"There are no good band directors, only great band students" is a quote by a person that gave me the key elements of music. Music is a major part of my life on a daily basis. Mr. Denis Vellier at Southside Jr. High. The band at Southside Jr. was one of the best in the state. He always said this , but i never got it until i was in eight grade. In the band we all thought it was him giving us the talent to be as good as we were, but we were wrong. The talent that we had was ours. He only showed us the way to success. Without him and his guidance, I would not be were i am today in music. I am very grateful of what he taught me and many others. It is true, "There are no great band directors, only great band students". I am very grateful to have had him as a teacher.
Haskell, I wish I would have thought about this.He always said that to us, but no one really understood it.Everybody thought that he was the one giving us the talent but he just showed us the way to success.I feel the same way. Without him and his guidance, I would not be were I am today in music.Great job Haskell!(:
