The Definition of Love

Ephesians 5:31-33 “As the Scriptures say, ‘A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”

    Loving someone means to care for another as, or more than, you would care for yourself. One has to be prepared to make sacrifices. However, loving someone is not a one way action. Returning someone’s love means being capable of giving to them, what they are presenting to you. At this stage in my life, I feel love means being willing to throw away my whole world for this one person. Everything is revolved around love, or the lack there of. No one has a substantial urge to be without someone to care about, or someone to care for them. And how one treats others is a direct reflection of the love that grows within them. Love is shown through acts of kindness, patience, honesty, and selflessness. It can be a big hoopla full of emotion, or as simple as a kiss on the forehead. Love is a beautiful thing, but it is not something to be taken lightly. When considering loving someone, giving things up for them, striving to please them, think if they would do the same for you, and put you on a pedestal. Ask yourself, are they worth it?

                                                                                                                        

Love is Forever

     The love between a mother and a daughter is forever, and only they would know that. A mother is a daughter first best friend. Someone who is always there and believes in what she thinks. Never will I question why because deep down I know she will never tell me wrong. Our memories will never be broken, from our shopping days to our arguing days. In reality, everyone knows that in some point of their they will disagree, but never hate. I love my mom and I'm not embarrassed to tell her in front of my friends, and only true ones would agree. I believe that love I something special. Something that can change nightmares into dreams. I will always believe in my mom and I know she will always believe in me. Love is a strong word, but in this situation can never be used wrongly. Me and my mom will always have a special relationship that no on else can have.  

Love or Nah...

            I do not believe love is what people make it out to be. Love is humans primordial instincts to reproduce. I do however, believe that you, me, and everybody else loves at some point. It is not our own faults that we fall in love. Love may surprise you, demoralize you, and sometimes jeopardize your own sanity. On the flip side, it can be the best thing that ever happened to you.
            The science behind love is actually quite intriguing. Love is the sure result of the chemicals testosterone, oestrogen, adrenaline, dopamine, serotonin, oxycotin, and vasopressin in the brain. These neurotransmitters do miraculous things when you become attracted to someone.
              Many of my peers and elders would like to say that love is incomparable and inexplicable. Although the brain cannot be fully understood, I think it is arbitrary to believe that you are destined to fall in love with a single person. I don't mean to be pedantic. I am just stating pure opinion. All love is is your mind trying to find a mate to better the human race.

 What is love? Does anybody really know what love is? Love is what most of our movies, songs, and books are based off of, but no one can tell you what it really means. There are lots of different kinds of love. There is the love between a mother and a newborn baby, a husband and a wife, and there's even the love you have for your favorite snack. Love is the most powerful thing in the world, but we all throw it around like it's nothing. Love can be the most beautiful thing in the world, but it can also be the most destructive. But despite the pain and sorrow that love can bring, everyone still strives to achieve it because love is the closest thing we have to magic. Love changes things. The simple four letter word can move mountains and melt a heart of stone.
  When I think of love, I think of Jesus Christ. In the bible it says "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." Jesus Christ died on the cross for us so we wouldn't have to pay the price for our sins. Why? Because of love. Love is a feeling like no other. Love is giving your everything to something or someone else and not expecting anything in return. Love is cherishing another's happiness more than your own.
  Hearing the word love, many things flash through my mind whether it's a Nicholas Sparks book or the love i have for my brother, but if you were to randomly come up to me and ask me what love is, I would try to answer but the truth this, I have no clue. Sure I have my own interpretations of what the word means but so does everybody else. There's no one definition for love and that's why it frustrates me when parents say, "You don't know what love is, you're too young." So am I supposed to believe that love only comes with age? If I were to ask them what love is, they probably couldn't tell you what it is either because unlike any other feeling, love is unexplainable.

A Pet's Love

    The love for a pet is like no other.  Anatole France once said, "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." I think this means that the love for a pet can not be felt until one has had a pet, like a parent holding their new-born child.  My guinea pigs are named Markus and Kyle and I love them more than one would think.  When I received them less than one year ago, I never thought that I would care for them as much as I do now. Essentially, they are my children, my little babies.  I care for them like I would like to do for my own child.  I feed, water, clean, and play with them, just as I would for a child.  I teach them, not what I would teach another human being, but fundamentally the same.  They return my love also; they will lick my fingers or nibble on my shirt.  They love snuggling with me and they have the cutest back-stretches and yawns.  I don't know how I would live, how I did live, when I didn't have them in my life; they are my family.  I don't know exactly how other people feel about their pets, but I would hope that they wouldn't consider them pets, I would hope they would consider them family.

What is Life Without Love?

Love comes naturally to everyone. From the second you were born your mother, father, and the rest of your family automatically loved you. You grow up loving your toys, friends, pets, and everything that is in your life because as a child you are always happy. As you grow up you start to be attracted to other people and you develop crushes on the cutest guys or girls in school. Being a teenager, you don’t really care for what’s on the inside of a person it’s all about the looks. When you set your eyes on the right person, you go on a couple dates and think you fall in love but are it really loves? It is so easy to say the words “I love you’, but to actually mean it is another. They say young people don’t know what true love is and I agree with that. At a young age, you are testing out what you want and what you do not want in a person so it is all a learning experience. Once you settle down and find the person you feel like you can spend forever with, that’s when you find true love and can start a family of your own. When you find the one you will know but you just have to be patient and wait for the right person because that is what will last.  Everyone needs love and has love in their life because without love, there would be no life.

It Completes Us

Where do I belong? I belong in love.

I belong in love because love is where all my feelings are. I’m able to be myself around those that I love and those that love me. I can say my thoughts, feel my emotions, and act myself. Love is where I’m comfortable.

Where do you belong? You belong in love.

You belong in love because love is a special and rare place to find yourself. It’s where we relate to one another.

Where is love? Love is everywhere.

Love is in the teenage social media posts, it’s in the late night talks, the smiles of strangers, and laughter. Love is where you can wake up with a light heart and see past the negative in one another. Love is finding “the one true love” or your “soul mate”. I believe everyone has a soul mate and part of our journey on Earth should be spent searching and falling for it.

When should we love?

We should love all the time. Every chance we get to show someone we love them, we should take it. No matter the circumstances, there is always time for love.

Without love we would never be complete. We would never know what it’s like to be accepted for who you are. We would never know what it’s like to get those feelings that someone adores you. We would never know where home is. Without love we would never be complete.

Love Is A Divide

      Love is a divide, where many people form their own opinions. Whether it be godly love, earthly love, lustful love or etc. Love to me though is my opinion and my opinion is that there is no true love but false love. Many couples will say that they have found the love of their life and that those are the one that they will spend all there time with til the day they die. I beg to differ with those people on account eight out of ten couples divorce or end their relationships with one another. Others believe in a false love where they believe nothing can stop their relationship and yet they get into a fight or an argument about some small thing and they just part ways from one another. Where does love truly come from? How can such a powerful simple word be so complex yet so simple? We all form our own type of love that we believe in. There isn't a better definition than that love is a figment or state of mind feeling emotion. Many may beg to argue me but love is as stated a question that none can answer. I believe I have proven this within this small but powerful paragraph above, fight or argue I stand by my word and if you wish to consult me on the issues do so.   

Love is Infininte

Love is infinite. There are so many ways to express love for others.  Love itself is infinite along with a million ways to say it. There are countless definitions for the word love. I believe love is caring for others and wanting what’s best for them, but there are so many more explanations of love.

Sometimes it isn’t always as plain and simple as “I love you.”  Words such as “put on your seat belt” are one of many ways to say “I love you.”  Saying that is like saying “I love you and I don’t want you to get hurt”. Sometimes you might be telling someone you love them without even knowing it because there are so many ways to communicate love.

Love isn’t always intimate. There are many levels of love like a friendship, boyfriend or girlfriend, or the love for kids.  You can convey your feelings on all these levels with the infinite number of ways to say “I love you”.

 

 

Feeling Loved

       

The word love can have different meanings to different people. In my opinion, true love isn’t something you can define. Trying to explain love is like trying to explain why the color red is named red; love really has no explanation.  The feeling one gets when they have found “their other half” is a feeling like no other. Being in love, is like being excited and happy all at the same time. No matter what happens, or how the day is going, you know there will be that one person that makes everything better. Having the one you love by your side makes you feel like you can face anything that life throws at you, good or bad. The word love gets tossed around by an abundance people who think they are in love but are really in lust. One cannot only love with their eyes, they have to really see someone for everything they are, inside and out, before one can say that they truthfully love them. You cannot make yourself fall in love with someone, you can also not control who you fall in love with. Love comes at random and most of the time is much unexpected. People say that if you are trying to look for love, you will never find it; you have to let love come to you and not go seeking it. Lust may come to someone more than once in a lifetime, but when they find the one person that changes their lust into love, they will understand why it never worked out with anyone else before.

                The literal definition of love is an intense feeling of deep affection, but I think that love is much more than that. I believe you can show love in the simplest of ways, such as the breakfast in bed or even just a cup of coffee in the morning. The kiss good bye when you leave for work or school and the kiss when you get home. Love is the constant affection. The hugs you receive when you're feeling down, the happiness you feel when you see that person. Or even just a sweet text message to brighten your day. Love is a lot of things but many people think love is a scary thing but the truth about love is that no one knows what it is because everyone has a different definition.
             Love can also be big things. Even life changing things. Love is the simplest thing but it isn't easy.  It's everything you want and definitely worth fighting for. Love is this huge emotion that no one has ever been able to put into words. When you love someone so much that you marry them your whole life changes. Or when you decide to have children the love that you have for them is never ending, similar to the love that Christ had for us when he sacrificed himself on the cross to give us eternal life. No love could ever compare to the love he has for us.

Love is an Emotion

Love is the emotion that you, I, and everybody feels when they are nonstop thinking and talking about one person in particular, in my opinion. People always talk about how much they think about that person, how much they love that person, and how they want to marry them. You can tell that somebody in in love by the expressions on their faces. People who are in love will always make play on words about how their love for someone is perfect. I am guilty of doing this exact thing when I think that I am in love.Love to me affects my entire mood, my day (depending on how my day went), and pretty much everything about me, that you don't already know about me. When I think that I am in love somebody, I start to ramble about them to a point where I wont stop talking. I would draw pictures of my boyfriend's name during some classes. I will tell you everything about my boyfriend just because. You can tell when I think that I am in love with somebody. I will have a huge smile on my face everyday and I will be happy in general. To me love means that I am a kind enough, smart enough, and caring person to woo someone's heart into making me feel loved. Love means that I can make somebody happy enough without having to change anything about me. I will listen to classical love songs when I am in love.
Love can be shown in multiple different ways. Love can be show through songs, gifts, and physical contact. The most common used way to show love is through physical contact. People will hold each other's hand, kiss each other, hug each other, and other public displays of affection. 

That One Love

What is love? There are so many ways to describe it. I don't think one fully understands until you experience it on your own, because everyone interprets it in their own way. Love is one of the most powerful things. It changes your perspective towards everything. When you have such strong feelings towards a person, not just strong feelings, but constant feelings; there is never a dull moment when you’re together. You can just imagine the rest of your life with them. There is trust, honesty, and respect for one another. When you’re upset they are right by your side to pick you up and put a smile right back on your face. They encourage you to pursue your dreams and lead you to believe that you really can do anything.

Some fall in what they think is love too easily, only to end up with a broken heart. You want your first love to be you’re only love. Sometimes they turn out to be the person you never thought they were. In the end, it is not so much the person you miss, but the memories and experiences you had with them you don’t want to lose. In some cases it is a dangerous or hurtful thing. I have witnessed this firsthand from people I never would have imagined. It’s a delicate thing and we aren’t always the best caretakers of it.

Is love real or just an illusion?

Love is a beautiful thing. I don’t personally think you must be “in love” or must be drowned in love to have experienced love. Truly you don’t have to be in a relationship nor even have friends in order to love. Although, I do think everyone loves, has been loved, and shows love through their way of life each and every day.

Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is not rushed nor passed up. One will fall in love when the time is right. Lots of people, too many to count, are heartbroken everyday by what they think love is. There is not a certain time, age, date you will fall in love, truly fall in love. Sometimes, people rush love. Teenagers, like myself, seek love. We crave a boyfriend or girlfriend; we pray to be loved by someone because we fight with our parents, hate school and love our friends. We constantly wish someone would come along that would just finally satisfy us. Love comes naturally.

The Power of Love

Love has many powers including; immortality and super strength.  Love is the like the superhero of the universe; it can make people do just about anything.  People will change drastically, if they are driven by love. 

Love never dies; therefore it is immortal.  A person doesn’t need to be right in front of you for you to love them.  If separation causes love to fade, then it was never true.  I loved my great-grandfather very dearly.  When he died, I was heartbroken and wouldn’t believe he was really gone.  With all the memories he left behind, I still love him and maybe even more than before.  That comes to show even death cannot kill love.  Death is like a villain, but love conquers all and comes out on top.  Love is never forgotten, so it can never be lost.  Distance would never be a problem, as long as the love is true.

Love ties people together with the strongest bond.  Its strength can beat the power of death and distance. Love bends and twists two people’s emotions and ties them together.  Love only gets stronger as two people fall into it.  Death may take a person from another physically, but never mentally.  Love holds on so tightly; no matter how hard you try to rid yourself of it, love never leaves.

Love has the power to drive people and completely consume them.  People will do anything, because the strength of love drives them to it. People may change, because one may feel they need to please another.  That is really strong, because it changed who you were all your life. One minute you may be an obedient child all your life, and now you’re sneaking around to see someone who you should hate; just as Juliet was in Shakespeare’s famous play, Romeo and Juliet.

The power of love is stronger than it seems. It’s not just some word to be thrown around like it is today’s society.  The strength isn’t as simple as the word itself.  Love can be dangerous because of its strength, but when it is true, it can conquer all.
