                "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This quote is relevant to the book, as it is also relevant to our lives. It illustrates a comparison between our lives and a chain reaction. Have you ever seen a chain reaction model, where one objects set another object in motion, and so on and so forth? You probably have, now if we were to apply this into our lives we would notice that one selfless act causes another selfless act, and somewhere down the line a magnificent act would come. On the other hand, lets look at something like abortion. One lie from Satan is the beginning of the chain reaction which causes the father to think that he isn't responsible, then the father convinces the mother that the child isn't worth it, which leads to catastrophe. The great things in life, and the horrible things in life all comes down to either one simple act of kindness, or of anger. If kindness starts a reaction, then only kindness can end the reaction. You can think of this like a graph, the origin is the start of he reaction, if it is a positive reaction then it will incline only in a positive way, if it is a negative reaction it can only get more negative, the two cannot go together. "That there are no random acts," means that every reaction was started for a purpose and you are a part of it, therefore, it is not random. "That we are all connected," every part of the chain reaction is essential. "That you can no more separate one life from another as you can separate a breeze from the wind," a reaction cannot end negative if it was started positive, and a chain reaction cannot end positive if it was ended negatively.

The quote “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind” means to me that everything in our lives happens for a specific reason. If it happens, then it was meant to happen even if it didn’t benefit you. Whether we want to believe it or not, every single person in our life has made a difference. I know that this week I have made a difference in many people’s lives by going to a homeless shelter and serving food to women and children. An action that you make could be bad for you, but it could change someone’s life drastically. We must all be aware of our actions, because we never know the outcome. The second part of this quote is saying that everyone is connected in one way or another. We may have different names, but we are all still related. God puts certain people in our lives to make a difference even if we don’t notice it at the time. Each person in our lives are meant to cross paths with us during our lifetime. God works in mysterious ways, but he already has my life planned out. He puts specific people in my life to make a difference for the better or the worse. That is what this prompt means to me.

In my perspective, I believe Mitch Albom revealed this quote to his readers to reach out to people, to make a difference that changes lives. After reading  The Five People You Meet in Heaven this quote to me means that everything we do truly does have an impact on the lives of others. Our actions, whether positive or negative, affect people sometimes in a way that we never imagined. We often don't realize it, but God has a way of letting one's presence in our life teach us, help us, and guide us in order to create an impact that serves as a positive influence. For example, Eddie met five people in heaven that in some way throughout his lifetime molded and shaped him to have a new perspective of his life here on Earth. The short amount of time spent with these people all pointed to one conclusion; Eddie's lifetime maintained a great purpose. Often God sends people to our rescue and uses them as an eye-opener for His glory. This is the exact reassurance that Eddie was in desperate need of. Also, God has a plan for everything-therefore nothing is considered random. In the Bible, Romans 12:5 serves as proof that we are the body of Christ; our lives are all connected for His purpose. This scripture says, "So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."

To me, “There are no random acts. That we are all connected .That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind” means that everything has a purpose. If someone does something in your life, it has a reason. God puts people in our lives for a reason, and they can either help or hurt you. He could put a bad person in your life to test you to see what you would do. The person could be impacting your life, or you could be impacting theirs. The thing you do could be bad or good. For example, someone could drive out in front of you and make you stop, but if they hadn’t made you stop, you would’ve run into an 18-wheeler. As you can see, someone you don’t even know or meet could do something in your life. The part that says you cannot separate one life from another like a breeze from the wind means you can’t control the acts that will happen. Whether you try to control what you do or what other people do, you can’t. Going back to the example with the 18-wheeler, if you tried to keep going and not stop you would run into the car that pulled out in front of you. God does amazing things in your life, and sometimes you won’t even know.

This quote from the novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven has a very strong message. God has a way for making all of our choices fit together like a puzzle, connecting one another's life to each other. The choices we make today can have an effect on people’s lives years from now.  From acts that we make, people’s lives will be impacted, some with good impact, some with tragedy. We all may think we're doing the right thing by making a decision and we might, but who knows all the people it could affect.  It’s not our fault if we do well, but someone still gets hurt by it. It’s not our choice to whose life we affect, we just continue to go on with our own, not stopping to see.  It's how God planned it out for us. All of our choices are like puzzle pieces, and in the end, only God knows where to put every piece and how it will fit. To me, this quote means that we don't know how or why or when, but eventually we will all be connected. So we have must choose our actions wisely, because we don't know how they'll affect others.

To me, the quote is saying that no matter how hard we try to convince ourselves the little things we do don't affect other people, they do. We have no idea who we have affected, or will affect, in our lives. This proves we must always be conscious of our actions. We often choose to believe that our choices only have consequences for us. However, every choice comes with an action and our actions can change other people's lives. For better or for worse, we don't-and may never- know. Any small gesture of kindness towards someone else could have an impact on their life. The same is true for ignoring the opportunity to do something nice. In life, there are many chances to do the right thing and the choice is ours whether we take it or not. God makes sure that nothing is random; every story fits together to make an even better story. There is no splitting your life from someone else’s. We may never find out how we interfered in another’s life until we meet our five people in heaven.

            The Book  The Five People You Meet in Heaven is a very diverse story. It's diverse in its characters and problems but amazingly they're all connected. The quote "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." To me that really goes with the stories in the book that Eddie learned and to me it means whatever you do in life it affects people. On Earth our choices we make have an impact on the people around us or even people you don't know. I think the big picture is we are literally all connected through what we say and do. Which gives just a simple action a lot of responsibility. I think it's important to realize that anything you do can affect or even change a person's life. Even when you make a mistake that you think nothing good can result from it you never know sometimes that one thing teaches other people not to make the same bad decision. Or even when you make a simple choice it might affect someone in a huge way. Ultimately everything you do has a purpose in itself and on the life of someone else.

The quote, “There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind,” to me, basically means that everything that happens in our lives is meant to be, whether we want to believe it or not. This quote is also saying that in some way everyone’s lives are connected and it’s impossible to change or to become unconnected. Whether something good or bad, as in life or death, or sickness and health, is happening to you, someone you may have never met in your life is always either benefiting or suffering. Everything we do in life as humans, whether it’s making a small mistake, telling a lie, making a sacrifice, getting in an accident, or even something as simple as laughing, can affect just one person or maybe even hundreds of people. Like in this book, Eddie had no idea who The Blue Man or Ruby was until he got to heaven and realized that The Blue Man basically sacrificed his own life for Eddie to live and that Ruby made Eddie’s life, without her he would be who knows where, but he wouldn’t have a job and his life would be completely different. Everyday our lives are affected by people we have never heard of. Have you ever felt like it was the end of the world for you? While you were stuck in your own little world thinking about yourself did it ever occur to you that somewhere in the world your tragedy created a celebration for someone or that maybe some one was suffering worse than you? Well, if you have, good for you, and if you haven’t, I’m right there with you. Until I read this book, I never realized how much our lives were truly connected and that everything we do is affecting someone else. I would have never known that sacrifices are a part of life and that by making a sacrifice, again, helps another person significantly. If I would have had to answer this question before I  read this book my answer would have been, simply stated, everything happens for a reason, and go on to quickly sum that up in twelve sentences. But since I read the book, I can confidently say that this quote means, even if we don’t want to admit I, while we think our life can just end and no one would care or if we feel like the happiest person on the planet, someone, somewhere, in some way, shape, or form can be dying while we celebrate, or while we’re mourning someone else can feel the exact opposite because of us. It may be hard to understand, but it happens, and everything does happen for a reason. People’s lives are drastically changed everyday and we may not even be aware of it, but it affects our lives too. That is what this prompt means to me.

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This-to me-means that we all play a role in each other's lives. There are no random acts because everything you do has an impact on someone's- or more than one person's- life. The effect you have on them may be small or large, good or bad, but it changes them all the same. Just like you can't "separate a breeze from the wind," you can't separate one person's life from another. God has a specific reason for everything that happens in our lives. We may not understand or think something is unfair, but it's all a part of His greater plan. It's like the story of what happened to Bethany Hamilton. She was just a normal surfer from Hawaii until a tragic shark attack left her with one arm. But despite all of that, God used-and is still using-Bethany in extraordinary ways. She has inspired so many people and shared the love of God while doing so. None of that would have been possible in her life before the accident. And just like the attack that took one of Bethany's arms was "no random act," the same goes for everything that happens in our lives. There are no coincidences or chance encounters in life. Only God knows the perfect plan he's made special for every one of us.

In my opinion, this quote says that because everyone is connected, things happen for a reason. Something may happen to one person and they don't understand why, but at the same time it is impacting someone else. Mistakes people make could change someone's life and they don't even realize it. God put people in our lives for a reason, because he knows how they are going to change you. Each person you meet, know, or only see once in your life most likely has impacted your life in someway or another. The second part of the quote means that because everyone around you has impacted you or made something around you or in you change, each life is tied together. Each person is tied together with many other people and cannot be separated from them because of the impacts they have on each other. One person could be tied together with someone they don't even know. All life is connected, and how you act decides who and what you are going to impact. Either way you are connected to each other. If something happens out of the blue to someone, it isn't random; it was caused by someone they are tied to. I think about it this way; everything I do is impacting someone else, and everything happening to me is because of someone tied to me.

What "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more seprate one life from another than you can seperate a breeze from the wind." means to me, is that even the smallest of acts can have thr biggest of effects. One act sets off another. A simple act of kindness can turn someone's day around. An act of disrespect can have the same impact but in a negative way.
My cousin lost his life to a foolish choice. He made the decision to go out with his friends late one night. They had told him they were going to a bar and they wanted him to go. He and his friends were seniors in high school at the time. He had the chance to say no, but he went with them. Later that night after they left the bar, they backed into another car and instead of getting out and facing the conciquinces, they drove off and were chased. They decided not to stop for they feared they would be in a lot of trouble when their parents found out they had been drinking and they had been in a wreak. This decision is what ultimatly caused the death of four of the six that were in the car. They were chased and they ran off the road crashing into a ditch. The saddest part of this story is that they crashed at the beginning of the road I live on.
Everyday I have to pass the place where my favorite cousin lost his life by making one small stupid decision of getting into that car. From his choice I have never ridden in a car with someone who has been drinking before they drove. I am very cautious around adults who have been drinking, for I know that bad choices never end well. This was a relativly small choice he made. To get in the car or not. By this choice he also affected many people's lives. Everyone he loved and that had loved him, are now living without him.

God's Purpose for Us

          Why am I here? What is my life good for? These two statements are commonly expressed in everyday life. People just don't know how much they mean to other people's lives. "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." In my opinion this statement is saying that God has put you on this Earth to impact the lives of others. It may be friends, acquaintances, or even strangers. Some people might not like having others' lives intertwined with theirs, but they can't change that. Nothing can separate one from another. This book has opened my eyes to the wonders and preciousness of life.

Everything happens because it was meant to happen. If Eddie would not have chased after the baseball, his brother threw, the Blue Man would not have died. He would have lived on, but if the Blue Man would not have died, he might have killed Eddie. 
     The second sentence means we are all connected in one way or another. Even though we might have different last names, we are still related. Every life can not be separated  because we all came from the same ancestors and our lives are intertwined.
    The third sentence, in my opinion, means that we are all the same. The breeze and wind are related because the wind is composed of many breezes. Since the breeze and the wind are related, this means that all our lives are connected.

I believe this prompt is saying that God puts people in our lives for specific reasons. No one can alter the path He has chosen for us because it's already planned out. Every person we meet is meant to cross paths with others, it's never random. Whether they change our life for better or worse, these people were destined to interact with each other. People can't change their appearance or race because it's not up to them. There are greater forces at work in each life. Just as you cannot "separate a breeze from the wind", life is controlled by a higher power. People wish to change or control it sometimes, but it's out of their reach. Every person is a part of many people's lives for this same reason.  For example, our family was given to us for a purpose. Our parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents were all meant to be connected to us. This quote makes me think of all my family and friends. They're special because they were chosen especially for me, and me for them. I haven't met people by accident, but by God's will.

  With each person Eddie met in Heaven I was taught a life lesson . With the first person , The Blue Man , I learned that there are no random acts in life . All incidents are entwined someway .With the second person , the Captain , I learned that whenever you loose something , you often gain something . I learned this because Eddie lost his leg pretty much , but he gained his life . With the third person , Ruby , wife of the original Ruby Pier Owner , I learned that you have to let things go . She taught me this because she lost almost everything whenever the pier burnt down but she did not hold a grudge and become bitter and angry , she just let it go . With the fourth person , Marguerite , Eddie's wife , I learned that whenever you loose someone who meant very much to you , you can't let that leave you bitter and sad . Life goes on even when things go horribly wrong . Finally , with the last person , Tala , I learned that everyone has a reason for living and everything you do has purpose . I was taught this because whenever Tala was in the fort , she caused Eddie to try to help her but in the long run , she ended up loosing her life and causing Eddie an injury but if not for that , Eddie would have never got the job at the Pier , keeping the children and adults safe on the ride . This book was very life changing .
