The Blue Man's Quote (Blog Post #1- The Five People You Meet in Heaven

     "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no longer separate one life from another can you separate a breeze from the wind." This quote means to me that you always influence the lives of others. God puts you in others' lives in some way, shape, or form for a reason. You may not realize the impact you have on their lives, but you may save a life by something you say or do even if you just think it's the right thing to do. For example, even a small offering to a church fund that seems to be pointless in your opinion, may drastically change the life of a person you never knew existed. Or, you might send a text to someone in a bad situation and turn their entire life around. However, it could also affect both people. If you sit down in an accountability group or even just a group of people you really trust and have a deep, long talk about things that are bothering each other and things you regret then give and receive advice and support, everyone is most likely affected by the talk. Even things that people have used to influence your life you might use and influence someone else's life. God puts people in your life and puts you in other people's lives. Everyone's stories are connected, interlinked, whether we realize it or not. God knows your entire story, even the parts you don't even know. He makes it to where we are part of His plan. Even though the smallest things can affect your future, it still works into God's plan for the world.

"There are no random acts. That we are all connected. You can no more seperate one life from another than you can seperate a breeze from the wind." This quote explains the affect that our actions, as individuals, have on each other. Life is like a giant spider web. Each life is a strand of silk, and each strand is connected. If one strand breaks, it changes the whole dynamic of the rest of the web. Suddenly, there may be more strain on the strands at the top because they are trying to keep the rest of the web from fraying. Our lives are all intertwined. Everything we do affects some one else. Whether it be setting a good example for a small child, or crashing into some one's car, killing the other person. Some may call this fate, whereas I call it God's plan. He gives us the opportunity every day to make a choice, already knowing which path we shall take. He places others' paths across ours, knowing that we will affect eachother. The outcome may be good; the outcome may be bad. But in the end there is a lesson learned, and we always come out stronger than we were before.

This quote means that everything happens for a reason. God makes every little thing happen for a reason. Whether it is negative or positive, he always has a reason. For example when someone dies another is born. "We are all connected." This means we all influence peoples lives. God makes us do things to have an effect on others. It may be things such as saying "good morning" or telling your mom you love her before you leave for school; when doing so making your mother have a positive outlook for the rest of the day. All because God gave you the idea to tell her four simple words. On a larger scale, in The Five People You Meet in Heaven, the blue man swerves out of the way avoiding running over the child Eddie. Saving Eddie, but killing himself from a heart attack. That is what I interpret this prompt to mean.

        Mitch Albom, the author of The Five People You Meet in Heaven, had a purpose when he wrote the story. He was trying to reach his readers and teach them an important lesson. "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This quote simply explains that everything in life happens for a reason. God is like a great artist. The artist takes their time and each stroke is thought out and carefully placed. Like the artist, God makes each decision carefully and thinks about what's best for each person. All of these careful strokes eventually turn into a wonderful work of art. The works of art can be compared to a person and their life. God's careful decisions make each of us who we are. The artist eventually makes more works of art and they turn into a collection of pieces. The pieces are connected by similarities in the artist's style and vision. God connects each person like a piece of his own collection and nobody can separate themselves from God's collection. There are dark and bright spots in every piece of art, but they always meet the artist's expectations. God, like the artist, is always proud of his end results. We as viewers and humans sometimes don't always see the vision the artist has in mind, but it all makes sense in the end. Mitch Albom was trying to tell us that we can't choose our fate and the piece of art we turn out be is God's choice.

This means that everything happens for a specific reason. From the beginning to the end,God has our whole life planned out for us.No matter how different our lives are, they are all somehow connected to each other. The way that we live our lives and what we do affect how other people live.

      Everything that happens to us is no mistake, it happens for a reason. What we do is all a part of a bigger picture that God has planned out for us. The decisions that we make in our lives are very important. All the choices that we make affect how other people will go about their day. A simple kind gesture to someone can change their whole day. No matter what impact we have on each other, positive or negative, we are all connected.

That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." to me, means that what every you do that may seem pointless, it was done for a reason. Fate brought the action into the world not for you but for the people around you, because it may effect them more than you think. Everyone is connected some how in some way. Whether its through genealogy, or a person you saw in public. Those people that you are connected to are connected to thousands of other people. Since you know that one person, thousands of stranger are connected to you, and the thousands of people for each of those thousands of people. These random acts bring you closer to more people. There is no escaping that fact that everyone is connected. You would have to have never seen a person in your entire lifetime to not be connected to anyone. That is something no human being has ever done. The prompt will remain true until that happens. That day is far from now I believe. So keep this in mind, you may just find a reasons for things you've done in your lifetime.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven Blog Post

"There are no random acts.  We are all connected.  You can no more separate one life from another than you can a breeze from a wind."

To me this quote is the view of fate and destiny as viewed by the author and many others.  This way of thinking suggests that we are set on a predefined path from birth to death. We don't know our paths and we cannot change them.  Everything we do is decided by fate, as is everything that happens to us.  There is no randomness in the things that happen. The fact that Mrs. Dupuy chose this book for our summer reading was not random, nor are the ways that it has affected us.

The quote mentions that we are all connected. This includes people who we do and don't know.  It's easy to see how some people have affected us, like our parents, friends, and other people we have formed relationships with.  Others are not so clear, like Eddie and the Blue Man's relationship.  Eddie's one action completely changed (and ended) the Blue Man's life.  Although it seemed they didn't have any connection what-so-ever, it is later revealed that Eddie attended his funeral, not even knowing that his actions killed the Blue Man.

The fact that we are all connected is unchangeable.  You can't alter your fate. You cannot be separated from the souls you are entwined with.  Whether you affect each other in good or bad ways, fate has put you together for a reason.  The reason may be unknown to you, but in the greater scheme of things it will all come together.

In conclusion, the random acts are not so random and with every thing we do another life is affected and put back onto the path that fate has set out for them.

This statement means to me that there are no accidents. Good can come out of a bad situation. It can lead you to meet a new friend or maybe someone who might become your best friend. Sometimes you might not get exactly what you want, but by not getting what you want might give someone else something they need. God has a plan for us all, we just have to be patient and have faith that when it happens, if it's not what we want or how we planned it to be, it's all apart of something bigger than us. The decisions we make in tough situations can effect other people in a good or bad way depending on how we handle the whole situation. Even the smallest things we do can make the biggest difference in someones life. It could completely turn their life around. Like the Blue Man swerving his car so he wouldn't hit Eddie when he was younger. It cost the Blue Man his life, but saving little Eddie's. Giving Eddie the chance to live his life , and in the end sacraficing his life to save the little girls life at the amusement park.

To me, this quote can interpreted in many different ways. One can see it scientifically; about how people are connected by bloodlines and ancestors. Or, how the results of a physical action can effect everyone. To me though, I see it more in a fate-inspired way. I see it as God connecting us all like a giant connect the dots picture. Everyone you meet in life serves a purpose. God puts certain people in our lives to teach us a lesson. Some times the lessons hurt and you learn that even though the lesson my have pained you, the lesson pays off and something great happens in return. You just have to keep in mind that all things happen for a reason. Anything you do or say or even think can effect somebody. By doing even the littlest things, such as leaving a shoe on the floor, or telling someone their hair looks nice, can have a huge impact on somebody. So however you see it; scientifically or by fate, I think we can all agree that we are all somehow connected and it really is a small world in the long run.

This quote means to me that everything happens for a reason. You may not understand why or think it's unfair, but it's all part of God's plan for us. God has a way of making all of our decisions in life fit like puzzle pieces connecting everyone's lives. From the actions that we make daily,we impact peoples lives positively and negatively. The effect on them may be small or large, good or bad, but you're still changing their lives. For example, a posivite impact would be acknowledging someone and bringing a smile to their face. A negative impact would be fighting with one another or even a simple frown. Something could seem so small and insignifigant to us, but it could mean the world to another person. We were all created unique.

         Everything we do doesn't always have a strong reason, but the effect is more than we could imagine. The effect isn't always our fault though. If we knew the effects of all our actions then we would all create a future in the present. Then when everyone's actions were combined the effect would still be quite surprising. Sometimes a "bad" action is needed for a "good" outcome. But then we can't know that can we?

This means little to nothing to me since most of our acts that we perform are in a state of mind. As we perform them we focus on a primary goal or effect. Anything else means nothing. I consider this a weakness, but I also consider it nature. Some people break nature. These people have a considerable gift, but a burden in another's eyes. To sum it all up, even true as that statement may be, there isn't much we can do about it.

     Even since I was a child, I have always had the suspicion that there are no random acts. I have always felt that every human being on Earth has a connection with another no matter how far away. There has been many experiments to test this theory, and the end result is that there is an average of 7 degrees of separation between every person  from one point to another. No matter what you do, that action always has an effect on another person. Even something as simple as oversleeping has an effect. If you oversleep you can miss the bus, if you miss the bus someone else can miss the bus do to the fact that it came earlier because it did not use time slowing down and stopping for you to get on.

    A breeze and a wind have very similar definitions, but they are not the same thing. This is the same thing with human beings. Although we might share aspects with other human beings, we can never truly be the same thing at heart. Even if you have an identical twin you are not the same simply because that person is not you and will never be you. You can look the same and even act the same but, but you can do different things in life and not have the same memories as your twin so you are not the same person. I believe that God made us our own person not to be the same, but to be different in our own special ways. But in the end we all play out as we were supposed to and created the picture we were meant to create. Much like the way the wind and a breeze move a tree. This is what the passage "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another that you can separate a breeze from the wind." means to me as an individual.

The quote “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind” means to me that everything in our lives happens for a specific reason. If it happens, then it was meant to happen even if it didn’t benefit you in a positive way. Whether we want to believe it or not, every single person in our life has made a difference in it. I believe that God placed them in our life to test us on how we choose to respond to the situations and people we come upon in our lifetime. When the Blue Man says, 'That you can no more separate a life from another...', he means that we can't take out the people we don't want in our lives out. Therefore we cross paths with people we may not have wanted to have passed in life. I know that I have affected peoples' lives in positive and in negative ways. Some know this but some of my affections may have been very subtle or unknown. Although we may not understand this, God will always guide our lives the way wants it to go, for better or worse. We have to use these people's lessons in our lives to live a better life.  This is what the quote made by the Blue Man at the beginning of The Five People You Meet In Heaven means to me.

That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” To me this means that everything we say, everything we do, and everything that happens has a purpose and can make an impact on a life. Things people did years ago such as creating the television had an impact on lives for many years and is still impacting lives. That’s just one big thing that impacted lives. Little things count too even though we may not notice it. For example, saying hey to someone could bring a smile to that person’s face, and that bit of happiness could carry on through that person showing an act of kindness to someone else and so on. That one word being said could end up bringing happiness to an entire town of people. Although sometimes a person could impact a person’s life in a negative way. This could happen through a fight between friends, violence at school, or even at home. Whether it is technology, an act of kindness, or violence all these things are how we connect with each other and how we all impact each others lives. Everything we come in contact with in our lives forms opinions, thoughts, desires, and how we chose to live. They also play a major roll in how we present ourselves to each other. They’re all what makes us who we are, and though we may not understand why things happen God put them in our life for a reason.

This quote tells you that nothing in our life is a mistake. God puts people or things in your life to either teach you a lesson or have an impact on them, or vice versa. He has our lives planned out for us. All of our actions affect the people around us, even if it's a small thing such as picking up a nail out of the road. If you hadn't picked it up, I garuntee you that there would be one angry person calling for roadside asisstance. Sometimes, the worst things can happen to the best people, simply because of one person's choice or descision. I like to think that we are a lot like dominoes. One movement from any of us, and we all spiral in a different direction.
In conclusion, we aren't perfect, we make rash descisions, and we make mistakes everyday. If we knew the outcome of our actions, I think we would all be more careful, but we don't. The only person who can see the next chapter in our life is God alone. After all, we are his children. The best we can do is pray that we do the right things, take it day by day, and think before we act, because as the quote says, we are all connected and everything we do effects someone or something out there. I guess we'll see when we meet our five people in heaven.
