I like this quote because it tells us that freedom is not just handed to us. We had to fight for this freedom, and many men and women have died to keep us free. In America, we take many things for granted. In other countries, people may not have enough food to eat or even be able to choose the profession they desire. Most do not have the freedom of religion, speech, or do not have the right to a fair trial. They don’t even have the right to a basic education that we take for granted. We treat our freedom like everybody else in the world has the same rights that we do. We, in America, are very blessed in many ways. We complain when there is not much to complain about where in other countries they might be bombed every day. We have to fight for our freedoms. We have to protect them to remain a free country. It is a gift from our armed forces. In future generations, we still must fight for our rights. There are still other countries who wish that they could have the same wonderful freedoms we receive. And in spite of it all, they will still want to take our rights away.

ReplyDeleteMelanie, I believe in this quote. We all should fight for our freedom and our soliders are out there fighting for it, but yet people are still trying to take it away.
ReplyDeleteThis a great historic quote! I do think that most people in our country take things for granted and this quote should open their eyes, especially with the war in Iraq still going on and causing so many problems.
