My Place of Refuge in a Troubled World

The land has always been a constant in Wand Lung's life. The land has been there for Wang Lung through both good times and bad. The same is true when it comes to my home. I have lived in the same home since I was born. It has been here for me, and I hope it always will me. It has shielded me from the warm Louisiana sun, and provided me warmth through the cold winters. Whether I had a bad day at school or am simply in a bad mood, I know that at the end of the day I have my home, where I can go to unwind and relax. Now matter how much people change, my home remains the same. My home serves as a place of refuge. It gives me hope that no matter how much things change in this world, some things will always remain the same. It gives me a feeling of safety in this very troubled world. Whether I am just down the street or half way across the world, I will always return home.
