Heroism

Everyone has their own opinion of what a hero is. Some may consider a hero to be brave and strong, such as a prince saving a damsel from distress. Others may think of a hero to be their grandfather who taught them how to play baseball when they were younger. Either way, the hero in the situation was being selfless and altruistic; they were considering the other person before them self. In my opinion, that is exactly what a hero is.
A single mother who is determined to support her family, the volunteers spending their weekends in a soup kitchen, or the soldiers who risk their lives to defend our wonderful country- these people are heroes because of their selflessness and their wanting to help others. In my life, my parents would definitely be my heroes. When I was first born, my parents had to work all the time in order to have enough money for our newly found family. One of the two would have to stay with me while the other worked. Then they would alternate. If it weren't for my parents' hard work and selflessness, who knows what kind of life I'd be living today? I'm very contented that we have our heroes in this world!

My Hero

My hero is brave like a warrior, enduring like a tank, and quick-witted like a war general. My hero is not one like Superman but one like a soldier. Someone who honors their country enough to risk their past and future to fight so that we have a free life is a brave hero. Anyone who works with a team to overcome obstacles most of us never have and never will face, all while fearing for their life and families is an enduring hero. My hero is one who can think strategically under pressure unimaginable and odds unfathomable is an intelligent hero. My hero is a hero that can endure being brave while making quick-witted decisions, under pressure that could make a man crack. My hero is a special type of person that fears no insane odds. This hero exists in few, but those few use their god-given gift to the fullest. This person is the person I can imagine in a dramatic war scene saving the lives of millions. This man is the one I see giving his lives for his family, home, and country. My hero is a soldier, a soldier who cares, a soldier who thinks about the safety and lives of others before himself. My hero is not imaginary, my hero exists in the United States Military.

Secret Heroes

When we were young we pretended that we could fly and save the world. We saw the good in the world and wanted to be part of it. When did we stop seeing the real heroes around us? Or stop wanting to be “just like them when we grew up”? There are heroes all around us, whether it’s the husband fighting in the war or the EMT who came to the rescue for a choking baby and her panicked mother. A hero can even be someone who gives a few encouraging words. With those few words they may change that person’s life forever without even realizing it. Everyone has the potential to change the world in some way. No matter how small they think it is, everyone has a hero inside of them. We walk by these heroes everyday without even realizing it. No, they don’t climb buildings, fly, swing from webs, or have superpowers but, they make a difference in the world. In the end that’s all that really makes you a hero. It’s not the powers you have but, the impact you have on the world and the people in it.

A hero is everywhere

A hero is a person that is brave and selfless. Many books and movies feature characters that are super heroes. These characters may do extraordinary things to save citizens from a harmful event, or rescue other characters from harm. Not all heroes have to have special powers. My heroes are the men and women fighting in the war. These soldiers are risking their lives to protect our freedom and our country. The courage and perseverance these soldiers have, is what a real hero is to me. Although, not all heroes are found fighting on battlefields, but are found in every day life. Even a neighbor or friend can be seen as a hero through someone’s eyes. A hero will help in the community, donate money to a special cause, or risk their life to save others in harms way. To be a hero you must have the passion and heart to protect others. So, whether fighting villains, doing great deeds, or helping others, a hero always saves the day.

Hero

Heroes have played a key role in society all over the world. Heroes have been around since the dawn of mankind. They have been around as far back as the ancient greeks and as present as modern day firefighters. The main quality a hero has to have is bravery.You may be the most unwise person alive ,but if you have the guts to run into a collapsing building that caught fire to save a little girl on the third floor, you are a true hero. Heroism comes from the heart of any human being. Heroism is the choice to do the right thing when someone needs help or whenever someone is struggling. Heroism can be shown in many different ways under many circumstances. Th perfect example of a hero is Odysseus. Odysseus saved his crew many times. Odysseus was extremely loyal to his crew and he saved his wife from the evil suitors that plagued his home. A good example of an everday hero would be a soldier. He bargains his life for our everyday freedom and rights. A soldier fights for his beliefs and his own country for the greater good of that entire country. The key role a hero plays in society today is extremely important. Without heroes in the world everybody would be the same boring person without any courage or kindness to help one another. Heroes are the people who no matter what will stand by a person in their time of need and help them. This is why the world needs heroes.

Heroism is In All of Us

Heroism to me is someone you rely on, and someone who helps you in a crisis; big or small. I have encountered many heroes in my life time. My whole family is made up of heroes. My parents have spent their money and time on feeding me, clothing me, and giving me a house to live under. This just shows you how important heroes are in the world. No matter what happens you will always have a hero there for you. Heroes can be the ones in fairy tales, like the prince who saved Rapunzel. Also, heroes can be firefighters, police, doctors, teachers, and basically anyone who helps the community. A very important hero would be someone serving our country in the Arm. A hero can also be a leader of a country, state, or city. Heroes come in all different shapes and sizes. If it was brought upon them, a child can be a hero. There are many stories that people hear about heroes and knights. These stories may seem like a fantasy but the heroes and knight of the real world do exists. Who know you may someday be a hero. Heroism is in all of us, you just have to find it.

Forget the Capes and Forget the Masks

The true definition of a hero is a person distinguished by exceptional courage, nobility, and strength, but that doesn't necessarily mean Superman or Spiderman. Although most people think of the stereotypical movie hero, I think of people such as firemen, police officers, my family, and God. The people who would give their lives to insure safety for others. Firemen and police officers put themselves in danger everyday to protect others, most of whom they are strangers to. That to me is a real heroic act, not some fake superhero from a movie flying around and saving the day. I also consider my family to be my heroes. My mom and my dad always do their best to make sure we have the things we want and need in life. They are always ready and willing to do anything and everything for my sisters and me, and for that, they are my heroes. Then there is God, the man that will never let you down. He who makes anything possible and will be there for you no matter what the situation is. These are all people who are willing to make sacrifices for others, so forget the capes and forget the masks. Find the real heroes in your life.

My Heroes

My definition of a hero is someone who teaches life lessons. I do not have a hero. I have heroes. My heroes taught me how to love, taught me how to share, how to use manners, and how to treat others. They also taught me how to be respectful, how to be honorable, and how to make friends. My heroes are my parents. I have never looked up to my mom more than my dad, and I have never looked up to my dad more than my mom. I have looked up to them as equals. They have always been there for me. From what I have been told, they always will be. They set great examples. They also help me learn right from wrong. My parents will continue to teach me many important things throughout my life, and I cannot wait to learn them. They can be call parents, guardians, and role models. The one thing I am most proud to call them are my heroes. Mom and Dad have been there with me through it all. My heroes will be there to catch me when I fall. That is why my parents are, and always will be my heroes.

He's Ordinary

"There goes my hero, He's ordinary." Dave Grohl, singer of the Foo Fighters, said in their song "My Hero". I believe that he is saying that a hero doesn't have to save lives or protect people. I believe we all have a personal hero as well. Not to say that all of our men and women in the police, army and armed forces aren't heroes. I'm just trying to say that regular people in our day to day lives can also be heroes too. I believe that to be a hero you have to be a role model in someones life and help advise them to a better future. You also need to always be there for them to encourage them. This is what a being a personal hero is about. someone you know who is trying to make a difference in your life and change it for the better. We all have a personal hero, even though some people don't know who. But there is a person in everyone's life trying to make a difference and encourage them.

Whats a Hero?

What does a hero mean today? A hero can mean someone that is always there for you,or someone that is helping out the community such as a policeman or a fireman. Well a hero to mean means that when someone does things for the right reason all the time,even when no one is looking and is always a hard worker. Well my uncle, named Eric Wilkes is my hero. He is my hero because he helps people know about Jesus Christ and he loves to do it and he does it anywhere and anytime. He would give a homeless person his shirt off of his back or give them money to get one,if they ask for one. He is just a type of person that loves everyone and never judges anyone. He also gives back to our church,such as giving them money, playing in the band on Sundays night,and during fundraiser helping out as much as he can. He told me story's when he was in Junior high that when a little guy got pick on by a bigger guy he would stick up for the littler guy,cause he knew it was not right to pick on someone. I wish I had the courage and bravery to stick up for kids getting picked on at school,cause I see it all the time and I know Eric would want me to. If that is not a good meaning of a hero then I do not know what is!

My Uncle, My Hero

What does a Hero mean to me today? My Uncle Steve is a hero to me. A true hero is someone who stands up for a cause they believe in. This can be as simple as being raised to do the right thing and help someone in need or in danger. But it is not just becuase of that, it can also mean taking a stand and willing to sacrifice everything for what you believe in. The perfect example of a hero to me would be someone, like my uncle, who serves in the military. Everyone knows someone who serves, such as a father, mother, sister, brother, husband, wife, uncle or aunt. We all are somehow affected by the love and dedication that these men and women give freely on a daily basis. When our nation calls these men and women are there to protect us, defend our freedoms, or help another country who is in harms way. These soldiers do not serve for the money or the glory. They serve to protect us and would give their lives without hesitation because this is what they have been called to do.

Everyday hero's among us

Hero's they are everywhere in your household, down your street, and almost anywhere you look. To me a hero is someone that is not afraid to stand up for what right and tell the truth about it. A hero also is someone who can tell the difference between right and wrong even if the right thing is necessary what they want. So, with this said who exactly is a hero? I believe a hero is a person like a local pastor. I believe this kind of person is a hero because they do know right from wrong and will tell the truth. Besides doing both of those things they also will always be there for you when you need them. Do not get me wrong there is many other hero's out there but I strongly believe pastors or men and women of God are the best.Other things great hero's do are they enjoy helping community's. Another great thing my kind of hero's do is lead many people to Christ which in the end is the greatest thing you can possibly do. So, In conclusion my idea of a hero is a man or woman of God. My Hero

When I think of a hero I think of my mother. Not only does she live each day encouraging others and showing nobility, but she also shows strength throughout the everyday battles she faces. See my mom has a long list of health issues. Fibromyalgia, a painful condition of the muscles and connective tissue, and Parkinson's disease, a common crippling disease characterized by muscle spasms and tremors, are only two of the many battles she faces each day. On top of that she has had to have her heart medically stopped and a rib removed. Even though my mom suffers all the time in sometimes excruciating pain, she doesn't let it bring her down. With all of these issues she still seems to put others before herself. My mom is a surgical scrub nurse which means she assists physicians in surgical procedures. She could easily being drawing a disability check each month, but instead she continues to change peoples lives through surgery. I also appreciate my mom for continuing everything she needs to do to take care of our family. She doesn't let anything get in the way of putting up with two teenagers. As I watch her put one foot in front of the other daily, I appreciate her strength and her diligence as she goes about living life.

Hero

There are many heroes in the world. They can be anyone frome your next door neighbor to a police man. A true hero is always loyal, caring, and there for you. A hero must be loyal because if you do not trust someone than how can they be your hero? A hero must be caring also because how will they be willing to help you in a time of need if they do not care about you. Also, a hero must be there for you in any situation. An example of a hero to me is my dad. My dad is a hero to me because of all the reasons that I listed. He was always there for me when I needed him. He always has taught me right from wrong and always will. Another reason he is my hero is because I trust him with my life. To me. thats a true hero, a person who you can trust with your life and who trusts you with theirs,

A Hero

Who is a hero? I think a hero is someone who stands up for other people. That's why I think anyone serving in the military is a hero. I mean think what they do for us. They protect our country. They are the reason we are free citizens. They have to be extremely brave. They to brave knowing they could die in battle. They are put through really hard training. They have to be really tough. They have to leave there home for years at a time. They make a big sacrifice to protect us. That is why I think they are hero's.
