Ephesians 5:31-33 “As the Scriptures say, ‘A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”
Loving someone means to
care for another as, or more than, you would care for yourself. One has to be
prepared to make sacrifices. However, loving someone is not a one way action.
Returning someone’s love means being capable of giving to them, what they are
presenting to you. At this stage in my life, I feel love means being willing to
throw away my whole world for this one person. Everything is revolved around
love, or the lack there of. No one has a substantial urge to be without someone
to care about, or someone to care for them. And how one treats others is a
direct reflection of the love that grows within them. Love is shown through
acts of kindness, patience, honesty, and selflessness. It can be a big hoopla
full of emotion, or as simple as a kiss on the forehead. Love is a beautiful
thing, but it is not something to be taken lightly. When considering loving
someone, giving things up for them, striving to please them, think if they
would do the same for you, and put you on a pedestal. Ask yourself, are they
worth it?
