Laughing at Life's Realities

"I like nonsense; it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living; it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities. "

-Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel)

This quote has had a major impact on my life. It explains that you can’t take life too seriously. Life has many hardships to offer, but you can always find something within it to make you laugh. If you look at bad times in a different perspective, they may not seem as harsh because you will be laughing and having a good time while trudging through it. If you take life too seriously, you will miss out on a great deal of good times in life. You can also use your imagination to take you away from the problems in your life. You can create anything in the universe with imagination, especially happiness. Everyone goes through hard times. But some people don’t know how to make the best out of every situation. The quote states, “I like nonsense; it wakes up the brain cells.” The way I interpret that is that if you have a good imagination and don’t take everything too serious, it inspires you. You will want to accomplish more in life and your adventures will never end.

  1. I to agree with this quote. My life is full of hard times, as well. I usually just think of what my life would look like if I had nothing to give me entertainment. Walt Disney makes a good point in saying that life is to serious. You need to give it your all when life throughs all its got at you.
