The Lamb
When I first heard that the assignment was on our hero, the first image that came to my mind was someone similar to Superman or Batman. Then a more serious image of a policeman, paramedic, or something of that sort came to mind. None of these options seemed to fit. A hero is someone who sacrificies themselves for others. A hero is not someone who looks out only for themselves or someone with selfish intentions at heart, but someone that looks to serve and has everyone's best interest at heart. A hero is someone who looks to give, regardless of what they gain in return. Those qualities make up a true hero. We can all agree that those standard's would be hard to live up to on a daily basis. Only one person met those standard's and surpassed them. Jesus Christ, who rose above adversity and faced it head on, was the one one did just that. He spread God's word regardless of what people thought or who judged him. He didn't do so to be spiteful and let everyone know they were going to hell. He did it for those who were lost, broken, and shaken down to their very core. He did it for the ones that needed to know that their sin's were forgiven and that someone was always there for them. He was truly perfect, and has helped countless amounts of people find hope and salvation. He layed his life down on the cross so our sin's would be forgiven. Regardless of what others think, Jesus is and always will be, my hero.
