In the novel, The Hobbit, Bilbo says he is pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." I think that when he said this he meant he is pleased with who he is as well as his size and his life as a small Hobbit. Bilbo is a humble hobbit living in his hole and even though he enjoyed the adventure with the dwarves he likes his normal way of life more. That is what he meant when he said he was pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world." I would also be happy to be "quite a little fellow." People would not expect so much from such a small person. They might be fascinated by my smallness. Other people might even envy seeing life from the point of view on a smaller scale. I think that life as a little hobbit in the wide world would be enjoyable and at certain points exciting. Having tea at four o'clock with numerous guest in my very own hobbit hole sounds like a nice life. Being known as a respectable hobbit with an adventurous past and entertaining stories would be very nice. Being "only quite a little fellow in a wide world" sounds like a nice life to me.
