Connections

People go through life everyday thinking nothing of it. Not many people think that the things they do affects anyone else. They live their own lives and whatever happens to them is it. In the story The Five People You Meet in Heaven,  a character only known as "the blue man" makes a comment to the story's main character, Eddie.  He says, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from a wind." This statement means a lot to Eddie and makes him realize what he has never understood before, which is that everything someone does affects another in a certain way; everything that happens to you is planned out just perfect so that your life will fall into place.
To different people these statements said by "the blue man" can mean many different things. The beginning of this quote says, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected." To me, these two statements mean that anything you ever do is done for a reason.  Every part of your life is meant to happen to you so your life turns out exactly how God planned it for you. The second half of this quote states, "That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from a wind." This means that we are all connected in some way, shape or form. It shows how everything you do has an impact on not only your life, but the people's lives around you.
Many people do not realize how their lives are connected with someone else.  Sometimes, the connections have more of an impact (someone you know may die in order for someone else to live).  Other times, the affect may not be so large (someone working late one evening may miss being in an accident). The different ways in which people are connected are countless, but whenever something happens, whether good or bad, it is always for a reason.
