The first time I saw this quote, I fell in love with it. It really applies to me and how I act. If you can have a positive attitude, you might not get anywhere because of it, but you will be rewarded with your own acts. If you truly have a good attitude that makes other people happy, then it was worth the while. Even if your attitude annoys people, you will still have given them a better one than if it would have been spent with a negative person.I believe that everyone should have a good attitude like this one because you have a 50/50 shot. On one hand you can make someone really happy. On the other hand you could really annoy someone. I know that I can be both, but at least there is that 50% chance that I could make someones day a little brighter. If everyone in the world had a positive attitude, then at least half of the world would be smiling. That would be an awesome world. That is why I love this quote.

Striking Out
“Never let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game.” –by Molly Laughlin
This quote is important and positive in life. It means, never give up no matter how many times you “strike out.” Whether it is in school or activities, you should never give up on it and always do your best. Also, never let the fear of giving up, hold you back in life. The quote is helpful if you are going through a bad time and you feel like giving up. It says not to, that you should keep on moving forward. To me, it is a positive influence. Whenever I feel like giving up on something I remember it so, I do not give in and I keep trying. An example for me is school or grades. When I work at something and fail, I do not just settle with that “strike out.” I keep working at it even harder until I succeed. Never let fear get in your way of anything.

This quote has really been an inspiration to me because it is saying that no matter what the outcome, whether it be victory or defeat, if you give your all you have accomplished something. In his quote, Theodore Roosevelt is saying that the people in life who just sit on the side and just critisize the people who are trying will never amount to anything in life. For example, if a pitcher is brought into a baseball game with bases loaded and he gives up the winning run, he will most likely be critsized. The pitcher will more than likely be upset, but atleast he was willing to step up and try. The players who critisize him have no right to do so because they were not willing to step up and try. I agree completely with this quote because I get aggravated with people who do not attempt to do something, yet they critisize those who are willing to go out and work for what they want. Sure, it may be easier to critisize, but the people who try will always accomplish more in life. A good example of a person who tries his best is Lance Armstrong, an olympic cyclist. Lance was diagnosed with cancer and it was a high probability of death and his cycling career seemed to be over. However, Lance survived cancer and returned to cycling. He was considered washed up, he was critisized, looked down on, and overlooked, but he overcame the critisism and won the tour de France. It is clear that there will always be doers and watchers in the world. Butno matter if they succeed or fail, the doers will always be farther in life than the watchers.

Failure is not meant to put you down it is meant to help you overcome obstacles that get in your way. I have learned that when I fail at something it is just a way to make me stronger. I have learned to forget about the consequences of failure. Failure is only a temporary change in direction to set me straight for my next success. And when facing failure it's not whether I get knocked down; it's whether I get back up and try again.Fear of failure must never be a reason not to try something. Failure is success if you learn from it. And I have learned that failure is the first step to success. And by learning from failure it gave me the motivation to not be afraid of it.

The definition of a quote or saying is something said, especially a proverb or apothegm. I think this is something more than that. It is truthful and inspiring to me. Anytime I am in a stressful situation, I think of this quote. It reminds me not to give up easily and that time really does heal things. John Adams probably had his share of difficulties and obstacles, and I believe he knows exactly what he is talking about. Anytime you are experiencing trials of any kind, all you need to do is keep your head up, press on, and it will surely pass. Problems may pile up and seem very complicated, but if you are patient, your moutains will turn into molehills. Think of a runner, halfway through a marathon they may be lacking breath, but if they do not stop they are eased by a second wind. A second wind is like renewed energy after pushing yourself passed the point of exhaustion. If you are exhausted by issues in your life, persevere and your troubles will eventually be lifted off your shoulders. No matter what you are going through, it will not last forever.

A friend of mine said this to me a while back during a talk we were having. Although I don't remember the conversation, this particular sentence has always come back to me, and this assignment was what I think got me to realize what he was trying to put into words. This quote is simple and very to the point, not much is needed to explain it. So to put a simple quote to simple words, this means that Hell has no fury for love, obviously, because it isn't wrong. The important concept here is that Hell has always been known to home all things evil and disgraceful. Who would think of love as something of evil? That in mind, something as pure as love doesn't even seem to belong in the same sentence as a place as horrid as Hell. All of this is important to me because everyday a person is critisized when honestly, it isn't wrong to love. This quote could be taken in many ways by many different people, it could stand for literal love or just a belief, but either way no one can rightly judge you by it.

If you look at bad times in a different perspective, they may not seem as harsh because you will be laughing and having a good time while trudging through it. If you take life too seriously, you will miss out on a great deal of good times in life. You can also use your imagination to take you away from the problems in your life. You can create anything in the universe with imagination, especially happiness. Everyone goes through hard times. But some people don’t know how to make the best out of every situation. She always tells me to "stay strong, no matter what", when times get hard and I'm completely lost at what to do with the situation at hand. This quote is very signifigant to me. It has taught me to keep my head up against all odds. This quote has also taught me to grow up and know that everything happens for a reason. God has a reason, a plan, for everything that happens in our life's and I believe that is true. I am surrounded by the love and care of my family and friends. You can go along and have these amazing dreams of what you want to do, but only you can actually put them into motion. Dreams are truly our future, and our future is what we make of it. If Walt Disney had not let his dream come true, we would not have a Disney Land. That shows that you can live up to your dreams no matter how big or small. If there is something in your life that you dream about doing, do not be afraid of letting that dream show. Down the road you might have negative people in your life that say you can not live your dream, but do not let that discourage you that you are not able. In the end it is all up to you, and how you want things to go in your life. Once you go and pursue your dream, you will feel truly on top of the world. I know if I were Walt Disney it would have had to take a lot of courage to tell people that I wanted to build a whole theme park, when back then it seemed impossible. It means that to be irreplaceable, you have to be different from everyone else. And be your own person and don't be a follower, be a leader. When you are different from other people, people start to notice and start liking you better because you are not following the crowd or trying to be like everyone else. And if you are scared no one will like you if you try to be your own self, well take the risk and be unique. Then when other people see you being different, they will start to be different themselves. They have probably wanted to be different all along but just did not have enough confidence to do it. "I am just a man with a heart and sinful hands, I am a fallen victim."- Redemption (August Burns Red). This quote can be understood in a few different ways, but it was said in a christian way. The author of this quote is a christian heavy metal band. I believe that when the singer says "I am just a man," he means that he, like everyone else, is not perfect. We all make mistakes in our life. "With a heart and sinful hands," means that everyone is capable of loving and caring throughout their life, but at the same time, sin. We sin daily. He is saying that no matter who you are, even if you are the Pope of the world, you still commit sins, whether you know it or not. Jesus died on the cross to forgive all our sins, and that is what the rest of the song's lyrics are about. "I am a fallen victim" could mean two things. One way would be to say, like others, he has fallen for the many deeds of evil we see and act upon daily in today's world. Another way would be to assume that the singer has had an indecent past, and wishes to change for the better, and for a more christian lifestyle. This quote got to me because I believe that everyone has the right to change in their life. I thought it was very true when I listened to it during the song, and I have remembered it since then.
