world forever. No matter what you do or how hard you try, you can never take it back. People may forgive and forget but it still happened. Also, once something is gone you will never get it back. If you loose someone or something, it is gone forever. You can try and try to get it back but it will never happen . This is just a simple fact of life that you have to learn one day. Yo should always watch your actions and words. Also, you should treat people well because one day you may need them and they may not be in your life anymore and you will regret it. This is what this quote means to me.

            I believe this quote says something about dedicated people in this world. It means that as long as you keep reaching for your goal, nothing can stop you. If people stay focused on what they want to do, than they can acheive it successfully. All they see is there prize, and they wont let anything stop them.
            It means a lot to me because I constantly have my eyes on the prize. Whether it is an academic prize, a sports prize, or just a life goal that I set for myself, I do everything I can to reach that goal. When I want to achieve something, I believe that nothing and no one can stand in my way.
            There are obstacles in life, but as long as you keep trying, they shouldn't stop you.

From reading this quote, “Inspire yourself to achieve your own goals and not to fulfill someone else’s,” means to inspire yourself by doing the unthinkable. Inspiring is to believe in one’s ability to accomplish a goal whether it is done physically or mentally. I think you should motivate yourself and fulfill things that interest you. To concentrate on goals you would like to achieve one day. You should set goals within your range, and shrive to reach them. My grandma always says, “Inspire, Set, and Achieve,” which basically means the same thing. I believe that if you set your set your mind to it you can do it. Because it is not about fulfilling someone else’s goals, it is about meeting your own goals. Making yourself happy is what you should be doing. If you want to be a lawyer, doctor, or anything, achieve that goal! There is no limit to what you can do when you measure your own success!

Dreams Put Into Actions

If someone really wanted to be famous, sure they would be nervous and scared to mess up, but if they never tried to preform, they would never know. Actors, actresses, and singers are not just born with the ability to get up in front of millions of people and do what they do like no one is watching. It takes practice, but if they want that dream enough, they would have to develop courage and understand that people are watching. In general, this quote can mean so many things. It can mean if a student want to be a doctor they should have the courage to preform operations and have good people skills. Martin Luther King Jr. did just say "I have a dream" to make people excited that an african american was not afraid to speak out to the white people. He said that because he wanted that to be put into action. He wanted the colored to be freed. Walt Disney did not just draw blueprints to the most popular theme park in America. He hired people and he built it. You have all the dreams you want, but unless you have the courage to put them into action, they are almost piontless.

The quote "It does not do well to dwell on dreams and forget to live." - Albus Dumbledore from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone holds a realistic meaning. To me it means that dwelling on an unrealistic dream that may never happen and forget to act about what is happening in reality. If we were to dwell on dreams that are so obviously impossible (like bringing the dead back to life) most would stop caring about everything and give up on what they can do because of something they cannot do. Allowing ourselves to linger on unrealistic dreams would also cause us to start confusing dreams and life therefore making us likely to do something only to be accomplished in a preposterous dream. We cannot let a dream rule our life. There would be a cease in development. This quote first came up when Harry Potter first found the mirror of Erised and was caught by Professor Dumbledore. Harry had been coming to the mirror every night for a week. He loved looking in this mirror because he could see his deceased parents. He knows he can not bring them back but he has come so often that it almost seems like he thinks he can bring them back. According to Dumbledore people have gone mad in front of this mirror because they could not reach their deepest desires that would stare back at them when they looked in the mirror. This quote, although from a fictional novel, may be more true than it seems. If we were to dwell on our dreams, what would really be accomplished?

In many ways this applies to me. Whether it's academics or volleyball I never want to give up. None of us ever strive to be second best or go out with a whimper. We all aspire to be the greatest. But to be the greatest you can't give up and if you don't give up nothing can stand in your way. No matter the trials and hardships you just have to play the game the best you can and if you lose you know you did your best. As long as we learn that we can't always win we will never let it get us down. We must hold our heads up high in the face of adversity and push forward with all of our might. Never giving up is not something you can just say to inspire people. You have to live by it as if it were your mission in life. My mission is to never give up. So long as I remember this I will never lose heart.

I absolutely love this quote. I feel as though he was in my mind when he said it, because it explains exactly how I feel about music. I would not be able to live without music. Music is my life. I know this will sound nerdy and cheesy, but if you ever ask me to hang out some time, I’ll probably be busy. Doing what, you ask? It could range to anything from marching practice, to a football game halftime show, to a LMEA festival. All three of those things have one thing in common-Music. I dedicate my everything to band, and don’t regret any of it. A band nerd, maybe, but who cares? Music runs through my veins. It is always on my mind, and I could talk about it for hours on end. Could you imagine a life without a single drop of music? Think about how boring your favorite action movie would be without music. Music is all around us. It has influenced a lot of our cultures and is another way to express one’s feelings. Music is life.

This quote in a sense is my base that I return to when my life is in turmoil. I believe strongly in Marilyn Monroe's stand on the idea that when good things fall apart, better things await. Many times in my own life, I have witnessed situations that I thought were perfect, fall apart, only to realize later the consequences of that "perfect" situation would have been very bad. Often times, we as humans wallow in self-pity when our lives dont go the way we want them to go, or dont go the way that we expected. Instead of wasting time feeling sorry for ourselves, we should all learn to pick ourselves up and move past it. We allow ourselves to be close minded when it comes to looking at certain situations, especially when we have already made our mind up that it is not what we want. Being open to new ideas and thoughts is how we grow as a human race. When Marilyn Monroe said, "People change so that you can learn to let go." she was implying that most good things dont last forever, and that no one is to blame for change, because it just a natural part of human nature. Why should we waste the small amount of time we have on this earth being unhappy? We should not worry over things that we cannot change. This applies especially to those people, myself included, who worry about things that are out of their control. All that is, is a waste of time and energy, and when it comes down to it, I honestly believe that what is meant to be, will be.

Hard work beats talent

To me it meant that no matter how much talent someone has and is willing to be slothful with it then a guy with little talent but having the will to work as hard as they can to enhance it. I try to live by this quote knowing many other people have far greater talent then me but I am willing to work hard to get to that next step. It is a hard quote to understand , to many people they may think just because this person has a lot of talent they think this person has arrived. For that person with all the talent doesn't know the guy that wasn't privileged to have all that talent is working twice as hard as the person with all talent. Day by day we look at that those people with all the talent but of in the distance there is someone working harder than that person who isn't working . Rose Bushes

This quote is not particularly about rose bushes and thorn bushes. The roses in this quote represent the positive things, while the thorns symbolize the negative things. A pessimistic person’s perspective would be “complaining because rose bushes have thorns,” hence focusing on the negative things. An optimistic perspective would be “rejoicing because thorn bushes have roses;” therefore, focusing on the positive things and looking on the bright side. People who are optimistic are prone to being more successful and happy with their lives. If a person views a bush as a thorn bush with roses, then he or she will view a glass of water as half full, rather than half empty. It is how a person chooses to look at the world.

To me, this quote means one should have an optimistic character rather than a pessimistic one. It implies that a person should have a positive outlook on the world and his or her personal life. People naturally have a tendency to look on the doubtful side of a scenario. The point that Lincoln is trying to make is that people have a choice. They can either view something in a negative way, or they can view the same thing positively. It is all a matter of choice, and how we decide to view things that happen to us and around us. We should “rejoice” and realize the significance of our blessings instead of “complaining” about the things that we do not have.

Anger is an Acid

To me this quote simply means that if you bottle up anger it is just going to hurt you a whole lot more than anyone else. I have heard this quote numerous times but I have never noticed how true it actually is. When I would get angry I would hold that anger in all day. Then later that day I would have absolutely no clue as to why I was still angry. I realized that if you hold on to your anger it just ruins your whole day.
When Mark Twain said anger is like an acid he was exactly right, because anger is acid. It is a vile mood that can only hurt the one holding on to it. Holding a grudge is never a healthy choice for your mood or opinions of someone, because if the person you are mad at forgives you but you do not forgive them, then the stress that comes with that anger is pointless. If you do not forgive people and you stay angry then it could threaten to ruin your mood, your relationships, and even your day. It is also true when Mark Twain said anger is like an acid because anger never leads to anything good in life. Anger could possibly hold you back in life making you miss out on the good thing instead of the bad things in life. So remember this quote next time you are angry and consider if it is really worth ruining your day or if you would rather move on and let go of that anger then possibly have a good day.

A Blind World

Behind every great quote is a simple person who said it. Mohandas (or Mahatma) Gandhi says here that an eye for an eye would only end in a blind world. If there is an evil deep committed, it is not best to try to right a wrong with yet another wrong. Injustice is part of everyday life, and will never end, but it can be subsided. Negative retaliation only duplicates the pain in our world. To me, this blog means that, even if someone wrongs me, I should always do right by the wrong perpetrated. Entrusting that I am forgiven by my Lord, I must believe that the offenders are as well, and that, while I am only human, I have no right to punish man or to judge them. That is a duty committed to God only. Taking an eye for an eye will just end up making the whole world blind. A blind world is not something anyone should want to live in, for then there would be no light, and without light, there is no God.

Seeing Is Not Believing

This quote means a great deal to me for many reasons. I find this quote so inspirational because sometimes you can doubt your faith because you cannot see God. This quote provides you with a whole new look on your faith. When I first heard this quote, I thought about the way you can so easily believe in something because it is "cool." Society teaches us to believe in something because it is acceptable to our peers. The more important things in life are those which people tend to push aside because in reality they are scared of it whether it be college, God or even the future. It reminds me of how easily people can be convinced of something if the right person says it. In the quote, there is an analogy between air and God. They play the same role. Air is around us even though you can't see it and God is present even if you can't see him. Instead of breathing air to live this life, we believe in God for eternal life. The quote changes logic by contradicting the thought that you must see something for it to be real.

Many people go through life without meaning in their actions. Personally, I feel that enduring through hardships and difficulties is what life is all about. It teaches us as humans how to adapt to our environments. In a way, the things that hurt us help us. Whenever knocked down, it is natural for us to get up, which in turn, makes us stronger. As you experience more and more challenges in life, you gain wisdom. You learn from your mistakes, and this teaches you not to correct them the next time again. Trial and error, as many would call it. Where eventually after failure there will be success. I always hear about people complaining about their little problems, and it is ridiculous, because eventually they will just have to face more problems in the future, problems that would be even worse. So suck it up, the only way to get through something is to face it head on, where you can confront your problems and solve them instead of hiding. Eventually it gets to a point where you can finally be carefree-- where you have been through it all, and nothing else can really effect you as it had before. In my opinion, this is what life is all about: just getting through it. No one knows what is in the afterlife, or if there even is one, so enjoy life while you can. In a nutshell, life is just an adventure that you create yourself, where the ending to the story is unknown, and probably never will be. Take it as you will, but your time spent on this earth is what you make of it. Life if your canvas and you are the artist behind it. You paint your dreams, your beliefs, your opinions, and you strive for them all. This would be a great place to say, "The sky is the limit", but even that is wrong. There are so many possibilities in the future; the sky is only the beginning.

Shoot for the Moon

This quote can be interpretted in many different ways. For me it simply means this: Try your best, because even if you do not succeed, you can still say that you tried, and that in itself is something to be proud of. I believe that this quote can be applied to almost every situation in life. For example, let's say that your goal is to get all straight A's on your report card. If you truely try your very best, then even if you do not get all A's like you want, your report card will still be much better than it would be if you had made the decision to do nothing all semester. In the end, you can still say that you tried your very best. No matter what you are doing, you should do it to your full potential. Don't just do something 90%, do it 100%. Like I said, this quote applies to many different situations, whether it be trying to get all A's, beating a rival football team, or even something as simple as writing a blog assignment. Even if you don't win that game, or get that A on that assignment, knowing that you worked to you'll full potential is a much better feeling than knowing that you did not try at all. You won't always miss the moon, but even if you do, don't be dicouraged. You shot for the moon and missed, but you still landed among the stars.

Make a Difference

What this quote means is that every action you do has an effect on someone. You to need to think about your actions and/or words before you say or do something. It could make the difference of someone being dead or alive. Most people, me included, do not think before they speak or before they act. That is something everybody needs to improve. Many times all it takes is one person to not think before they act and the results can be devastating. That is one thing you definitely don’t want on your record.
To me, this quote means that everything you do in life will have an effect on someone somewhere. When you think about it, single-handedly we could change someone’s life forever. For example, you go out and get drunk and decide to drive home. Due to your intoxication you drift into the other lane and crash into a mini-van carrying a mom and two kids. This accident leaves the mom paralyzed and the two kids are killed. The husband will now have to deal with the loss of his children and the necessities that are required for a paraplegic. It’s a lot for somebody to take in and deal with the stress involved in this situation. Next time take 10 seconds to think before speaking or acting. It could change someone’s life forever.

This quote means that no matter what happens, everything will be okay. This quote is important to me because everyone faces something challenging in their life time. I know for one thing is that I have had my own struggles in life and in the end, all seems to be okay. This quote says that everything will be alright. Which is saying that whether your obstacle will be big or small, it will be alright in the end. Throughout your life, you will hear people say that "it will be okay" to you. They are right too! These people tell you these things because they are speaking the truth. This quote is very meaningful because I have faced very many obstacles in my life. Although I have had these obstacles and problems, there is always a way to get through it. No matter what happens, there is always a way through something. So when worst comes to worst, just remember that every little thing will be alright.

This quote means a lot and it can be interpretedin many ways. To me though, this quote means that to dance with the feet isgreat. It means that you have rhythm, and you can follow along with choreography.It means that you can put moves with music and pull it off good enough for itto count. Dancing with the heart on another hand is a whole different rodeo. Dancingwith the heart means that you put emotion and feeling into the moves andchoreography your doing. You connect a feeling with your dancing and make otherpeople feel that same way as they watch you perform. It is to put your soulinto the dance and live in it for two minutes until you are done with yourperformance. Really putting on a show, and making sure the story that the dancingtells is believable. To draw people into you as you are expressing yourfeelings on a stage or at a studio. A real dancer dances from their heart atall times. That is what this quote says to me

This quote really stuck out to me when I read it. I say this because it is a bold statement. This quote is saying that no one lives a perfect life. But, before you start telling people how to live their lives, or how to fix their lives, you better make sure your life isn't going as bad or worse than theirs. Even if you have a little thing wrong with your life, then you better not criticize someone elses life. For instance, if your life isn't going good, and you have something wrong, you don't want someone with the same or even worse problem to come and tell you that you have problems. It isn't right because the other person doesn't have any room to talk.

Who prays for satan?

Mark Twain once said, " But who prays for satan? Who, in eighteen centries has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?" To me this quote means that no one ever cares about the source of a problem. People take pity on the ones that are effected by the sorce but never take the time to consider the center of the problem. For example, in a classroom setting there is always a child that will act up, and this causes others to laugh and join in on the misbehavior. The teacher atomatically classifies the problem child has doomed beyond help. When indeed he is the child that needs the most help, for he is the root of the problem. In my quote satan is the "problem" , the one that needs the most help. We are the people that throughout centeries have yet to recognize a solution to a problem that could have possibly been avoided. If we focus on the cause soon the effect can be changed also. Satan is an example of a being with the most problems but not a single friend to share them with. Not a single friend to go to for help. Have we not the common humanity to pray for the lost sinner?

         This quote Britney Spears said means to live life to the fullest and it may all work out in the end. This quote means a lot to me because I want to live my life to the fullest. This is my favorite quote compared to any other quote I have ever read. It makes me not to think about things and just do it because you only have one life to live. Everybody should live their lives as themselves. It means to me that if you don't like me for who I am then there is no point in wasting my time on you. If you live life as yourself and let nobody change that you will have a good life. She is saying that planning your life and expecting it to be a certain way is expecting something to change from you. Whenever your plan goes wrong you will be unhappy and upset with yourself in the end. This one life is all you have. Taking it one day at a time is the best thing you can do. In other words be yourself and hope it works out.

When you just have to "roll with the punches" that is how i think about this quote. Not everything is going to go the way you please, when that happends you just have to go with it. This quote means to me is that your never know how something is going to go, and it is never going to go as planned. everyday I live by this quote because I go into my day with an open mind and never trying to guess or tring to plan how my day is going to go. It is just going to be the way God planned it to be. That is why this quote is so meaning to me.

Doesn't this quote just make you wonder? Albert Einstein, the composer of this quote, made many mistakes, but he always tried again and ultimately succeeded. He never gave up or stopped believing. Without him, there would be no blogs! This quote also inspires me to keep moving forward and keep my perseverance. Even when I think I cannot take it anymore, I remind myself to keep pushing and look at the situation from a different angle. A new outlook always provides a new answer.

Being perfect may not always be the solution. Be who you are because mistakes are a part of life. Even Albert Einstein, one of the smartest humans ever to live, proclaims that it is alright to make mistakes. Every mistake is a life lesson. How are we supposed to learn from mistakes if we never make any?

In this quote Derek Jeter tells how I feel about baseball. Yes, there are going to be people that are better and more talented than you, that comes natural, but there is no way they can work harder than you. If you really want to be the best, nothing is stopping you from getting it. There is no possible way for somebody to limit how good you want to be. If you work harder than their natural talent, then you can be better than that talent. If you put in the effort and strive for that goal; to be the best, there is no stopping you. We all have natural talent, but there is no limit for how hard you work. If you practice every day and train hard you can reach your goal of success. Your going to face people all the time with more skill, but that doesn't mean they're better than you are. If you want it more than the other guy and you put the work in, you can be just as good or even better.

"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die tomorrow." This is a famous quote once said by James Dean. This quote means so much to me because it makes you think about a lot. His quote says so much in such a few words. Something I interpreted from this quote was that you should not put limits to yours dreams. Do not, not pursue something because you do not think you have time or that it is a mistake. You only live once and you are going to make mistakes somewhere along the road, so you cannot sit here and worry about what is a mistake or not. To be more general, I think this quote means to try and make your dreams as big as possible and never stop dreaming. The second portion of this quote says that you should live everyday to the fullest, try to do possibly everything you can do, and do it without regrets. Take advantage of what life offers you because there are many opporunites, take nothing for granted. I live my life through this quote.

Ability, Motivation, and Attitude

"Ability is what you are capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it." -Lou Holtz



This quote means different things to me. Many people have the natural ability to succeed at what they can do well. A person may have great ability and should succeed, but they do not. This comes down to a lack of motivation. In order to succeed, you must have more than just ability. The ability that you have does you no good if you are not motivated to use it the right way. Without motivation your ability is nothing all by itself. Your motivation usually reflects on your personality and how you act. Some people have both the ability and motivation to succeed. There are people that are good at what they do because they have ability and motivation. But those people could possibly be doing it for the wrong reasons because they have a bad attitude. To reach your full potential, you must have the right attitude. Even though your good at something it does not necessarily mean you are doing it the right way or for the right reasons. We have all seen a student or athlete with natural ability but they do not succeed because they do not have motivation or the right attitude towards what they are doing. It takes ability, motivation and the right attitude to be successful.

God's Light

"Darkness cannot put out the light. It can only make God brighter." This famous quote by an anonymous author means that no matter how bad things get, God's goodness always out- weighs the bad things that are happening. This is my favorite quote out of all other quotes that I have heard. It really makes you notice the good things in life. Instead of looking at the bad things in the good, try to look at the good things in the bad. By doing this you make a difference in the world. If you are going through a dark part in your life, use this quote to find God's light. Whoever wrote this quote must have been a pure Christian and a good samaritan. Perfection is key

PERFECTION IS KEY

As human beings we strive for perfection and to be on top. People think that if you only practice you will get better, but Vince Lombardi corrected them by stating: “Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect.” Lombardi is known for greatness; he took a losing 1-10 team and transformed them into a championship team three years in a row. Vince Lombardi wouldn’t accept failure or slackers. He pushed his players every practice and every game, no exceptions. He demanded 110% every time they touched the field. Although Lombardi’s state of mind is more football oriented, his quote is applicable to everyday life.

You can apply this quote to anything from sports, hobbies and even school work. For a student struggling in math, Lombardi’s quote is particularly relevant. The student needs to go beyond the minimum class work required and complete additional problems on his own. By practicing additional math problems, a struggling student can work toward achieving perfection. I intend to follow Lombardi’s quote in all the things I do. Altogether if you follow this in everything you do you can become a better person.
