We Are All Connected

“That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.”

To me, this means that although we all live our own lives, our everyday actions influence the future of others around us. What we do in our lifetime will have an effect on those who come after us, to follow in our footsteps. We are all connected by the acts of those before us in our past. We are raised depending on who we are born to. Because of certain people, we live certain ways. Anybody we have ever met in our lifetime has most likely affected us in positive and negative ways. Some more than others, but it still happens. Even though it might be little things that don’t mean much, that we never think much of, it connects us to millions of people. That is how I interpret the quote. That’s what it means to me, to be connected.

Connections .

When I first read this quote, I didn't understand it. It was very confusing to me. After I read the book I began to understand it. What does this quote mean to me? To me, it means that even a simple gesture can change a person's life. It doesn't matter what someone has done or been through. We can not seperate on person from another because no two people are the same, you just have to learn to accept them. To me this also means that a simple wave to someone is never random, it can always change the way someone feels about theirself. The way I see this is that people just need to be respected no matter what. This quote has become very meaningful to me. I try to remember this quote everyday because I really want to make a difference in a person's life. I also try to remember to accept everyone for who they are.

We Are All Connected

Before reading this book, the following quote never made me think in this manner. " That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate a breeze from the wind." However, I now see the importance of this quote. Our every day actions may seem unimportant to us, but in some small way could affect the life of another person. For example, I could say one mean thing to someone at school not knowing they are having some tough times at home. When they go home, they get on Facebook and someone comments something hurtful on a picture of them. That could then start a chain reaction and lots of people make comments that hurt this persons feelings. After so much negative feedback, they may become suicidal. This all began with my initial comments!

The actions that we don't think about affect more people than we realize. Many of Eddie's actions in this book were not situations he thought about. Eddie was also not aware of the outcome of his actions until reaching heaven. Not all actions leave a negative situation. For example, I say "God Bless You" when someone sneezes and I have done this so long that it is now like a reflex. We can do good things for others without thinking and should more often. If we won't to make our actions and words positive, we should think before we speak or take action. This small correction in our life can have a huge impact on someone's life. I hope that I remember and practice this quote more as my life continues.

Connection

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." Reading this the first time, I didnt know what to think. Reading it more and more i came to a conclusion what it means to me.
In life the things we do, like the way we act, treat people, dress, make more of an impact on people around you then you. If your siblings see you being cruel to people, they might grow up doing that. Then other people will see your sibling acting like that and think she acts cool and start doing the samething. So in reality we are all connected. The things we do can change or harm a person for the rest of their lives and not even know it. Lets take a councelar for example. A child comes in her office saying she will kill herself. The councelars decision can either make the child kill herself or save her life. So to sum up my blog is to say that we are all put here for a reason. We are all connected.

Life Changing Cause and Effects

     The prompt,"That there are no random acts.  That we are all connected," to me, means that every decision and action you make or do somehow affects someone's life.  It can be a big or little affect.  It can be good or bad. The affect can also be life-changing.  Every life is connected by the decisions of the people in those lives.

      A connection is shown by Eddie in the book when he chased the baseball into the street and the Blue Man killed himself trying to avoid him. The Blue Man's decision, even though it was a natural reaction, saved Eddie's life.  His decision showed the connection.  His action had a good effect for Eddie but the bad effect was towards himself.  The prompt teaches us to carefully choose our actions and decisions after we realize the consequences.  Even in split-second moments we should think about who would be affected by our decision, and how would it affect them.

We are all connected

The statement, "That there are no random acts," and "That we are all connected," makes sense to me. Everyone you meet could be very important in your life. It could be your friend, enemy, or even a complete stranger. People you meet change your life in ways you don't realize. They can save your life when you didn't even know you needed saving. They can also hurt you, which teaches you valuable lessons in life. Eddie for instance, was beaten frequently by his dad. This made him a better fighter in the war.

The people you are connected to can either make you something you want to be, or something you don't. You meet new people when you travel, go to school, or at a store. At least one of the people you meet at these places could impact your life. In conclusion, we are all connected to each other, friend or enemy. Keep that in mind and your life will turn out great.

Everyone effects you

               "There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." When I read this quote, I think about how people affect each other's lives. I realize that every person you meet has an effect on you. Whether it's lifelong or just for that second, the connection between people is there.
                  For example, a teacher or a friend could teach you a lesson that could change your whole outlook on life. If you were in a bad mood while shopping, a young child could lighten your mood simply by talking to you and making you smile. That child, a stranger, then affected you that day. The quote tells us that you cannot separate one stranger from another. They may not even be strangers after all. This is shown in The Five People You Meet in Heaven when Eddie met Ruby. They had never met before they got to heaven, but they played a part in each other's lives. Ruby affected Eddie because she told him things that changed him. After that, he forgave his father and was changed. So, everyone plays a part in other's lives; no lives can be separated.
               

Pay it Forward

    "Pay it Forward", a movie released in 2000, is a good example of how every individual is interconnected. Based on the premise of paying forward good deeds and helping out those in need, we are able to see that we are all connected in some way or another. You cannot separate an individual from another because what one person does could affect someone else's life. In the book "The Five People you Meet in Heaven" Eddie is confronted with the idea that every person is connected. I believe it is the truth because at one time or another, we all need help. Think about it. Do you remember when you were a baby and you needed someone to take care of you? You had to rely on your parents to feed you, change your diaper, and rock you. Do you remember when you were a toddler and you couldn't walk? You had to rely on someone to help you to stand. Do you remember when you first entered school, how scared you felt? You had to rely on your teacher to make you feel protected. Do you remember in junior high when you couldn't drive yourself anywhere? You had to rely on family to assist you. Now that I'm in high school, I look back and I think, "I honestly don't know where I would be without the support of other individuals." Though my needs have changed throughout the years, I still need the support of my family, my friends, and my teachers. We are all connected in the sense that at some point during our lives we have needed help and there was someone there to provide it.
        When I think about all of the experiences in my life, I realize that I have been extremely fortunate to have had people who are always there to help me. But I also can see now that it is not just a taking game. You have to give back what you have received. As a high school student, my teachers are helping me to improve not only academically, but also in life through the lessons they teach me. They would not be able to help me learn these lessons if someone had not taught them. Therefore, we return to conclusion that all lives are connected. I know from personal experience that you do not have to be an adult to give back. You, too, by helping someone who is struggling in a class, can repay a favor that someone else has done for you. Whether it be a grandparent, parent, friend, or total stranger, we are all connected by the deeds we do for others throughout our lifetime.

No Random Acts

This quote could take some awhile to ponder the meaning. As a Christian, this quote proves what we already know. That God indeed created all things, and gave them purpose. "That there are no random acts", confirms, that our lives were predestined before conception. Life is like a book and God is the author. He creates the setting, develops the characters, and the plot. He gives twist and turns throughout the story to make you believe the characters are controlling their fate. But, like any story, the author decides the outcome.

"That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This quote, to me, is speaking about the Creation. We are all connected through the bloodline of Adam and Eve. Our connection grows stronger with Salvation, which bonds us as brothers and sisters in Christ. God intertwines us all in "The Book of Life". We are taught at an early age right from wrong. That you never know who is watching and what influences you might have on some one's life. We are to act according to God's instructions. This book clearly revels this in the five lessons learned.

All Connected

The statement, "There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind," to me means you can't live life without being affected by or affecting someone else. Our words and actions affect everyone around us in some way. God has everything planned out for us and knows what will happen to each of us. Everyone we've met or will meet has been and will be for a reason. We may not know that reason at the time or we may never know. You can't separate these lives just as you can't separate a breeze and the wind. For example, Eddie getting his baseball ended up killing the Blue Man. This proves that even strangers can affect each other. Another example is you miss the bus and it later breaks down. In both situations, no one knew what would happen or why. This is what the statement means to me.

Connections

"There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more seperate one life from another then you can seperate a breeze from the wind." This quote may seem confusing, but when it comes down to it, it's simple. The quote is basicly stating that we are all connected in some way, there's no way we can seperate us from each other.
The wind and breeze are two things that could never be seperated, its impossible. Just like trying to seperate the connections between the most complete strangers in life, it can't be done. We may not know it, but we all have an affect on each others lives. Wether is is a major or minor affect, things will never be the same just by the slightest interactions between us humans. Like when Eddie ran out to fetch his ball in the road, he did not realize the affect of it would be that he would kill someone. But it is like every situtation in the novel, all of the good and bad things happend to Eddie for a reason. He did not realize it durning his time on earth, most of us do not either, but the things in his life had to happen. God has planned out our whole life, even the little things. Just like if your alarm doesn't wake you in time to catch your plane, it could stop you from getting on a plane that would soon crash. There is nothing random about the acts in this story and in real life, we are all connected. We don't realize the littlest things could make the biggest difference in someones life, or eventually, your own.
We are all connected, and their is no way we can seprate ourselves from each other.

Blog Assignment #1

The following quote, " That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." means that everything and everyone are going to be connected no matter what. Everybody knows someone and whatever you do will eventually affect someone else. For instance, Eddie saved the little girl at the amusement park because he cared about her. Even though he didn't know her, he risked his life to save her then ,eventually he ended up dying, and she continued her life on Earth. Therefore, you can not separate yourself from anyone because we all end up being apart of something, or there's always a connection between you and someone else. Like, the Blue Man in the story The Five People You Meet In Heaven ,for example,the Blue Man was affected by Eddie's decision to run in the middle of the street to retrieve his ball. And the Blue Man was distracted for a brief moment and ended up swerving and minutes later, was dead because of an accident he had that day. As you can see, none of them knew each other, but they were both affected in the long run.
So, I believe when they say that," you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind," they are simply saying you can't have breeze without the wind. Because these two are a package deal, they are meant to be together as one. So everyone is meant to come together for a purpose. It doesn't really matter why we have to; it's God's decision. Our life depends on one another, and we basically survive off of one another. The point is we need each other, and we are all attached to one another. We cannot be separated. As one life starts, another one must end!

The Five People You Meet in Heaven

At first I didn't quite understand the effect we all have on each others lives. Every act in my life effects the people around me in one way or another. If I was never born would my friends hang around with someone else. Would someone still be alive. Or maybe if I wasn't here someone else would be dead. The chain of events that surround our lives is complex and never ending. Even after we die we effect people's way of life without ever realizing it. We can never comprehend the things that would happen if we separated one breeze from the wind. It just isn't possible. We might as well try to take the yellow out of a lion or the salt from the ocean. Everyday we cause a new chain of events to occur and we can never change the things we do. All we can do is live our lives and let the wind blow freely with every breeze we add on to it.

To me, this quote means just what it says. We are all connected. I never really thought about it until I read "The Five People You Meet in Heaven", but it's so true. For example, imagine that your doing a project for school, and your teacher pairs you up with a person that you've never even talked to before. You start talking to the person, and by the end of the school year, the two of you are best friends. If you would have had the opportunity to pick a partner for yourself, you probably would have chosen one your friends, and never would have even talked to the person. It doesn't end there. What if that particular teacher had quit, or taken a job at another school? Chances are, you wouldn't of even had any classes with that person that your now best friends with. The decisions you make now, even the smallest ones, can have lasting affects on not just you, but others. Another example is maybe your mom is taking your dog to the vet and your mom asks you to come with her. You decide to go with her and after seeing what vets get to do, you decide that one day you want to be a vet. That helps determine what college you want to attend, and while at college, you meet the person that you will marry. It's a chain reaction. Whether you realize it or not, in some way, we are all connected. So next time, before you act, think.

We are all connected in a way

What does this quote mean to me? At first I didn't understand what this quote meant. Once I finished the book this quote made more sense to me. This quote really got me thinking about what it really means to me. To me this quote means that even little acts, like smiling at a random person, can affect their life. Everyone is put on the Earth for a reason. For example, somebody could be having a bad day and some random person walks by and smiles at them. This simple, little act could make they day a thousand times better. Just like in the book, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, if Ruby had never met Emile then Ruby Pier would have never been built. If Ruby Pier would have never been built ,then Eddie's father wouldn't have had a job there. If Eddie's father hadn't died ,then Eddie would have spent his entire life as a taxi driver and wouldn't have met any of the people he met at the pier. This proves that even the smallest acts can have a huge impact on other peoples lives even if you don't know them.
