That Lovely Four Letter Word

What is love? That which we call affection, by any other name would seem as sweet? Is love patient ? Is love is kind? Does love mean slowly losing your mind? Many are confused with the definition of love and others simply reject it outright. Poets and writers have written about love ever since humans could hold a pen. Disney depicts love as a handsome knight on a white horse saving a damsel in distress.Then of course it is love at first sight and they proceed to gallop off into the sunset. The question on everyone's mind is, "What is real love, and how do I get it?" Personally, I believe love is different for everyone. In result how can I define love in general or tell you how to get it? I cannot, so I will explain my personal meaning of love and by which means that I receive it. There are many types of love, but they all have the following qualities: dedication, work , and play.One kind of love is agape. This is the love of God or religion. I know this to be the purest and most beautiful kind of love . Another Kind of love is that which you have for that special person you spend your life with. You give them affection, attention, and your life. Finally, the most common love is the love you have for your friends. Friendship is love, and for friends you would go the world over for their well being and happiness. You receive love by opening your heart and accepting it. You keep love by giving it back . Love has changed my life completely and made it better. Agape love has saved me and given me a purpose . I am not married, but I am sure that kind of love will change many things for me as well. My friends and my love for them have kept my chin up and my smiles often .I am not selfish with my love and give it openly to those who will accept it and return it. I am not naive with my love either . I will not give it to someone who neither wants it nor respects it. Love is unconditional, unending, and love is all you need.
