“The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family.” –Thomas Jefferson
This quote has always meant a great deal to me. What Thomas Jefferson meant by it was that some of the happiest times of his life have been the times he has spent with his family. Like Thomas Jefferson I come from a large family. Nothing makes me happier than when we are all together. In the quote he is saying that although he has had many good times, none can compare to those with his family. I agree with him. Looking back at my life, I’ve had many good times and many fond memories. However my greatest memories are those in which I share with my family. It seems that no matter the situation, good or bad, I’m happiest and most myself when I’m with them. Even in the worst times, I can still find happiness when we’re together. Nothing can lift my spirits like the movie nights, times together, or just laughing with them can. Although I have amazing friends and have made great memories with them, there’s just something special about the times I’ve gotten to share with my family. I hope someday everyone can cherish these times like I have.
