Connection is Inevitable

Prompt: "There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." What does this mean to me?

     Connection is inevitable. This means you need to be aware of every single thing you do, every move you make, because even a small thing could affect someone's life forever. We can't avoid the fact that everything we do will affect at least one person.
     I could give you many examples of how this applies to my life and others, because this quote describes life in general. For example, in the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven, where this quote is from, the main character was technically responsible for a death. Eddie, the main character, didn't realize this until he died, many years later. I think this proves very well that everything you do affects other people.
     One word directed at someone could shatter their self esteem. One picture posted could make them cry. This can happen because it is true; you can't separate one life from another. Try as you will, but it is literally impossible. I am connected to you, you are connected to me, and we are both connected to everyone we know and don't know.
     This prompt uses advanced wording but basically it means one thing, and one thing only: do anything in the world, anything at all, and it will affect so many more people than you assume. There is only one way to not hurt as many people. That is to think before you do.

Moments That Count

        "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." To me, this quote means that everything happens for a reason. Meetings, accidents, tragedies and even random acts can change your life forever. These things happen to teach us important lessons, make us stronger, and teach us to appreciate small things so we don't take anything for granted. I think good can come out of even the worst tragedies.
          In the end, awful events happen for the greater good. Without these things life would be safe and comfortable but pointless and dull. In fact, these are probably the most important ones because you learn the most from them.
        We all experience death whether it be someone who you didn't know or someone you loved very much. In The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Eddie encounters it from a stranger that dies in a car crash to save him. He also experiences it from his wife who died of cancer. Both of these tragedies change the course of his life forever.
          The people you meet in your life can affect you by helping to create who you are and who you'll become. For example, your mother teaches you morals and responsibilities so that you can become someone respectable and achieve great things. Although you may not even realize it, every moment counts and every act matters.
         

The Butterfly Effect

"There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That we can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This means that even the smallest act you do could affect a person in the greatest of ways. The butterfly effect to say the least. Take my life for example.

It was the day of Denham's homecoming game my seventh grade year. I was staying with my grandmother, while my mom, sister, and grandfather went to the game. That day my grandmother wasn't feeling well, so she went and took a nap. When it was time to leave they went in the back to say good bye to her. Once they left I took my laptop, and went into my mom's old room. I was lying on the bed listening to music, when I heard my grandmother call for my grandfather. I thought it was strange at first because she knew he wasn't home, but then I thought it was just a force of habit. So I went to her room to see what she needed. That's when my life turned upside down. When I walked in her room she was surprised that I was there. I told her why I was there, and everything that had happened, but she just couldn't remember. I was so freaked out. I wanted to just go run and hide, but as much as I wanted to, I held it in and tried to remain calm. Then I got the phone and called momma. The whole time I was doing this my grandmother kept saying that she was sorry. Once my mom and grandfather got there, my sister and I went in my mom's old room curled up on the bed together, and cried. This was so scarey. I didn't know what was going on. Mom had called 911, and an ambulance was on it's way. My sister and I went outside. She drove the truck into the yard facing the road, and I stood by it's door. As we waited for the sirens to get close, so we could flag them down, I was shaking, and so was my sister. Once the ambulance got there they took her to the hospital. This was the first of many trips to the hospital that summer. My grandmother had suffer a stroke of sorts.

Now it might be hard for y'all to see how this adds up, so look at it this way. My “small act” was just simply being at the house that night, and being able to call my mom, and get my grandmother to the hospital fast. Who knows what would have happened is I had not been there. We may not have had those next few months with her. I might not have had a chance to say goodbye. For my grandmother passed away that summer from other stuff. My grandmother life and mine are/were connected she taught me a lot of what I know now. She's the one who inspired me to become an author.

So no matter what you do you can affect someone else's life. Something as small as saying “hey” to that kid in the hall might make their day. Or talking to a person who looks sad you just might give them the hope that the entire world isn't out to get them. Just be nice to people could have a major impact of that person. You could be the Captain shooting Eddie in the leg, keep them from going over the edge because it isn't their time.

Degrees of Separation

       
   The quote "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind" means a lot to me.  In the book, The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom, Eddie and his brother are throwing a ball. The ball rolls into the street and Eddie went after it and stepped out in front of a car. The Blue Man dodges Eddie with his car to save Eddie's life, but in the process the Blue Man crashes and dies. They meet in heaven and he tells Eddie what happened and explained that it was meant to happen.  Blue Man had to die in order for Eddie to live.  Both of them didn't know each other but their lives were connected. This illustrates how this quote could be true. Anyone can have a big or small impact on another person's life without realizing it.
   We are all connected to each other in some way or another. Whether it be by someone we know or the day to day communications we have had with many people.  We all have an impact on each other's lives whether we know it or not. Life as we know it is very short and precious, and if we interact with someone at the wrong time or in the wrong way, their life could be impacted in a good or bad way or could also possibly be taken from them.   
   In junior high, I feel I may have impacted many students. Some were grades below me and some that were in the same grade. I feel they may have been impacted both by my actions and the things I may have said, be it good or bad. I may have not known all of them, but I would like to think that many of them looked to me as a role model and a leader on campus based on these interactions. The quote, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected", means to me that we may not know everyone that we come in contact with, but that we all have an impact on other's lives without realizing it.

Random Seperation?

          "There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This quote explains that nothing ever happens on accident. Everything happens for a purpose because there are no random acts in a person's life here on Earth. We are all connected to one another because everything happens for a reason. Humans are similar to each other because everyone's life serves a purpose, just like each person was put here on purpose, not on accident. You cannot separate one's life from another since there are no accidents, simply just incidents that happen for a reason. I don't think that there is a reasonable answer to explain why this happens. For example, why do some people live longer than others? Why do some people get cancer, and others don't? Whatever happens to make these events to occur? I do not think that anyone will ever be able to give an explanation that tells why things like that happen. This will most likely remain life's mystery forever.

The Web of Human Lives

     Seemingly random acts fill our world. "That there are no random acts . That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind," a quote spoken by the Blue Man, has many meanings. The meaning I see hidden in this is that we see acts of many different kinds taking place all around us, but we must understand that those particular actions are part of something grander than we can imagine. One person lives, and one person dies for reasons we cannot begin to understand. One person must live because he or she has not learned or encountered everything that they need to. The other dies because they have encountered everything needed for them to learn the things they need to in heaven.
     Sometimes we never see or meet the people that are intricately weaved into our life. Sometimes they happen to be the very cause of our important life events. Everything is planned for us, well before it ever happens. A breeze is part of the wind, just like a human's life is part of all the human lives in the world. Every person's decision greatly affects another's. Every act that a person does would not have happened if someone had made a different decision just a few minutes earlier.
     If someone went back in time and said the wrong thing at the wrong time, when they came back to the present there might be a completely different set of people in the world, or even the time traveler might not have even been born. This goes to show that every decision, every action, every feeling, and every commitment affects how every life will be lived. What is seen as a random action is vital to the grand scheme of humankind.

Try to Seperate Us, I Dare You.

      "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." Generally, quotes can be interpreted in many different ways depending on how it makes you feel. This quote from the novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven makes me feel as though everyone may look and act different, we are not at all different.
      We are all connected. Through actions, moods, and vibes. If you are nice to one person and make their day better that person will go and make someone else's day better. If you are rude to a person and you put a negative vibe on their day that person will do the same to someone else. We are connected.
      Say you buy something from a store; when you buy that object you are paying the store, the company of the object, and everyone who helps to make the object. With that one purchase you could have just fed a family. We are connected in that way also.
      Arlington Cemetery contains the graves of soldiers. Because of the soldiers in Arlington our country is how it is today. We are free. Each of those soldiers affect every life in the United States. Every baby born in the United States is born free because of those soldiers. The soldiers will continue to affect lives for twenty years, thirty years, forty years, etc. even though they are passed on.
      In conclusion, we are all connected because the actions in your life will affect someone else's life. Whether you affect their mood, their life or death, their freedom, you are still affecting them. We are all connected.

Connected by Fate

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This life has a path carved for each of us. Along the way we meet people, some good and some bad, but all the same those people are there for a reason. Whether their purpose is to help you up or push you down, they are there to make you stronger. The smallest act could make the biggest difference in someone's life without even knowing what they've done. We go through life blind, taking wrongs turns and walking in circles, but we are connected by the same sense of unknowing our fate.Our acts are not random, they all have a purpose no matter how small. The wind is inseparable, much like fate.When two souls are intertwined they remain intertwined until they meet and the strings of life are unraveled. Think of life, for a moment, as a knot of different strings tied together. One by one the strings become untied as life goes on; until one day all the strings are straight. To me, this quote gives me hope that all the pain we go through in life is worth it, and that one day everything will finally make sense.

Everything Happens for a Reason?

What does the quote "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." mean to me?  This quote means nothing to me. I don't believe that there is a grand plan. I believe that accidents just happen.  I don't believe in fate. I don't believe that we are all connected. I think we all have our separate lives.  I do believe the choices we make have an effect on us. If you want to change your life do something about it, don't wait for fate to intervene.  I understand why people want to think that everything happens for a reason and that we are all connected, I just don't see it that way. I understand what this quote is suggesting, I just don't share the author's opinion. After all this quote is in a fictional book.

Eternally connected

        "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you separate a breeze from the wind." There are many meanings to this phrase. Each person has their own unique opinion. The meaning is up to the beholder. To me it means eternal connection and no coincidences.

        Everything happens for a reason, we just can't see the reasons sometimes. Everything is part of a plan much bigger than any of us. We are all part of it and we always will be a part of it. There is no changing this plan because everything that happens is part of it. Just because some people's paths do not cross does not mean that they never did something that affected the others lives. Each choice we make affects others even if we don't realise it.

The Reason Behind...

Each day is a new beginning for humans here on Earth. However, if we analyze our past days, our experiences, our discoveries, or even our learning, I believe that each human being has a purpose to be in this world, which is to connect with each other.  We may have different paths, lifestyles and opinions, but we are all connected at one point.

 We meet certain people for a reason. We may not be able to rationalize the basis of our encounter at the right instant, but as we journey through life, we will discover and comprehend the reason. As humans, we may even have encountered events where we have affected someone or someone’s way of life. In the story, "The Five People You Meet in Heaven", Eddie had no idea that he had affected the Blue Man’s life. He never thought that they had already been on the same ground more than 70 years ago; and he unknowingly contributed to the cause of the Blue Man's death.  

 The characteristics of humans help us shape who we want to be.  As we step out of our front door, we see unique personalities, different views, and diverse cultures. These humans and events have allowed us to see the character we want to be or we want to possess. They also give us knowledge of what we want to pursue in our life. The successful stories we witness give us an idea of what we desire to do later on. It somehow inspires us to become better for the bright future ahead of us. It only depends on how we make use of our choices. According to Aristotle, there is always a reason for everything that happens. Your experiences are designed to shape you, define you, and hopefully, mold you into the mightiest you possible.

Strangers, who became our friends, came to our life for a purpose. Our relationships with them shaped who we are and how we live our lives. We met each one for a reason. It may be because we needed to make better choices, needed a hand for comfort, or feel the love we deserve.  Each one is special. In our lives, we need to learn how to manage every action like it’s the last we could perform. It may be as simple as throwing a pebble, but little do we know, it may have a massive effect on someone else’s.

Connected

     Although everyone and everything is different and unique from one another, we are all on one earth, looking at the same sun.  The quote, "That there are no random acts.  That we are all connected.  That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind," states just that.  To me, this means everything happens for a reason.  Every situation, every decision, and every life was brought to this earth for a reason. 
     In the quote, it mentions that there is no difference between a breeze and the wind.  Sometimes the wind is stronger than a light breeze.  Sometimes the breeze is cooler than the wind.  Either way, both words can be replaced for each other.  Another example can be shown between a coach and a player.  Each player plays differently, each team wins differently, and each coach coaches differently.  In the end, after everyone comes together, they realize they are all working for the same reason.  To succeed.  Each player and coach together wants to succeed, and that is why they are called a team. 
     No matter what, there will always be a cause and effect in life.  When you put your pencil across a piece of paper, you could be writing a sentence, a paragraph, a page, or even a book.  But this quote is trying to explain to us that either way, every word is connected to one another. 

Toche Theory of Consequentiality

       For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. This is the first law of physics. Humans, being imperfect and often illogical, throw out the opposite and equal part, but the rest stays true. Now every choice comes with a consequence, although the consequences can vary greatly. They can be large or small, and they can affect people we know or people we have never met.                                  

       In The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Eddie affects two people he never knew in drastic ways. The first person he affects is a man who works as a side show for the Ruby Pier Park, known as the Blue Man. Eddie and his older brother are throwing a baseball when Eddie throws too high and runs in the middle of the road to get it. The Blue Man is driving a car and misses Eddie, killing himself to save Eddie. The second person is a young girl from the Phillipines. Eddie is burning down a village controlled by the Japanese when he burns this young girl's hut down with her in it. This just goes to prove that a simple or large action can hurt others you do not know.

       Eddie also hurts a person that he does know, that being his wife. Eddie is at a horse race and began betting to get extra money against his wife's wishes. His wife is worried he will waste money, but as she is driving a young teen tosses a bottle into the road unaware that Marguaruitte is driving there. The bottle hits her windshield and causes her to wreck. This causes Eddie and his wife to lose the baby they were trying to adopt and a lot of their money from hospital bills.

       The theory of consequentiality states that you can never predict the full extent of the consequences of your actions. The best you can do is to be careful with your words and deeds.

The Power of Human Connections

     As humans, we are all connected.  This indicates that  without the special bonds we share with the people associated with us, we would be totally different than we actually are.  The people in our lives all influence us in different ways.  These combinations of influences make us who we are today; they make us unique.  They provide a framework for our personality traits, customs, beliefs, and interests.  These connections with others completely sculpt us as individuals and forever change our lives.
     Likewise, since it is in our human nature to be connected, we change the lives of countless others, similar to how they change ours.  Every time that we observe each other's behaviors, or when we simply have conversations with others, it leaves permanent impressions on us and our lives, whether we realize it at the time or not.  These impressions and insights stay with us throughout our lives, and we often share them with totally different people without noticing it. For example, if you have a strong point of view on a certain topic and you share your viewpoints with another person, they can lead you to fully alter your opinions on that topic.  They can make you see things from a different point of view, which you will most likely do to others as well.  These new opinions that have formed can provide morals or guidelines for the way that you live your life; they can make you see the world in a different light; they can help you achieve your goals.
     The most important thing about being linked with other people is the relationships that we develop with them.  Good or bad, these relationships are the ultimate reasons that our lives are the way they are.  We cross paths with people to be taught life lessons, to gain knowledge, and to help others. If you think about it, if certain people in history would not have crossed paths or somehow been connected, many people from our generation may not be in existence today.  If things would have gone differently, we very well could currently be living in a different country, have different friends and family members, and we could be living the lives of other people.  The idea may be complicated to understand, but it is very true.  This provides further evidence to prove that all human souls and lives are connected, and that absolutely everything happens for a reason; there are no such things as coincidences.
