"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."- Dr. Suess
This quote is one of the best that I have heard in a long time. Basically, it means that being yourself is the key to finding who really cares about you, and who you should really treasure. True friends are the people in your life who love you and accept you for who you are. They won't turn you away if you don't meet certain standards, and they are more than willing to be there when you need them most. Unlike fairweather friends, or friends who only pretend to care about you, then disappear when the world around you seems to be crumbling from under your feet. It's impossible to truly be yourself when your "friends" are judging you every chance they get. Is it frendship when you can't let go? When you you're scared to reveal your character? Your personality? NO. Not even close. The people who you should treasure love you for who you are. Even the simple things about you, like the way you talk, your pet-peeves, the funny way you laugh, or your different facial expressions. The way we act and treat others shows the true uniqueness of our heart. The people who willingly accept that uniqueness are the ones that matter most.
I agree. You should be able to be yourself around your friends, not worrying about what they are thinking about you.
ReplyDeleteI also agree. I really like this quote. People who really want to be around you are there for you. A true friend should like you just the way you are, and you shouldn't have to change for them.
ReplyDeleteThis really made me think about who are my real friends, and who are not. It is inspiring. I like it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really good quote. Its really meaningful and makes you think twice about who your true friends are.
