Is It Luck Or Is It Character

     The literary character that I have chosen is "Logan" in the story "The Lucky One". This book is not my absolute favorite but I can very much relate to the main character.
     In this story, Logan finds a picture of a beautiful woman while fighting a war and he promised himself he would one day find her. It wasn't easy but he did find her. It was because of his determination not to give up that he was able to find her.
     I can relate to Logan in so many ways because when I set a goal for myself I never give up until that goal is completed or accomplished. When Logan struggled with something in life he always had a positive attitude and always tried his best, which is also one of the many things we have in common.

Weasley is Our King

                To most people Ron Weasley is just another ginger who plays a big role in a book, but to me he is my king. Ron Weasley is Harry Potter’s right hand man. While he is not the smartest out of his six brothers and sisters, he is surely the most memorable. You might think that after his first encounter with dangerous magical creatures, Ron would have left harry in the dust.  However this is not true, Ron is always there for Harry. One reason I admire this red headed goof ball because of his loyalty to his friends and family. No matter what the situation is, he is always ready to fight. Situations arise throughout the series where Ron must go against his biggest fears to protect his best mate Harry. I think this is one way Ron and I are alike; we will do anything to protect the ones we love. Weasley’s unique sense of humor and temper are quite entertaining, and his noble acts inspire me more than anyone else in the literary world.  These are just some of the reasons why, like stated in the fifth book, Weasley will always be my king.

Surviving With Love

Peeta is my favorite literary character. I admire his personality. He is sweet, funny and outgoing. I thoroughly enjoy his humor throughout the story. I’m like Peeta because I also am outgoing. Like Peeta, I may seem shy and weak underneath, but in reality both of us are strong and have no enemies. Peeta kept my attention by showing his love for Katniss. He made the story line more interesting and entertaining. He also made Katniss look better. Peeta makes you think of how you would handle the situation he was put in. I admire his life- saving concept of romance. Peeta is an effective and admirable literary character that improves the story line of The Hunger Games.

The Maze Runner

My favorite literary character is Thomas from the book The Maze Runner. The story begins as Thomas wakes up in darkness. He cannot remember a single thing about himself besides his first name. He soon arrives in a place called "The Glade" where there are other teenagers in the same situation. The Glade is enclosed by massive walls that open and close every day and lead into a nearly impossible maze. The "creators" have sent teens here to see if they can figure out how to get out of the maze. There is one problem though: the maze changes every day! Some of the boys have lived in the glade for three years and still have yet to find a way out. But there is something special about Thomas. He's no super-hero, but brave and courageous. He never gives up and is determined to be what they call a "Runner". The runners go out into the maze every day to study it and try to find a way out. They must be quick, smart, and brave for many reasons. One of those reasons are that the walls close every night and if you are not back before they do, you will be stuck in the maze with terrible half-machine half-monsters. I admire this character so much because he never gives up despite the situations he must face. He does not know what he might face if he beats the maze, but he is willing to give everything to protect the people around him and find a way out. This character inspires me to live life in a way that will always be prepared to face the impossible.

Believe With Your Heart Not Your Eyes

Seeing is not always believeing. Sometimes you must have faith in something for it to be real. My favorite literary character, Finn Wittman, does not fully believe that the magic of Diseny really exists, until he becomes a part of the magic himself. Finn is a character in the book series "Kingdom Keepers". Along with his four co-DHIs (Disney Host Interactive), he has to learn to be a leader and to fight against the villans of Disney. He has to brave some of the strongest and most evil villians that Disney has ever created. The characters from the stories have come to life and have an elaborte ruse. Finn and the DHIs must fight to save everything that is Disney before it is over taken by the villians. Finn is doubtful of himself, but what he has yet to realize is all the potential that he really has. Everyone looks to him as a leader and trusts him completely with the decisions he makes. Even though he never truly acpects the title as "leader", Finn still acts as one. I think we are similar in that way, even when we don't want to do something, we still do it for the greater good. He is destined to save the World wheather he knows it or not.

Kate Wetherall

         In the book The Mysterious Benedict Society, Kate Wetherall is a very intelligent and odd character. She does many things that, at first thought, would be extremely out of the ordinary. Although, on closer examination, are very well thought out and make complete sense. Her character is very brave and is not afraid of really anything. If put in a situation where she would need to jump out of a plane, she would leap out without hesitation or second thought. Kate also has a very unique way of being prepared. She carries a bucket around her waist at all times filled with very unusual things that seem to all serve a purpose at sometime in the story. Kate is also a very supportive character throughout the book. The reason why I connect so well with Kate, is that although she may seem to be extremely tough on the outside, she has a very kind heart and is a very emotional person on the inside. Kate is also a very gifted person and unlike many gifted children tend to be, she is a very social person. She is able to communicate very well with other people while still being able to be extremely gifted and talented.

Katniss is Her Name, Hunting is Her Game

                 I have many favorite literary characters including Percy Jackson, Aria Montgomery, Harry Potter, Piper McLean, Rebecca Brown, and many others. But one stands out over all. Katniss Everdeen, from The Hunger Games trilogy, is my favorite literary character. Katniss is admired by many people, including myself. I mainly admire her for her courage, her confidence, her bravery, and her ability to mask her fear. She proved to me that even at the risk of death, if you have the right strategy and think quickly, you can survive and accomplish almost anything. Her complicated mind was constantly making me think about what her next action would be. Katniss never gave up, due to her stubbornness. Her mind was constantly running ideas, memories, and strategies to help her succeed. Her bravery and courage overwhelmed me. The way she sacrificed her life to save the ones she loved was incredible. I’m not sure if I’d have the courage to do what she did. Katniss never let her fear show, even in the most disastrous of times. If I was ever in any of Katniss’s situations, I would try my hardest to be as strong and as brave as she was. Katniss and I are not alike at all; she’s very brave and courageous, and I can barely talk in front of a large crowd without getting sick to my stomach. Katniss’s way of hiding her emotion inspired me to not show weakness to anyone. Even though Katniss Everdeen is simply a fictional character, she is still a brilliant inspiration.

Living Half Alive

        Vladimir a half vampire teenage outcast from the series, The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, is the one character I connect the most with.  He is without his father and is still pushing on through life no matter what is in his way, whether it be bullies or vampire hunters.  It may not seem it but I do have more troubles than it seems and when I feel down I always think of how bad it could be an outcast form two different societies and hated by both.  It instantly makes my situation seem so much brighter.  There is one major difference between us though, he is half-vampire and I am clearly human. One thing that surprised me when reading the book was how closely I could connect with his inner feelings and emotions. He felt as if he had been pushed out from society just because of the way he dressed and acted, I still have problems with people harassing me over the way I choose to dress.  I can only say I choose to express myself the way I want, I am an individual and do not need to follow the crowd. Reading this series and seeing the way Vladimir acts inspired me to make my own path other than relying on everyone to decide what is acceptable and what is not.  Vladimir shows that he does not care if someone likes him or hates him, I am just about the same I could care less if someone does not like me at all. Unlike Vladimir I do not take insults against my parents lightly at all. One of my wishes that I most want to come true is to meet a real life Vladimir, not in the vampiric essence though, just someone who has gone through similar experiences and could help me through my own.

                        I know for a fact that Sherlock Holmes is an amazing literary character, and my absolute favorite!  He is a forensic genius, and he is very sly.  Sherlock is my favorite literary character because of his rather quick and creative mind.  In his series he has a quite peculiar way of doing things, but they always pull through perfectly.  Holmes has a Chuck Norris brain, minus the round house. He’s always ready, even though he’s almost never prepared.  I love Sherlock Holmes!  Not just because I’m awkward, but because he’s unpredictable with every random, and psycho decision he makes.  I’m constantly being drawn to his character due to his continuous, daring adventures of being a kooky detective.  He’s one of those characters no one can ever replace! I only wish I could be like him! He has such a rapid yet, advanced way of critical thinking. He is a fanatic of science, shortcuts, explosions, rare little artifacts, and being disguised as a different person.  Sherlock Holmes is a literary character that I desperately wish I was like, because of his eccentricity and his thrill for suspicion, and excitement.

THE GIRL WHO COULD FLY!

Maximum Ride is one of the most amazing characters I have ever read about. She is brave and strong and she never gives up on her goals. No matter how hard the situation is she always prevails. She is everything that I aspire to be in life. Maximum Ride and I are not the same in any way, she has wings and I don’t, she is brave. I, on the other hand, am not brave. In fact, I am the complete opposite I am scared of my own shadow! Maximum Ride has inspired me to never give up on life and to push through my problems. The Maximum Ride series entertained me in a way that other books could never imagine doing. It was literally like a movie in book form. I highly recommend reading!

The Boy in Love with The Girl on Fire

My favorite literary character is Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games trilogy. Peeta is a teenage boy from District 12 who is chosen in the reaping to compete in the Hunger Games. He is one out of twenty-four tributes, and they will have to fight to the death until one victor remains. Out of all twenty-four tributes there is one tribute he knows he will not be able to brutally murder. That one tribute is Katniss Everdeen. She is the other tribute from District 12. Katniss is the girl Peeta has been in love with since preschool. Throughout the first Hunger Games they go through, he sacrifices himself by joining the Careers, which is a group of highly trained tributes. By joining this group, he leads the careers in the opposite direction of Katniss to keep her safe. Peeta shows his love by protecting her. I personally believe that all true friendships shows the same care that he does. Peeta and I don’t have many similarities, but in his situation I would have done the same for the person I dearly love.

Faithful Caitlin

                Caitlin O'Conner is the one literary character that has impacted my life in more ways than I can envision. Caitlin is a high school student, and begins to attend a local church in attempt to make a change in her life for the better. She makes commitments to God such as simply praying daily. As I continued to read this series I realized that Caitlin and I are only similar in few ways. We both have faced struggles and made commitments to God, but for different reasons. I admire her ability to maintain her commitments she made. Though she came close to breaking one of her commitments (not dating) during her journey, she got herself back on the right path instantly. I look up to her because of it. Caitlin has awakened me of the challenges I could potentially come face to face with in the future (people changing). I am grateful for that. I felt like I could always understand Caitlin clearly. I will remember Caitlin as one of my favorite literary character, because of the way she faced her struggles and did not give in and take the easy way out. She has made a significant impact on how I act today.

Hermione Granger

Hermione Granger ,by far, is my favorite literary character because she's courageous, daring, and willing to help her friends, Ron and Harry, when they are in need of it. She is indeed very intelligent in her studies, she knows how to help Harry fix his glasses with a spell, and all around she is just a great person. Hermione is daring for adventure. When Ron and Harry go on adventures, she's right by their sides along for the danger that lies ahead. I am like Hermione in many ways. We both try to achieve a lot in school and we both support our close friends. Hermione is a tad bit reserved. She doesn't like to talk about personal life. I am also the same way. Hermione Granger is my favorite literary character because of her bravery, she's not afraid of danger, and is willing to be a friend when a friend in need.

The Brave, Strong, Loving and Caring Katiniss Everdeen.

                Katiniss Everdeen. Strong.   Brave. Loving and caring all are reasons why Katiniss is by far my favorite literary character. Katiniss was strong enough to win the hunger games, a death game. She was also physically strong because of how she shoots her bow and arrow. Brave, Katiniss is co brave. She was brave enough to go into the games for her sister and her family. Katiniss also is brave by going out and hunting for game in an illegal area in her district. Loving and caring is a huge reason why she is my favorite character. She loves and cares for her sister, Prim, so much that she volunteered for her sisters spot in the games. Also, she was like Prims mom more than a sister because of her mom’s sadness.  Katiniss Everdeen is an amazing person, friend, sister, and daughter. She has shown many things through her message by saying don’t be scared and always love your family. By Katiniss being strong, brave, loving and caring is why she is my favorite literary character.

Can You Taste The Lemonade?

I’ve read many books and loved many of the characters in the stories, but the character I admire most is Charlie from Lemonade Mouth. Charlie is a drummer in the book, which is a lot like me since I play the drums. I am in the ninth grade at the time, and Charlie is in ninth grade too. He is also quite smart just like me. Charlie always cracks a joke, and I do that often. I admire him because he is calm in a bad situation.  In the book he is playing at a concert but messes up a lot, but still stays calm. I would’ve done the same thing. He is a role model because in the story, he is just an amateur drummer and sets his mind to playing the drums and gets a lot better. This is inspirational to me because I am an amateur drummer and if I practice a lot then I will be good. He entertains me because whatever someone has to say, he has something to make fun of it with. That is why Charlie is a role model to me, and I look up to him.
