The Hobbit

At the end of the book, The Hobbit, Gandalf tells Bilbo, "You are quite a little fellow in a wide world after all". Everyday, Bilbo does the same thing at the same time. He is not very adventuress and rarely has friends to talk too. Also, he is a very small guy. Bilbo does not stand out, he runs and hinds. Personally, I would not want to be a little fellow. Nor would I want to do the same thing all day, everyday. I enjoy being with friends and traveling from place to place. It excites me to discover new things. By no means am I antisocial, so i would most likely find it hard not to have company often. I love being with tons of people and I always put myself out there to meet others. I am glad that I am not a little fellow in wide world.

In The Hobbit, Bilbo states he is pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." I personally would not like to be a little fellow in a wide world because I want to see what the world has to offer. I like to experience new things, meet new people and enjoy life. I have danced since I was three years old, I love being on stage and the world is a stage. Dance has afforded me the opportunity to shed my insecurities and become more outgoing. I would rather live my life to the fullest rather than sit at home and drink tea. I am the type of person who takes risks and is not afraid to stand up to anyone or anything. If someone sits around and does nothing, they would be wasting their life. I would get bored to easily. I understand how Bilbo likes to be alone because sometimes I want to be alone in my own little world. The times alone are short lived for me. I would have to disagree with Bilbo when he is pleased to be "only quite a young fellow in a wide world after all."

The Hobbit

I can see why Biblo Baggins is content with being "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." Biblo enjoys a quiet, peaceful, and simple life. But I would not be happy as "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all," because i would feel like I was missing out on everything life has to offer. I think Biblo would rather stay in his comfort zone than experience life. But I think that is basically wasting a life. Biblo could make a difference in the world. He may only be a little hobbit but he has many talents. He is smart, brave, quiet, and sneaky. But Biblo only goes on one adventure and was forced to go.
Biblo should take more risks and go on more adventures. There is so much he could do with his life. If I was a hobbit I would take every opportunity I had to go on an adventure or just take risks. Biblo needs to learn how to come out his comfort zone and live life. After all, life is all about taking risks.

Bilbo agrees that he is a small fellow in a wide world after all. This meaning that he's content with living in a hobbit hole and drinking tea. During his time with Gandalf and the dwarves he learned the high life.He would rather his life over that. After his adventure thats what he did too.

I would be happy to be a small fellow in a wide world. The world that I live now is a wide world and would'nt be easy to stand out. I am not a celebrity nor do I want to be. A small life away from the city would be okay for me. Then I agree with Bilbo.

In the novel The Hobbit, Bilbo is pleased to be," only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all?". I would not be pleased to be a little fellow in a wide world. I would not like this because I don't think I could stand people looking down at me all the time. Also, I don't think I could take the jokes from people. Even if Bilbo was small and very helpful in the adventure, I think someone that was bigger would've be a better help. I think this because a bigger person would have more stamina, strength, and intimidation. A bigger person would have more stamina simply because smaller people have a smaller lung capacity. A bigger person would have more strength because they are bigger. A bigger person would have more intimidation than a hobbit simply because of the size factor. During the adventure when the dwarves were captured by the goblins, a bigger person would've helped more because he could've fended off more goblins. Also, a bigger person would have been able to carry the fattest dwarf, Bombur. Although a little fellow would have good advantages, a bigger peron would have more.

In the book, The Hobbit, Gandalf describes Bilbo Baggins as "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." Blibo is pleased with being "quite a little fellow in a wide world." After he has experienced a dangerous adventure that most people probably wouldn't have made it through, he would still prefer his normal lifestyle in his safe, little, hobbit hole. Which is perfectly fine, because that is his opinion. But me and several of my classmates choose to disagree with Mr. Baggins.
I, personally, could never be "quite a little fellow in a wide world." That quote simply means you don't really stand out in the world , your just kind of there and don't have any importance. Although it would probably be safer and easier, I most likely would be very bored and unhappy. In my life, I like to have fun, take risks, and be happy. My goal in life is to live it to the fullest. Whatever happens, no regrets, because everything happens for a reason. I couldn't live my life going unnoticed. I would like to someday make a difference in this "wide world". Simply following the crowd would not satisfy me. So instead of being "only quite a little fellow in a wide world", I would like to be remembered for the things I have done in my life. I would want to be someone other people would want to follow, a leader.

In the book, The Hobbit, Bilbo says he is pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all". I absolutely agree with him because there are many advantages to being little. For instance, if you were short, you couldfit and hide in places where taller people cannot get into. I would be joyful if I was a little fellow in a wide world. I would also like to be little because I could be sly about almost everything. Also, I could sneak around somwhere I am not supposed to be. In The Hobbit, Bilbo snuck behind Gollum because, I think, he was small and sly. Another advantage is that I could run faster than I could now. Although I may not be able to reach everything, being small has a lot of advantages. If I was tall than I would probably get spotted easier, and I could not hide in a lot of places. Another disadvantage of being tall is that I could not sneak around and spy on people. I agree with bilbo one hundred percent that being little is not a bad thing.

Reading Journal #1 The Hobbit

At the end of the book The Hobbit, Gandalf says to Mr. Bilbo Baggins he is "very fond of you, but you are only a quite little fellow in a wide world after all". I think by this he means, of all the people in a wide world, Bilbo has proved himself to be a very important person, maybe even one of the best. Bilbo says he is pleased with this, a big change considering in most of the book, he is wishing he was in his Hobbit hole drinking tea. He never wanted to go on this adventure, he is a type of person that isn't used to big quests such as this one.

I don't think I would want to be "only a quite little fellow in a wide world".

I would rather have a life like Mr. Baggins at the beginning of the book. A normal life of staying at my home suits me better than traveling all around. If you had asked Bilbo the same question at the beginning of the book, he would most likely say the same, but if you had asked him after the quest, his answer would be different. Perhaps if I did the same as Mr. Baggins, and went on an adventure and came back a hero, I would like to be "a quite little fellow in a wide world".

Blog #1 - The Hobbit

In the book, The Hobbit, Gandalf tells Bilbo in the end that "you are quite a little fellow in a wide world after all" and Bilbo is quite pleased. He dose not have a problem with being a “little fellow.” Bilbo does not preferably like going on adventures, he likes to just stay in his hobbit hole and smoke some tobacco. He was very hesitant at first when Gandalf and the dwarfs insisted him to go with them, this is because he feels content and safe in his hole. Therefore, he likes to stay home, doing the same routine day after day after day. I would not be satisfied with being only “a little fellow in a wide world.” Adventuring and traveling are a couple of my passions, it is something I love to do. I would love to discover the world and experience all the beautiful sites that need to be cherished. I would not be able to follow the same routine every single day like Bilbo. It would feel like I was not going anywhere in my life. I like to let life take its toll and enjoy everything that happens. I am really glad I am not “a little fellow in a wide world.”

The Hobbit

In ,The Hobbit, Bilbo says he is pleased to be, "Only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." Although being small has it's disadvantages, it also has it's advantages. I would be perfectly fine with being a very small person in a very large world. Being small means you get to be the center of attention most the time. It also means you don't have to bend down as far or carry around as much weight. Being small means you have many disadvantages also. It means you can't reach as many things, or usually lift as much weight as most others. Being really small would mean you can't participate in a lot of activities, such as carnival rides as well. I still wouldn't mind being small, because if that's the way God made me, or made anyone, they and I should be proud of it, which I would be. There are many things I stated good and bad about being a little guy in a big world. But no matter how many cons there are about it, I still would be happy with being, "Only quite a little fellow in a wide world." Therefore I agree with Bilbo's feelings about being the way he is.

A Little Fellow in a Wide World After All

Bilbo says that he is pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all," What this means is that he is fine with being small in a big world, because you don't have to be big and strong to be brave and powerful. This is a great life philosophy for him because, he lives in a world where there are many dangers. Being little helps him hide and sneak away. It also doesn't help him in many ways. He's not strong enough to fight off a group of ogres, but he's smart enough to persuade them to leave him alone.
I wouldn't want to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all," because I need to be big to survive in the world that I live in. Even though there are no goblins, ogres, or dragons in the world we live in, doesn't mean that you don't need protection. You also don't want to be too big, because then you might not live a healthy and normal life. So, in other words, I disagree and agree with Bilbo when he says that he is "pleased to be only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all."

Blog Assignment #1- The Hobbit

After all of the adventures that Bilbo Baggins had to take, he said he is pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." I would have to say that I agree and disagree with him. He likes being in his little, quiet hobbit hole. I would be very content with living alone, in a quiet home. Although I enjoy the quiet, I also disagree with Mr. Baggins. I love new challenges and new adventures. I enjoy exploring and learning new things. Bilbo did not. He wanted to be left alone in his home. He seemed quite annoyed when Gandalf and the dwarves intruded into his hole. He did not want homeless dwarves and a wizard to barge into his peacefulness. He especially didn't want to go on a wild adventure to slay a dragon! Despite the fact that Bilbo liked to be left alone, I have to agree with him, but disagree also.

Bilbo says that he is happy to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." I agree with Bilbo. Being small in a big world would be fun. You would have endless possibilities. You would not be the center of attention, just a small person. I would be happy to live like this. I would not like being the center of attention, in a small world. Everyone watching your every move, asking you for advice. To me this is a very sad existence. You would get no alone time or down time. That is why I agree with Bilbo. It is better to be, "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all."

After fending off trolls, discovering a ring in which made him invisible, escaping goblins, and also experiencing many other life-threatening and incredible events, Bilbo says he is pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." He wishes to stay comfortably in his safe hobbit hole on The Hill. I can not say that I blame Mr. Baggins. Being a hobbit, it must have been very difficult going days without food! After reading about his adventures and hardships, it is quite understandable why he prefers the comfort of his home.
Personally, I wouldn't be happy to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." Repeating the same routine every single day would grow old. Sure, I enjoy having a warm meal when I'm hungry and a cozy sleeping place when I'm tired. Who doesn't? Overall, however, I'd much prefer the excitement of an adventure. If along the way I struggle with a few hardships, so be it. It would make going home all the more worth it.

At the end of The Hobbit Bilbo says he is pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." I disagree with Bilbo. I would not like to be just a little fellow in a wide world after all. Bilbo is happy to sit in his hobbit-hole and never leave or venture out. I like to explore the unexplored I like being different from everyone else. I like to stand out in life. I could not just sit down and do nothing every single day. Many adventures bring much excitement to my life and excitement is exactly what my life needs. In the story Bilbo is certain that he is non-adventurous when he speaks with Gandalf but once he sets for the adventure he realizes there actually is some adventure in him. That was his chance to stand out, and stand out he does. If there is ever a chance for me to be different or stand out from everyone else in a good way I take it. Standing out in a different way makes me feel better about myself. It is better than just following the leader and doing what everyone else is doing. Bilbo admits to being pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in the world after all" and to avoid standing out but I am positive that I would not.
