Love is such a difficult term to define. Each person has his or her own definition. Love is really anything you want to be. You could refer to true love, splashed across all forms of media stretching back hundreds of years. This could also be called Eros love, the romantic sort between a couple. There is familial love, the love of your family and even those very close to you. Philos love is the love between friends, a love everyone experiences at some point. There is agape, which is absolute, unconditional love. This is one of the three mains forms of love and considered the highest form. To me, this is the love of God, but it is different for everyone. The one part of love that is inescapable is heartbreak it will bring, no matter the type. If the love is pure and true, though, it can bring incredible joy, which to me is worth more than any pain it could bring. Love is something all of us experience at some point in life, in some form. It should be up to you how to define it and how to show love to others too.
Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.
I like how you put the names of the types of love. I had no idea that was what the names were.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on God's live being agape love. It makes perfect sense.
ReplyDeleteI like your blog and how it says that heartbreak is inescapable which is so true. It just comes with the package of love.
