A Hero Without Superpowers

When many hear the word "hero", they think of the classic comic book hero with superpowers, which is not wrong, but is not the right definition for this type of hero. This type of hero, to me, is a man or woman who is noble, courageous, and always does what is right. I imagine someone who is unselfish and very friendly. One person I think of as a hero is my dad. He may not be able to fly or defeat villains with laser vision, but he does his best at everything. It is the simple things he does that makes me believe this. He does things such as helping people when they are hurt, standing up for someone, and is always there for everyone. Though the thing I respect most of all is his will to sacrifice his life for his family and friends. Growing up, he always provided my sisters and I with the best advice and guidance. He taught us the best life lesson, never give up on anything we do. I was having a difficult time with grades, friends, and life in general one year. When I was just about ready to give up, he was right by my side, encouraging me to keep my head held high. So the point is, to be a hero, you do not have to have superpowers.
