A Selfless Act of Affection
Love is ridiculous, to say the least. I have nothing against it, but seeing as it is misunderstood on a day to day basis, it is quite irritating. At our age, most are ready to supposedly commit at first sight, and in my opinion, that isn't love in the slightest. Love is something that takes time, something that grows between people, and something that is rightly treasured and sought by most. It is willing to do practically doing anything to help or please the person you hold this affection towards, whether it be family, friends, or your significant other. However, many use the allusion of love to suit their own selfish dispostions. Love for me, is waiting, respecting, and so much more. It is lifting someone up and encouraging them when they are in need. Love is showing affection and feeling completely comfortable around someone, regardless of the situation. It is understanding and respecting someone's values, regardless of your view on the matter. To love someone is to serve them, to be there for them. That is something that most seem to lack, and their supposed love quickly fails as soon as any complications or any adversity is placed in front of them. The only love I have ever experienced was from my Savior and the center focus of my life. Jesus sought, and continues to seek, to love us passionately and to serve in any way possible, forgiving our sins along the way. Whether we allow Him to or not, it is completely up to the individual. It is something that truly has helped every aspect of my life, and I am forever grateful. Love is something that is absolutely life changing and will make you or break you in the end.

ReplyDeleteYeah Gage, I agree with everything you were talking about. I agree the most about how at our age, we love people because of there looks. And I agree that that is definitely not anything close to love.
