For me love is family and friends

What is love? Love is a puzzle that only those in love can solve. Some say it’s what makes the world go round. Some say if you don’t have love, you don’t have anything. While I do agree with these notions, I have a different type of love that people sometimes take for granted, the love of family and friends.

In my experience, you’ll always love your family. No matter how much wrong they do you you’ll always have a place in your heart for them. Even if it’s a teeny tiny spot it will always be there. So don’t wait until it’s too late to say you love them because too late does exist. I’m not just talking about blood family. I’m talking about any type of family, step-family, half-family, adopted family, extended family, and the family that you chose. That’s not even all the types of families.

Another form of love is the love you feel for friends. That love feels a whole lot like the love you feel for family. That’s because in most cases your friends might as well be your family. My friends are like brothers and sisters to me. Friends fight just like a family, and if they’re true friends, they forgive each other. Why? It’s because they love each other. Not in the way that has romance but the kind you feel for family.

Of course, no love is ever easy. You just have to be strong enough to deal with it. Take Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare for instance. They’re families are enemies and nobody even remembers why. Even though they’re supposed to hate each other they fall in love and get married. Then before they can even spend their wedding night together Romeo ends up killing Juliet’s cousin Tybalt. Thus, causing Romeo to get banished from Verona. They learned the hard way that any type of love is never easy.

To answer the question, “What is love?” it is one of the many secrets of universe. Many have different opinions, but no one has a correct answer. That’s because there is no correct answer. Once you find true love and experience it, then you have an answer for you and only you. For Romeo and Juliet it was that they’d rather die than be without each other, literally. It’s different for everyone. In my case I haven’t found all of the answer yet. As of right now my answer to the question, “What is love?” is friends and family.

  1. I very much enjoyed reading this! I would have thought that only someone's blood-related family would be the select few that someone would always love, but after reading this, I realized how someone could have, for example, a group of friends that act like a second family that you would never turn against as they would never turn against you.
