What is love?
Love is probably the most commonly used word in the English language, but how many people really know what love is? Being in high school, it seems that everything is about love. There are those who think they are constantly heartbroken over the ones they think they loved. There are those who need a constant boyfriend or girlfriend to keep them happy, who think they're in love at first sight. There are those who look for it constantly, although it never seems to come their way. Why is everyone so blind? Love is not something that happens only weeks after dating someone. Love is not something that happens at first sight. It takes time, trust, care, and effort to build up to love. The only person who deserves your love is the one who will fight for it, who will never hurt you. However, why do people seem to spend their whole lives looking for love? If only they would look around, they would see they are surrounded by people who love them. Those people may not be significant others, but you don't need a significant other to be happy. Love doesn't mean to have a significant other anyway. Love means to be there for someone no matter what. Love means to be loyal. Love means to pick someone up when they can't stand up on their own. Love isn't what people have made it out to be. If people would just stop looking for love and be happy with life, maybe they would stop getting hurt so much. Maybe love would even come to them.

I never really thought about love that way. But I do agree, if people opened their eyes to what is around them, they might be happier.
ReplyDeleteAmber, I really like your blog! I agree that people should stop searching for love. We are too young to be looking for love. We should live for today, and just let love happen!
