We Are Connected by Our Actions
Anything and everything we do or will do in our life will always have an affect on our life and if not our own than it will affect someone else's.
The quote "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected . That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind . " means that everything happens for a reason . Nothing happens by accident , whether we meant to or not that action will always play a role in your life. Whatever we do can not be taken back even if we did not mean it , it will some how affect our life and change our entire future. Sometimes we do not even know that what we do can affect others . In the passage , Eddie, as an innocent young boy , ran after his ball in the street. Eddie did not know that what he had done , had in fact killed a man named , Joseph Corvelchik, that he had not even known. Even though it was not intentional, it does not mean that he had just drastically changed another man's life. Also Joseph had made a decision that had had changed his life and Eddie's. If Joseph would not have swerved out off the road to avoid hitting Eddie , Eddie would of been the one to die instead if him. " Suddenly , a baseball bounces across the street, and a boy comes racing after it . The driver slams on the brakes and yanks the wheel.....The jolt of adrenaline has forced his heart to pump furiously and this heart is not a strong one and the pumping leaves him drained. The man feels dizzy and his head drops momentarily ....the blood from his coronary arteries no longer flows to his heart ... medical examiner pronounces him dead..."heart attack."'Eddie's simple little action had caused all of that to happen .So, in conclusion , no matter what we do , big or small , it affects the world and people around us .

Every Act Is Always Connected
In my opinion, the quote “ That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate when my from another Than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” This quote means that every at has a cause and effect.
Everything happens for reason. If you were to go on a red light and not stop at a green light it would cause a wreck to happen. If you were to say mean things to someone it would hurt their feelings. These are two examples of things that have an effect of what you do or what happens because of something. In the story Eddie ran out into the middle of the road and got the basketball since he chose to make that mistake it cause the Blue Man to have a heart attack and die. The cause was that Eddie had run out into the middle of the road in the effect of that was that the Blue Man died.
"That there are no random acts.” This part of the quote means that you don't need to do something because you want to, it is already planned out for you. "That we are all connected." This part of the quote means that every act has a consequence rather it be good or bad. “That you can no more separate when my from another then you can separate breeze from the wind." This part of the quote means that you cannot separate one from another it has a chain reaction. If you do one thing something is going to happen because of it. You cannot just do one thing, if you do one thing you going to do another.
This whole quote basically means that if you go in and do one thing you need to think because if not you can end up hurting someone or killing someone that you never thought of. It is a chain reaction, everything happens for a reason. No matter how hard to try for something good to happen something bad could come out of it. Therefore, there are no random acts everything is connected.
Web of Connection
"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another that you can separate a breeze from the wind." This is a recognizable quote from The Five People You Meet in Heaven. To me, this quote implies that all human beings' actions are connected in a web to each other, and it tells how someone else's actions can affect another's.
In The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Eddie meets his first person, Joseph Corvelzchik. Joseph explains how Eddie's actions caused him to die. When Eddie was a young boy, he played catch with his brother, Joe, at Ruby Pier. One day, the ball was thrown into the middle of the road, and Eddie ran after it. Meanwhile, Joseph was driving down the same road and saw a boy in the middle of the road. He swerved out of the way and ended up dying moments later due to shock. Eddie did not think anything of the truck as it swerved out of the way, and they continued playing catch. Eddie blames himself for the death of Joseph when Eddie meets him in heaven. However, Joseph explains that his death caused Eddie to live.
Eddie, while working at Ruby Pier, performed maintenance on many rides. These actions caused the people riding the rides at Ruby Pier to stay safe. Just like how Joseph's death caused Eddie to live, Eddie's death caused someone else to live. An accident on one of the rides at Ruby Pier caused a little girl to be put in danger as a cart from a ride almost fell on her. Through Eddie's actions, he was able to save the little girl. However, he lost his own life.
This quote implies that there is a web of connection between peoples' actions. Everything we do affects someone else. This is why we should think carefully about the decisions we make, because it could affect another person horribly, while affecting us mildly. Our lives are just one big web of connection.
Life is like a book
Life is like a book.
All chapters are connected and if you take out one of those chapters nothing
else will make sense or your outcome will be different. In life if one thing
changes that will cause a different outcome and everything else will also change.
In The Five People You Meet in Heaven it states, “That there are no random
acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from
another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” This means everything in
life happens for a certain reason even if that reason may not be clear at the
time. In The Five People You Meet in Heaven Eddie meets different people who show
him that all lives are interconnected in some way.
Eddie
is throwing the ball with his friends one Sunday morning and the ball gets
thrown into the road and Eddie chases after the ball. However at the same time
a truck was coming down the road and luckily the driver swerved just in time to
avoid hitting Eddie. Every story has two sides and this is another point of
view of the same story. A man was driving down the slick road from all of the
rain and sees a ball bounce in the road then a second later he sees a kid
chasing the ball. The man has to stomp on the breaks and swerve to miss the
kid. The man regains control of the truck and keeps driving but his heart is beating
really fast. The man has a weak heart and this makes him feel tired so he puts
his head down for a second and comes into close contact with another vehicle. The
man swerves again this time turning into a non busy alleyway. He crashes into
the back of a truck and steps out of his vehicle. The man falls to the ground
and lays there till his death because no one finds his body in time. The man
happens to be Joseph Corvelzchik better known as the blue man who is the first
person Eddie meets in heaven.
When
the blue man was younger his father took him to work with him and when the foreman
came around his dad told him, “Look down. Don’t make him notice you.” However he
dropped his bag of buttons on the ground and the foreman told him that he was
worthless and he had to leave. Since he was a nervous child he had an accident
on himself and all the workers including the foreman laughed at him and because of that he
would have accidents on himself every night. He would wake up every morning
before his dad got up and he washed his sheets so his dad would not find out. Long
story short he ended up going to a chemist to find medicine. They gave him
silver nitrate which ended up later being claimed a poison. The silver nitrate
ended up making him turn blue and he would scare other people when they looked
at him so he got fired from his job. He ended up joining a circus which got him
a job at Ruby Pier. Eddies father was a maintenance man at Ruby Pier. He would
bring Eddie to the pier every Saturday while he played cards and would tell one
of the other workers to watch Eddie. However Eddie just wanted to spend time
with his father. If Eddie’s father would have never worked at Ruby Pier then Eddie
would have never thrown the ball into the road.
Eddie
and the blue man would have never crossed path if it hadn’t been for Ruby Pier.
Ruby Pier brought them together and crossed their paths on that Sunday morning.
In The Five People you meet in heaven it states, “We don’t meet people by
accident. They are meant to cross our path for a reason.”
"By the Love of God"
Everyone is the connected no matter your gender or race. We are all the same. Don't believe me? Just listen to this quote,"That there are no random acts. That we are
all the connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This quote means something. Every sentence in it
has a meaning, but they all connect together in the end.
"That there are no random acts." This sentence means that you are responsible for your own actions. That everything you do has a meaning to it. You don't randomly do
things. All your actions have a meaning, and you have to take full responsibility for them no matter the consequences."That there are no random acts."
"That we are all connected." We are all connected by the love of the big man himself,God. God created us all therefore we are all connected. We are all the same. Who
cares about your gender, weight or race? None of that matters. "That we are all connected."
"That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." Like the last sentence, we are all the same. No one is different.
Again, because of the love by God we are a connected. You can't separate some rich person's life from some poor person's life. Rich or poor you are still the same.
"That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind."

separate one ife from another.

Random acts
In the book "The five people you meet in heaven". The main character Eddie meets the blue man who tells "That there are no random acts we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you separate the the breeze from the wind." What this means is that every action that happens will affect someone else. But we will never really understand this because we are taught that no life is the same that we are all different. So we think that its impossible for some one else we do not know to change our life.
In the story Eddie and the blue man life connect because when Eddie was younger he ran in to the road after his toy and was almost hit by a car. On the other side a man with a weak heart driving car saw a child running in the road and he has to swerve out of the way of the kid. After having to react to the kid the man has a massive heart attack and later dies that day. this is what connected the blue man and Eddie this one little moment.
If we take this quote in a major way. It could be good or harmful to me. But they would not know it and I would not know who did it.
We are all connected
In the
story, The Five People You Meet in
Heaven, Eddie dies and meets a blue man in Heaven named Joseph Corvelzchik.
The Blue Man gives Eddie a lesson and one of the things that he tells him is “That
there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more
separate one life from another than you can a breeze from the wind.’’
At
first, I didn’t know what this quote meant, but if you break it down, it starts
to make sense. The quote begins with the statement ‘’That there are no random
acts.’’ What this means is that everything happens for a reason and our lives
are already planned out ahead of time. For example, when Eddie ran into the
road to chase after the basketball , it wasn’t luck that the Blue Man swerved out of the way,
it was supposed to happen. As a result of Eddie running into the road, the Blue
Man also died. Sometimes, when bad things happen we don’t know why. All we know
is that they happen for some reason.
The
second sentence in the quote says ‘’ That we are all connected.’’ This means
that everything we do has an impact on the people around us. The things that we
do in our lives occur because of a chain reaction. When someone does something,
we will have a reaction , whether it is good or bad, and our reaction will
cause someone else to have a reaction, and so on. For example, in the story Eddie
meets a woman names Ruby. She built the pier that Eddie and his father grew up
on, worked on, and where Eddie died. Without her, none of those things would
have happened. Even though Eddie did not personally know Ruby, she still
impacted his life.
The
last sentence in this quote says ‘’That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a
breeze from the wind. ‘’ This statement means that just like you cannot
separate the connection between a breeze and the wind, you cannot separate the
connection between people. It also means that you cannot prevent things from
happening that are supposed to happen to you.
This
quote made me think that next time I have to make a decision, I should think twice
before making it, even if it is something small. I should think about who it
could have an impact on , and how it would affect them. This is because even the smallest decisions
can have the biggest impacts on people. Therefore, somehow we are all connected
and the choices that we make every day impact someone in some way.
The Mystery of Kismet
Every action we do affects others in some way, whether it would be in a negative or positive light. In the end though, everything happens for a reason.
That quote means a good bit to me. It has helped me with past issues that have now become resolved inside of myself. A few years back my cousin accidentally killed himself by misfiring a gun. It took me a long time to get over it and once I did, I saw that his death had caused a chain reaction in people's lives.
To me, this quote means that everything happens for a reason.
There are no random acts, whether it be accidentally spilling something on your shirt before a meeting or helping a homeless man on the street by giving him a few cents. Both of these actions occur to many people around the world but the reasons for any action regardless either in favor or not in favor are deemed, “a chance of pure luck” or “a cruel twist of kismet”. When in all actuality, it is neither. Let's go back to the homeless man on the street. Someone might have seen your kind act and decided that they would do one themselves, they could've paid for someone else's order in line because of the kind act before that they saw from you. Something that could've happened to someone else may have changed a slight difference in the other life and another change to another person. It's all connected. Just like the Blue Man states, “You can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind”.
Everything in life as we receive it, is sometimes clouded by our feelings of guilt, joy, and many others. Sometimes we see it through rose colored glasses, blocking out all the wrong doings or events and instead looking towards a hopeful future. Or else, we can choose to see life as it comes and goes. Sure, something will happen here and there, who knows how it will end up? In this story Eddie has instead kept his anger and memories and chose for them to become his partners throughout the rest of his life. Even after his rough times he still chose to not look up in life. Instead he continued to drown in his memories and look for comfort there instead. Everything happens for a reason, and Eddie loosing track of time and all sense of reality while he's working at the pier is a good example of it. His stubborn actions actually helps his purpose in life from the beginning. What I mean by help is not what you or I would think it is. This kind of help is more like a gradual elevation to what he was created for. Everything from his father’s abuse to his wife’s death and everything after and in between has made him lead up to his purpose in this world: to protect children and keep them safe.

“That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.”-the Blue Man, pg. 48 from The Five People You Meet in Heaven. Eddie, the main character is taught many lessons. The first lesson being there are no random acts. That we are all connected. There are many ways a person can interpret this statement. The meaning of this, in my opinion, is everything happens for a reason, and the actions we take will not only affect us but affect other people as well, connecting us.
The first part of the statement, “That there are no random acts” means that everything has a purpose. Nothing happens “just because”. There is reasoningbehind everything. The situation between Blue Man and Eddie was a prime example. The text from The Five People You Meet in Heaven, pg 49, “What good came from your death? You lived”, the Blue Man answered. The Blue Man’s death happened for a definite reason and purpose. If the Blue Man did not die, Eddie would not have lived.
The second part of the statement, “That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from a wind.” To me, the meaning is every action a person takes will undoubtedly influence another person. In the end, our decisions will connect us to others. Text from The Five People You Meet in Heaven states,“when that ball fires over Eddie’s head and out into the street, Eddie…chases after it, and runs in front of an automobile.” Eddie’s side of the story found in the text states, “Suddenly, a baseball bounces across the street, and a boy comes racing after it. The car skids, the tire screech.” The Blue Man manages to skid along the avenue and regain control of his car. Although he avoided the boy, the close call was traumatic to him and ultimately led to his heart attack. Eddie’s actions indirectly prompted his death. This linked Eddie and the Blue Man’s lives forever.
Connected Together
Have you ever wondered what causes some things to happen? You
might think it was just random or an accident? Well in the book “The Five People
You Meet in Heaven” there is a quote that tells us “That there are no random
acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from
another than you can a breeze from the wind.” This could mean a great deal of things.
It all depends on the person who reads it, and there perspective. My view of this quote is that
everything that happens happens for a specific reason, that every action taken there is a reaction, and even if you do not mean to affect others, you end up
affecting them anyway, because we cannot be separated.
“That there are no random acts.” could mean whatever happens to someone
in life happens for a reason and purpose, even though we might not be able to
know why sometimes. As from the book, Jeremiah 29:11, ”‘For I know the plans I have
for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans
to give you hope and a future.’” these things that happen to us are not
intended to hurt us, even though they may hurt for a period of time. Overall
these acts are to build us up and make us who are meant to be. For this to happen it all depends on your
actions in these times.
Your actions are what connect us all together. No matter if it is
a big something or small. It affects someone whether it is someone close to you
or a complete stranger. Every action that is done has some kind of aftermath. An example would be when Eddie saves that little girl Annie/Amy’s
life. He pushed her out of the way from being crushed by the ride, resulting in Eddie getting crushed instead. His decision allowed the girl to
continue living her life. However, it does not have to be something big like that. It could be a small favor. For instance, when Eddie made her a little pipe cleaner animal which made her smile. Eddie’s favor was not that big, but it had a big reaction, making that little girl
happy.
Eddie, in those two examples, was purposefully meaning to affect someone
else. Sometimes we affect people and don’t even mean to or know it. Like when Eddie
ran into the street to get his ball, he almost got hit by a car. The driver of
that car, the “Blue Man”, swerved out of the way and then had a heart attack
from the adrenaline rush of the almost tragedy and died. Unknowingly, Eddie
affected the life of the “Blue Man” when he ran into the street. This circumstance was obviously not on his mind. Just as the quote says, it is our actions and their consequences that tie us all together. In conclusion there are no random acts everything
happens for a reason, that we are all connected by our actions and reactions,
and that you cannot disconnect one life from another.
No Random Acts
"That there are no random
acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from
another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." I believe this
statement means that the things we choose to do have effects on others. These
effects may not be seen immediately, but we should consider the possible
consequences of our actions. We should choose actions that will make positive
impressions on others if possible. The statement above was told to Eddie by the
Blue Man, the first person he met in heaven. He used this to explain to Eddie
that even though we may not realize that our actions affect others, they will.
Our actions have consequences; they effect people in positive or negative ways.
Eddie learned that an innocent act
of tossing a baseball with his friends started a series of events that led to
the Blue Man’s death. This realization
made Eddie sorry and nervous because he thought he would have to pay for what
he had done. The Blue Man told him that he was not there to be punished. “No,
Edward. You are here so I can teach you something. All the people you meet here
have one thing to teach you.” (p.47)
Another
person Eddie met in heaven was his captain in the military. His captain taught
him about sacrifice. He shot Eddie’s leg to save his life. If he would have not
shot him, Eddie would have gone into the burning hut and burned to death. This
left Eddie handicapped, but alive. The captain also ran ahead of the car that
his group was riding in to make sure there were no mines. The captain
sacrificed himself to make sure his group was safe. The captain told Eddie,
“That’s the thing. Sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, you’re not
really losing it. You’re just passing it on to someone else.” (p.94)
The last
person Eddie met showed him that his life and his actions everyday saved
hundreds of lives. There were even those who had not been born yet that would
benefit from his actions before his death. He realized that the life his
Captain sacrificed for him was not wasted as he thought it was. He had never
seen the positive consequences of his actions until Tala showed him how many
children and people he helped every day at Ruby Pier. I think this was a
perfect ending to prove that even though we think the little things in our
lives don’t matter, others for generations my benefit from our actions. The
small daily things sometimes make the biggest difference.
Connected Lives
The quote, "That there are no random acts. that we are all connected. that you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind" from The Five People You Meet in Heaven means that nothing just happens, it's all for a reason. The actions people make don’t just affect them, the actions affect other people as well. Everyone and every action is connected to another making us all somehow connected. The things that we cause somehow affect other people; sometimes in small ways, other times in big ways. For example, in the book when Eddie ,the maintenance man, was a child he ran in the road in front of a car to get his ball and was almost hit. The driver swerved out of the way but ended up having a heart attack because of it and died. If the man had not swerved, Eddie would have died and he would have lived. Eddie's choices led to the action of the man having a heart attack, making these two strangers connected. Even if they didn’t realize it, their lives were intertwined. By the driver dying and Eddie living, Eddie was able to save a life. He later gave up his life in order to save a little girl from a falling cart. If the driver had hit Eddie, the little girl would have never been saved and would have also died. The driver's action led to Eddie being able to save the girl. Everyone's lives intersect and are connected whether people notice or not. Wind is full of little breezes mixed together. You can't separate the breezes, just as you cant separate all the connected lives.

FATE
Fate, as defined by google, is the development of events beyond a person’s control, regarded as determined
by a supernatural power. Reading The
Five People You Meet In Heaven has changed how I look at my actions. I
now know my actions can not only change what happens to me, but what happens to
the people around me. This is a quote from The
Five People You Meet In Heaven, “That there are no random acts. That we
are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you
can separate a breeze from the wind,” means to me that no matter
what we do, all of our lives are intertwined in some way. Little do we know that
small acts, such as blowing the horn at someone on the interstate, may be life
changing. The driver you blew your horn at may have been nearly asleep and
about to get in a fatal car accident, but you blew your horn, awoke the driver,
and indirectly saved their life.
When
Eddie arrives in heaven he is greeted by a man, Joseph Corvelszchik, known as
The Blue man. Eddie knows Joseph from the freak show on Ruby Pier. One rainy
Sunday morning in July Eddie ran into the road after his ball and a Ford Model
A, nearly hitting him, swerved out of the way. Just seconds after nearly hitting
Eddie with his Model A, Joseph had a heart attack and died because of his weak heart. After Eddie
apologizes to Joseph, Joseph goes on to say even though he and Eddie never knew
each other well their actions had a huge effect on one another.
In
conclusion, life is based on the decisions you make. Every action that takes
place in life has an effect on not only you, but also the people around you.
Everything’s
Connected
By Alex Donze
In
both The Five People You Meet in Heaven
by Mitch Albom and And Then
There Were None by Agatha Christie there is a common theme about how everyone
and everything is interconnected and always has a purpose. Eddie from The Five People You Meet In Heaven and
the party group from And Then There Were
None all have committed acts that have gotten them where they are. The Five People You Meet In Heaven connects
Eddie with people and events in his life, while in And Then There Were None each member of the party group is faced
with the horrible crimes they committed.
Eddie in The Five People You Meet in Heaven did many acts throughout his
life that affected others such as the Blue Man’s death. As stated in the text
“You killed me,” Eddie finds that his accidentally throwing a ball too high
resulted in the Blue Man’s heart failing. Eddie realizes later that in the
prison camp if he had not seen the shadow he would not have been shot in the
knee. When the captain tells him “I took
your leg,” Eddie realizes not only that he lost his leg, but that it also
resulted in the captain being blown up. These examples show how everything and
everyone is connected in The Five People
You Meet in Heaven.
The group in And Then There Were None did horrible actions that got them to the
island including Marston killing a family in a drunk driving accident and Claythorn
drowning a little boy for her boyfriend. Each guest or “Little Indian” was
connected as murderers to the other guests by the terrible crime he or she
committed and in the end “justice was served” by Wargrave. This terrible ending
shows how the actions that one commits does affect others and will catch up
with one in the end.
These stories show how everything
one does affects not only oneself but others. In both of the novels The Five People You Meet in Heaven by
Mitch Albom and Agatha Christie’s And
Then There Were None, the authors give
the reader a great way explaining how and why everything and everyone comes
together. Just remember everything’s connected.
Lives Tangled Together
“I
know the plans I have for you declares the Lord…” states Jeramiah 29:11. This
bible verse relates to the quote most notable from The Five People you Meet in Heaven, “That there are no random acts. That we are
all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can
separate a breeze from the wind.” To me, this quote means that everyone has a
plan already made for them therefor entangling everyone’s lives because in the
beginning God created one man from which everyone descends. In the Garden of
Eden, Adam ate the forbidden fruit bringing sin into the world; today, we are
still suffering from his decision. This shows that there are no random acts and
that this was God’s plan. People do not realize that no matter how big or small
of a decision they make, it will affect other people’s lives.
In The
Five People You Meet in Heaven, the first person Eddie meets when he
reaches Heaven is Joseph Corvelzchik, also known as the “Blue Man”, and he
teaches Eddie “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That
you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze
from the wind.” Eddie first met the blue man at a side show on Ruby Pier.
Little did they know, one of Eddie’s decisions would change Joseph’s life. In The
Five People You Meet in Heaven, Eddie is tossing a baseball with his
friends when it flies over his head. Eddie runs after it right in front of an
automobile that Joseph Corvelzchick is driving. The close encounter with Eddie
causes him to have a heart attack behind the wheel and he ends up rolling in
the car until it hits the back of a parked truck killing Joseph. Eddie had no
idea that he had caused Joseph’s death or that their lives were tangled
together. Even though Eddie did not know Joseph, when their paths crossed,
Eddies decision had a lasting effect on Josephs life.
At
Eddies job as a maintenance man at Ruby Pier, he affects countless people’s lives
by just doing what he gets paid to do, fixing breaks and replacing cables on
rides. There is one particular little girl named Amy/Annie, Eddie was never
really sure of her name, whose life he saved from a broken ride called Freddy’s
Freefall. One of the internal cables that no one could access snapped causing
the ride to fail. After getting the riders out of the ride, Eddie told another
worker named Willie to release the manual restraint and the ride came crashing to
the ground. Eddie saw Amy/Annie under the ride and he ran after her and pushed
her out of the way allowing the ride to fall on himself. Eddie made a decision
to sacrifice himself allowing the little girl to live. Eddies decisions
throughout his life have affected numerous people whether he knows it or
not.
Just
like how Eddie did not know that he would have an effect on Joseph or the
little girl, we do not realize how we affect other people’s lives, no matter
how big or small of a decision it is. A simple breeze could turn into a hurricane
just like how someone’s small decision could have a huge effect on another’s
life.
There Are No Random Acts
"There are no random acts. That we are all connected." In my opinion, this means that every person is the same in some way. People's actions occur for a purpose and isn't random. "That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This states that human lives are more similar than people think.
You cannot separate a breeze from the wind, which tells you that lives can't be separated. Acts or actions made by people aren't a coincidence and can benefit other lives. There is and always will be a meaning for what you do. Your choices may hurt you at the moment, but will help you make a better choice in the future.
In "The Five People You Meet in Heaven," Eddie's actions end up making a man crash and die. The man that died, The Blue Man, tells Eddie, "Fairness does not govern life and death." Eddie thinks he should pay for what he had done as a child, but the Blue Man refused. The Blue Man also tells Eddie that the people he will meet in Heaven will teach him how their actions and Eddie's actions caused pain and joy in their lives. Overall, actions and choices will always have a purpose.

The Butterfly
Effect
Have you ever heard of the butterfly effect? The butterfly effect, as defined by google, is the “sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state.” At its most basic form that is saying that something small like throwing a piece of thrash in the street could lead to a special chain of events that could cause a vehicle accident. The quote, “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind,’’ reminded me of the butterfly effect exactly.
In the story, it talks about looking at one story from two different angles. The Five People You Meet in Heaven starts off with Eddie and his friends throwing a baseball he had just gotten for his seventh birthday. When you look at it from the point of view of Eddie all you see is a little boy who ran into the street to retrieve a ball, but when you look at it from the point of view of the, “Blue man,” you see a man borrowing a friend’s car and having to swerve out of the way to not hit a boy who ran into the street to retrieve a lost ball. Also, it just so happened that the, “Blue man” has a weak heart and that event caused him to have a heart attack.
The quote from the story reminds me of the butterfly effect because,”…you con more separate on life from another that you can separate a breeze from the wind.” Is the butterfly effect.

“There are no random acts. We are all connected. You can no
more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the
wind.” Over time we usually come to realize how much effect we have on each
other. Every word you speak and muscle you move has the potential to affect
someone mentally, physically, and/or emotionally. Through this, it becomes
apparent that most, if not all people in the world are connected. From the
quote above, we can learn that we should recognize the importance of
considering our acts before we commit them, rather than acting instinctively or
without consideration.
Our
interconnection is the effect of several things. The first being that we live
in a world in which we all usually interact with many people on a daily basis.
While we may not realize it, almost everything we do is interpreted by anyone
observing. This can be anything, including actions, body language, and verbal
language. This can affect observers in many different ways, which is why it is
so important to consider what you do when other people are around.
I
recently read a book labeled The Five People You Meet in Heaven. In this book, a man named Eddie dies and goes to
heaven. There, he meets five people who he has either been heavily influenced
by, or has drastically affected in his life. Two of those five people Eddie has
never truly known in his time on Earth, yet he had heavily affected their
lives. The first of the two was a man with blue skin, referred to simply as
‘The Blue Man’. Eddie had never really known or talked to this man prior to his
time in heaven. At one point, Eddie, as a kid, ran into a street to fetch a
ball thrown by him and his friends. A car was coming towards Eddie, with the
blue man in front of the wheel. Somehow the man managed to avoid crashing into
Eddie, swerving out of the way and regaining control. Because of this, the man
became distressed and experienced an increased heart rate. This, combined with
the fact that he had a ‘weak heart’, led to him losing consciousness while
driving, eventually crashing into a truck and later dying as an effect of
Eddie’s carelessness. This emphasizes how significant the effect of your
actions may be. The second of the two was a young girl who died as Eddie tried
to save her. To give more context, during Eddie’s time served in the army,
presumably during World War 2, after escaping a long term captivity from four
enemy soldiers, Eddie’s unit decided to set fire to the place they were held
captive in. As the fires blazed, Eddie saw a shadow he believed to be a human running
into the flames. He ran to save whoever was there, even attacking a fellow unit
member to get there. As he searched, he was shot in the leg by his captain so
that he could be saved, which later caused major difficulties in his life. In
heaven, Eddie discovers that the shadow he saw was a little girl running to
safety, quickly dying in the fire. This also emphasizes how we can affect
people we don’t know in ways we don’t even realize, and the same can happen to
us.
As shown
in these examples, it is important that we consider our actions and make the
right choices. Our actions have a significant effect on others, and others’
actions have a great effect on us. We should remember to have empathy and act
accordingly as it can prevent a multitude of undesired consequences.

The Connection Between us
“That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.“ To me, this quote simply means that our lives are all somehow connected, and that the decisions we make today can have an affect on our lives as well as the lives of others. In the story, “The Five People You Meet in Heaven”, by Mitch Albom, a man named Eddie meets the five people who had the biggest impact on his life and learns an important lesson from each of them.
The first person Eddie meets in heaven is the blue man. When Eddie was a child, he was playing baseball with his friends and the ball rolled out into the street. As Eddie went after it, he caused the truck that was coming down the street to swerve and barely miss hitting him. The Blue man, who was driving the truck, crashes into a parked car and dies. It was because of Eddies decision to chase after the ball that he crashed his truck and died. The blue man teaches Eddie that all lives are connected and that your decisions can have an effect on other people.
Eddie also meets an old woman named Ruby, even though Eddie never met her, she still had a big impact on his life. Ruby’s husband was the man who built the original Ruby Pier. This was where Eddie grew up, worked, and died. If the pier was never built, Eddie wouldn’t have worked there, and he wouldn’t have died from the roller coaster accident that happened at the pier.
After reading this story, I have learned that the decisions we make can affect other peoples lives, and that all of our lives are connected in some way.

The Connection of All
People
People
do not realize their significance and their actions that affect other people’s
lives. The Five People You Meet in Heaven
by Mitch Albom shows how people are connected to one other. In the story, Eddie
meets Joseph Corvelzchik in heaven and he tells him
“That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more
separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.”
This means that everyone is connected through their decisions and impacts each
other lives. The choices of other people
and sacrifice play a big role in changing other lives.
In the story, Eddie meets Ruby, the person the pier is
named after. She later tells him that if it wasn’t for her husband, there
wouldn’t be a pier. And if there was not pier, Eddie would not be working
there. This is an example of how people’s choices can later affect people in
life. The decision of Ruby and her husband gave Eddie his job and gave him a
place to grow up.
The second person Eddie meets in heaven is the Captain. He
sacrificed his life to save Eddie and the others in the truck. According to the
story “The land mine exploded instantly…It blew the Captain 20 feet in the air
and split him into pieces…” If nobody had went out to check for the land mines,
everybody in the transporter would have been killed. This decision extended the
rest of their lives and helped them get back to safety.
The people Eddie meets in heaven and their encounters in
real life are examples on how people affect other lives. All the accidents
Eddie has prevented by fixing rides, kept all the people who rode them safe. He
affects everyone at the pier and we also make countless decisions that affect
the people around us everyday.

Tangled Together
“You can no more separate one life from another than you can separate wind from a breeze.” means simply that we are all connected, through every decision no matter how insignificant it may seem. For example, Eddie’s life is connected to a boy that once visited the amusement park. He chose to put his car keys in the pocket of a jacket that was tied around his waist. It fell out during one of the rides and hit a cable wire that gradually ripped over time. Eventually, the wire snapped. This seemingly small decision caused Eddie to lose his Earthly being.
Another example would be Eddie’s captain. In the story, he saved Eddie from burning in a fire as he chased after what he assumed to be someone stuck in the flames. His captain made the call to shoot Eddie in the knee as to get him out of the fire. Afterwards, he chose to go ahead of Eddie and the others to see if it was safe to continue down the road. He ended up dying in an explosion. Their lives are undoubtedly connected in many more ways than one. If his captain had not shot Eddie, there was a possibility that Eddie could have died and there was a slight chance that his captain would have survived in his stead.
Every Action or Decision has Purpose Towards
the Future
Within
each day, a person is often faced with decisions. Whether minor or major, the
outcome of these decisions will determine many factors of the future. Each
action has a reaction. In the book, The Five People You Meet in Heaven,
the main character, Eddie, passes away. In attempts to save a small child from
a falling cart in the amusement park he worked at for decades, an awful mistake
occurred, causing his death. Based on this story, when you pass and go to
Heaven, you meet five important figures in your lifetime. After arriving in
Heaven, Eddie meets Joseph Corvelzichik, also known as The Blue Man.
Even though he was
never aware of it, The Blue Man played a huge role in Eddie’s life. Many years
before his death, Eddie ran after a ball that had rolled onto the street. What
he didn’t know was that The Blue Man, at that exact time, almost hit Eddie with
his vehicle. Instead, The Blue Man swerved out of the way, saving him. A short
time after that, The Blue Man’s weak heart could not handle the adrenaline he
dealt with after the incident and died of a heart attack. Eddie was responsible
for his death. This is an example of freewill and fate. It was freewill because
Eddie had the free decision to take a risk and get his ball. It was fate because
God planned that both people would cross paths in that time at that place.
When Eddie was told the
truth, he was distraught. That was then when The Blue Man told him this, “That
there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more
separate one life from another than you can a breeze from the wind.” This means
that even sometimes when we believe that “…such things are random…there is a
balance to it all. One withers, another grows. Birth and death are part of a
whole.” When tragic events happen, it all comes down to the actions, decisions,
and the freewill of some that lead up to the fate of others.

Life Changing Decisions
Life Changing Decisions
The prompt "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." means to me that everyone has a reason to do something and that ends up affecting someone else. The book, The Five People You Meet In Heaven, by Mitch Albom, shows this by taking you through Eddie's memories of childhood, adulthood, and old age. When Eddie was a child he ran in front of a car to get a ball. The man slammed on his brakes, and later died from a heart attack. The "Blue Man" in heaven tells Eddie, "' That death doesn't just take someone it misses someone else, and in the small distance between being taken and being missed lives are changed.'" If the "Blue Man" had never slammed on his brakes Eddie would be dead, but Eddie went to the Blue Man's funeral instead of the "Blue Man" going to Eddie's funeral.
The second person, was Eddie's captain in the war. He gave up his life and sacrificed himself to save his fellow men. The captain says, "' You just don't know it yet I gained something too...I got to keep my promise. I didn't leave you behind.'" He kept his promise and didn't leave his men behind. He sacrificed his life so Eddie and the others could live to see another day.
When Eddie felt like his old self, he learned from a little girl his reason for being alive and his impact on others' life. When Eddie asks "'Why?'" he was supposed to be at Ruby Pier, she replies, "' Children...You keep them safe.'" Eddie thought his reason for being at Ruby Pier was because of his father. But, Tala says he was there to keep children safe. Eddie affected the children and everyone who went to Ruby Pier by keeping them safe. His reasons for staying affected others just like others actions affected him and his life.

Heaven intersects
Destiny. Fate.
Providence. Whether we chose to believe it, everything happens for a reason. When
reading The Five People You Meet in Heaven you really start to understand life
and how the choices you make can affect yourself but also the people around
you. A quote from the five people you meet in heaven states, “There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you
can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from
the wind.” To me, the quote from The Blue Man means that nothing in this world
just effects one person, no matter what there will be a cause and effect
affecting someone else. What I chose to do today could consequently affect
someone’s tomorrow.
The first person Eddie
meets in heaven is a man named Joseph Corvelszchik, also referred to as The Blue Man because of
his skin color caused by an overdose on silver nitrate. Eddie remembers the Blue Man from his childhood, back when Ruby
Pier had a freak show. The Blue Man then explains that because Eddie ran into
the street chasing after his ball when he was a kid The Blue Man had to quickly
brake in order to miss Eddie and died of a heart attack because the
shock distracted him so much. When Eddie learns that he
was a contributor in the death of The Blue Man he was in shock. The Blue Man
goes on to tell him that all lives are connected and intersect in one-way or
another. Everything has a positive and negative reaction resulting in some
people dying so others could live. Even though Eddie did not know Joseph
Corvrlszchik before meeting him in heaven, they were connected his whole life.
In
conclusion, everyone views stories and novels in different ways. The way I choose
to view it is as a man who learns about accidental consequence. When reading I
learned so much about connection and love. Weather we chose to belive it,
everything happens for a reason. Heaven intersects.
