Life is like a book

Life is like a book. All chapters are connected and if you take out one of those chapters nothing else will make sense or your outcome will be different. In life if one thing changes that will cause a different outcome and everything else will also change. In The Five People You Meet in Heaven it states, “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” This means everything in life happens for a certain reason even if that reason may not be clear at the time. In The Five People You Meet in Heaven Eddie meets different people who show him that all lives are interconnected in some way.

Eddie is throwing the ball with his friends one Sunday morning and the ball gets thrown into the road and Eddie chases after the ball. However at the same time a truck was coming down the road and luckily the driver swerved just in time to avoid hitting Eddie. Every story has two sides and this is another point of view of the same story. A man was driving down the slick road from all of the rain and sees a ball bounce in the road then a second later he sees a kid chasing the ball. The man has to stomp on the breaks and swerve to miss the kid. The man regains control of the truck and keeps driving but his heart is beating really fast. The man has a weak heart and this makes him feel tired so he puts his head down for a second and comes into close contact with another vehicle. The man swerves again this time turning into a non busy alleyway. He crashes into the back of a truck and steps out of his vehicle. The man falls to the ground and lays there till his death because no one finds his body in time. The man happens to be Joseph Corvelzchik better known as the blue man who is the first person Eddie meets in heaven.

When the blue man was younger his father took him to work with him and when the foreman came around his dad told him, “Look down. Don’t make him notice you.” However he dropped his bag of buttons on the ground and the foreman told him that he was worthless and he had to leave. Since he was a nervous child he had an accident on himself and all the workers including the foreman laughed at him and because of that he would have accidents on himself every night. He would wake up every morning before his dad got up and he washed his sheets so his dad would not find out. Long story short he ended up going to a chemist to find medicine. They gave him silver nitrate which ended up later being claimed a poison. The silver nitrate ended up making him turn blue and he would scare other people when they looked at him so he got fired from his job. He ended up joining a circus which got him a job at Ruby Pier. Eddies father was a maintenance man at Ruby Pier. He would bring Eddie to the pier every Saturday while he played cards and would tell one of the other workers to watch Eddie. However Eddie just wanted to spend time with his father. If Eddie’s father would have never worked at Ruby Pier then Eddie would have never thrown the ball into the road.

Eddie and the blue man would have never crossed path if it hadn’t been for Ruby Pier. Ruby Pier brought them together and crossed their paths on that Sunday morning. In The Five People you meet in heaven it states, “We don’t meet people by accident. They are meant to cross our path for a reason.”
