Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
-Thomas Edison
I believe that this saying is one of the most important to ever cross a humans mouth. Many people in our grade, school, and community have had chances to better themselves and others, but they have not decided to due to the fact that they are lazy. What they do not understand is that hard work and determination is the path to success whether it be in school or anywhere else in the vast venture of life. Mr. Edison saw this as so few of us have now. He had envisioned something worth knowing. The true value of hard work. Hard work is an opportunity for anyone to learn something and get some sort of reward for it. If you do your best work in a school project or even just homework you will probably find yourself learning something and in this world knowledge is power. Wealth is not just handed down to you, you will have to work for it and work hard. A lot of people I know are afraid of hard work. Now I am not pointing any fingers, but through the years I have seen many who fear more than shading in "A" or "B". I remember a time in the eighth grade when my classmates would complain about book work or a research paper and the problem is things have not changed. I fear that this generation is too reliant on technology and have become lazy beyond belief or repair. Now do not get me wrong, hard work is what it is,but opportunities missed are our own fault.
Yes agree that many people pass up the oppurtunity to do things because people want to take shortcuts and the easy way out instead of doing the hard work and getting the reward.
