I Suspected We Were Connected

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more seperate one life from another than you can seperate a breeze from the wind."

Have you ever wondered why something happens? Just imagine this: It's Saturday night, and you're going to dinner with your friends. You're already running late because you spilt grape juice all over your outfit. That already has you flustered. To make it worse, you're on your way to the restaurant and your mom has to stop for gas. You think, can this night get any worse? As a result of those two things, you get to the restaurant fifteen minutes late.

Little did you know, if you would have left your house on time, a drunk driver would have been speeding toward you the moment you were turning into the parking lot. They would have collided into the passenger side of the car (your side), and you would have had to be rushed to the emergency room. The doctors wouldn't have been able to save you and you would've died.

Which option would you prefer?

To me, this quote means that everything happens for a reason. As shown in the example above, the reason you spilt grapejuice on your shirt, and the reason you had to stop for gas is because it was simply not your time to die yet.

All in all, no act is mundane. Every choice you make, every word you speak, effects the world in one way or another.

  1. Your post amused me. Very well written. Oh BTW, Option #1 please. I don't really fancy the second one.
