"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind."  I agree with this quote. An example from the novel that comes immediately to my mind is when Eddie, as a little boy, almost gets hit by a car. Without his knowledge he causes the death of a stranger. At that moment their lives became connected. Eddie’s job was to fix the carnival rides each day and, in a way, that gave people joy. His life, like all of ours, affected other people everyday. This quote really rang true to me because I have seen this happen when my brother was diagnosed with cancer. Countless people came together to help out my family while we were going through such an immensely hard time. My brother showed an amazing amount of character through his illness and even shared his story at many different events. We learned that people were touched by his situation and were praying for him as far away as England and Afghanistan. That experience really made me realize that no one can live a life without playing a role in someone else’s.
