"Guns cause crime like flies cause garbage"-bumper sticker
This quote is for all you people that don't like the second amendment. It is also for those that think that guns cause crime. I saw this quote on the a bumper sticker one day while I was heading home. The sticker is saying "Do flies cause garbage?" No, they don't. This means guns don't cause crime, people do. If you take away guns to stop crime, it just won't work. If someone wants to harm somebodyelse bad enough, they will use whatever they have. Just in case your wandering how to stop crime, it is imposible. There will always be those people that will break the rules because they want to. There is only one way to stop crime. In other words, if you want to stop crime, take away all the people.

I am also a huge fan of the second amendment. If you take away guns it is not going to stop crime. Also the people who use guns in a good manner will have to suffer with the people who use them for a crime. Conner, you are correct about stopping crime. The only way is to take away the people. This quote could impact the world one day. It might keep the second amendment in its place. This is a great quote.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, whover created that bumper sticker knows what they are talking about! Sure, a lot of crimes involve guns, but saying guns cause crimes is an ignorent statement. I fully support the second ammendment because I am a huge deer hunter. In my opinion, there are two kinds of people in the world, the people who are responsible with guns and the people who are not. People cause crimes, not guns. This is a really good quote.

Hey now, be nice. If you are interested, here are a few statistics on firearm use in the United States, Switzerland, and in Australia. By 1995, 21 states adopted the Concealed Carry Permits. These permits allowed people to carry handguns on them at all times. In these states, the murder rate dropped 89%. In fact, 90% of firearm homicide occurs in states without Concealed Carrier Licenses. In Switzerland, there is no army. Switzerland has what you would call a militia. The Swiss government issues military grade rifles to all males when they are 18. Women are also encouraged to own a rifle and use it. If guns caused crime, Switzerland would have the highest crime rate out of any industrialized nation. The opposite is true. The Swiss actually have one of the LOWEST homicide rate (about 3 people are killed for every 200,000 people per year). In 1996, Australia banned handguns. The homicide rate rose 3.2%, assaults went up 8.6%, and armed robberies rose nearly 45%! So, do guns cause crime? No, crime is determined by the quality of person in a country. If anything, guns deter crime.
