Hero

Hero. When you think of a hero, Spiderman or Superman probably comes to mind. But do strong men with costumes really define what a hero is? My definition of a hero is an average person who sacrifices to help others. For example, policemen put themselves at risk to keep order in a city and to protect the people living there. Because they put other people's protection and safety before their own, I personally consider policemen to be heroes. Even a teacher can be a hero. Good teachers prepare lesson plans, make tests, and grade stacks of papers so that students have the opportunity to get an education and have a successful career when they graduate. You don't have to do something drastic to be someone's hero. In 7th grade, I went to a private school for the first time. I didn't know a single person, and I was extremely shy and nervous. On the first day of school, a girl went out of her way to introduce herself to me. We immediately became friends. Through her, I met more people, some of which are now my best friends. By just a small gesture, she made me feel accepted and kept me from being lonely. Anyone can be a hero, they just have to be willing to reach out to others.

  1. This is a great explanation of what a hero is. Anyone can be a hero; it is only if you are willing to help others. You explained and gave good examples of heros. You did a very good job on this topic.

  2. I think that your definition of a hero is one of the best. It makes a great deal of sence to me and I completly agree with you. For someone just to reach out to a person and befriend them can mean all the difference to someone elese, therefore making them their hero. This was really an excellent post.
