The Hobbit

There are many reasons Bilbo is pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." Bilbo is pleased because there are many wonderful things he can do that others can't do. For example, Bilbo can sneak around better than other peole. He can be stealthy, quick, and fit in places others can't. Being "a little fellow" helps Bilbo on many of his quests and to overcome trials. That is why Bilbo says he is pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all."
I don't think I'd be happy to be "a little fellow" because there are certain things that you aren't able to do when you're small. I wouldn't be as strong if I was little. I wouldn't be able to carry better armor and use larger weapons if I was smaller. I am glad to be larger because I can survive better when I take a hit. There are many great things about being large. That is why I wouldn't be happy to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all."

At the end of The Hobbit, Gandalf tells Bilbo that he is, "Only a quite little fellow in a wide world after all." Bilbo says that he is pleased to be a little fellow in a wide world. I disagree with Bilbo. He would rather stay in his hobbit-hole and eat and drink tea all day. To me, that is a boring life. At the beginning of the story, Bilbo hated going on adventures. I love going places I have never been before and accomplishing many things. I want to make a difference, stand out. Not sit back and do nothing like Bilbo did. Tomorrow is never promised to us. I want to live everyday like it was my last day on Earth. So no, I would not want to be, "Only a quite little fellow in a wide world after all."

I would not be pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all."I would like to be an adventurous person in the world,even thought Bilbo is happy about living alone.I would love to discover Earth's beautiful landscapes. I would not like to live a little hole all alone and drink tea and smoke tabacco like Bilbo loves to. I would love to have lots of friends and get married some day. Bilbo may be happy with living a little hole separated from the world alone, but not me. I'm too hyper to sit in silent hole. I never like to be be normal either. I've always wanted to stand out in a crowed. Bilbo may have stepped out of his normal life to help the dwarfs on their quest for gold in the mountains, but if they never came he would still be at his lonely little hole. Bilbo did show a large amount of courage and bravery in his quest, but when will another situation come up when his adventurous side would come out again? I would need more adventures than just one quest for gold. I would never like to be the "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all."

In the end of The Hobbit, Bilbo is pleased to be “only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all.” I could not be content with living the life of a hobbit as Bilbo did because I would want more excitement in my life. Bilbo is happy to live all alone in his little hobbit hole. He is happy with who he is and his quiet, uneventful life. He doesn’t want to change even after he experienced such dangerous adventures. Bilbo had his chance to be important and be admired when he saved the dwarfs. Although I enjoy being alone sometimes and having peace and quiet, I couldn’t live like that all the time. If we just live life in the safety and security of our own home we would miss out on all of the adventures and plans God has for us. I wouldn’t want to live in a little hobbit hole without family and friends. I believe each person is given unique gifts and talents that should be shared with those around us to make this world a better place. For example, you may not be tall and strong, but like the hobbit you may have the ability to be quiet and swift. You can use your own abilities when given the opportunity to help someone else. Making a difference in the lives of others no matter how great or small cannot happen living life all alone as a hobbit. So even though Bilbo is pleased to be “only a quite a little fellow in a wide world after all”, I am certain that I would not be.

In the book,The Hobbit,Gandalf tells Bilbo Baggins the he is"only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all."Mr.Baggins responded by saying he was pleased to be"only a quite fellow in a wide world after all."I disagree with Mr.Baggins,because there is a world full of adventures and new discoveries.I would love to find out them out,but Mr.Baggins wouldn't.Mr.Bigins and I have different views on life;he would rather stay in his hobbit hole,but i would want to go a find adventures and new discoveries. Mr.Baggins doesn't want a role on the adventure,but I would want to be the leader of the journey and take huge responsibility .I would always be grumpy if i was a quite little fellow in this world,but for some reason Mr.Baggins is fine with that.I know that I would only be one person,but I would feel greatness inside me. When you are a part of something special,then you feel like you helped out on that journey.One goal in my lifetime is to make a world a better place,and I won't stop till I do it.In the book I felt like Mr.Baggins was forced to go,and didn't want any part of this journey. In the book,Bilbo responds to Gandalf is that he is happy and alright not having a role in the world,where I would love to have an important role.

In the book, The Hobbit, Gandalf tells Bilbo in the end that "you are quite a little fellow in a wide world after all" and Bilbo replies by saying "Thank goodness!". In the beginning, Bilbo wasn't exactly happy about the dwarves dragging him into an adventure that had nothing to do with him. Bilbo seems very content with staying in his familiar hobbit hole, having the same routines, and not going on adventures. I would not be satisfied with being "quite a little fellow in a wide world", since I aspire to do my best. I couldn't have the same routine everyday, because I would feel like I wasn't accomplishing anything with my life. I want to make my own adventures and experience the world. I am the type of person who likes to express my ideas and opinions. I am not the type of person who keeps quiet and doesn't want to explore and face new challenges. Although you may experience ups and downs in life, you must be prepared to stand up and face your fears. Bilbo was able to face his fears during his adventure, and help defeat their foes despite the low expectations Bilbo had for himself. I want to make a difference in my life and the life of others. I would be disappointed if I was only "quite a little fellow in a wide world".

When Bilbo says that he is pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in the wide world after all" I think that he is happy to be a little fellow. I think Bilbo enjoyed the adventure but he would rather just stay at his hobbit hole. I ,unlike Bilbo, wouldn't have been alright with going back to my house after such a wonderful time. In the beginning of the story Bilbo didn't really want to go on the adventure, but as the story goes on I think Bilbo starts to enjoy the adventure. I wouldn't exactly want to be "only quite a little fellow in the wide world after all" because i would like to experience the world and see new things. Bilbo was the kind of person that would just rather stay at his house and do whatever his normal routine was. On the other hand Bilbo liked going on adventures because of his ancestors, the Tooks. I would've very much enjoyed the adventure. The reason I'm saying this is because I'm the kind of person that likes going to new places and trying new things. Anyways I think that Bilbo kind of enjoyed the adventure. Then again in the book it kept saying how Bilbo wished continuously that he could've just stayed home. Well Bilbo and I are two very different people.

No, I would not be happy to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." The reason why is because if you are only "quite a little fellow in a wide world after all," you are blending in and not getting noticed by the world. Bilbo seemed perfectly happy in his hobbit hole and not getting noticed. In fact, at the beginning of the story Bilbo was quite annoyed that the dwarfs and Gandalf even came to his hobbit hole and disturbed his quiet, peaceful, and uneventful life. That is most definitely not how i want my life to be. I want to stand out, be noticed, and not be afraid to stand strong against all of life's challenges and trials. What kind of difference can you make if you don't even allow yourself to stand out? All around you, people are choosing to live like Bilbo Baggins. They just want to be left alone and not noticed or payed attention to. They don't realize that they can actually make a difference. I mean, look at what Bilbo did! He journeyed through the most perilous and terrifying adventures anyone had ever known, and  faced more terrifying things than some people even experience in their nightmares. What I'm trying to say is, i want my life to be something that will be remembered. My life is a gift. It can be taken away at any moment. Why not live every day like it's your last? Thefefore, no, i would not be happy to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all."

I think that when he said this he meant he is pleased with who he is as well as his size and his life as a small Hobbit. Bilbo is a humble hobbit living in his hole and even though he enjoyed the adventure with the dwarves he likes his normal way of life more. That is what he meant when he said he was pleased to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world." I would also be happy to be "quite a little fellow." People would not expect so much from such a small person. They might be fascinated by my smallness. Other people might even envy seeing life from the point of view on a smaller scale. I think that life as a little hobbit in the wide world would be enjoyable and at certain points exciting. Having tea at four o'clock with numerous guest in my very own hobbit hole sounds like a nice life. Being known as a respectable hobbit with an adventurous past and entertaining stories would be very nice. Being "only quite a little fellow in a wide world" sounds like a nice life to me.

At the end of the hobbit Bilbo says he is happy to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all." Bilbo is happy to not be a part of the world. Bilbo is content living in his hobbit hole. Bilbo may not think it but he played a big role in his adventure. Even though Bilbo manged to go on a great adventure he would still rather just sit at home in in his hobbit hole. I do not agree with Bilbo I would not want to be "only a little fellow in a wide world after all." Unlike Bilbo I would not be happy to be a little fellow in a wide world. I wanna do something that makes a difference. If I cannot make a difference I would at least like to contribute to the world in some way. Many people set goals in life. I would like to achieve all of my goals in life. In doing that I hope I will make a impact on the world.

At the end of the novel The Hobbit or There and Back Again, Gandalf is talking Bilbo and tells him,"You are a very fine person, Mr Baggins, and I am very fond of you;but you are only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all!" To this Bilbo responds by saying,"Thank goodness." I think Bilbo is saying this and is glad that he is only a small fellow in the wide world. I think Bilbo thinks this now because he now understands that he is not just small but also plays a small role in the scheme of life and is glad for this. I think he is glad for as small of a part as his role was it was still a huge task to him. I think this because any larger part in this scheme may have been way to much for him to handle. For me in this role I know that I would most likely want a larger role in the scheme of life to make me feel more important. I also would want this because good things may even become of it but I really have no control in this so it really doesn't make a difference to me for a larger part can also lead to problems such as Thorin, he had a larger role and he died with it. though Thorin died that doesn't mean that a large roles lead to death because for Gandalf also had a larger role and didn't die or get injured. So I think it all depends on your actions really and with that I believe we can make a roles in the scheme of life larger if we just take more action and trust what we are gonna do is right. I think I could handle a larger role but I have no idea on how much I could take. Lastly, I would want a larger role to be remembered by but if I wasn't to get a larger role then it wouldn't bother me to much

When Bilbo says that he's happy to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all", I think I know what he means. I think that he means it pleases him to just be a small part in the grand scheme of things. That-like Gandolf said-all his adventures and escapes were not managed by luck, or for Bilbo's sole gain.He is content with his small role in life. Though personally,I wouldn't be. I want to make a difference for the better. I want to make an impact on the world. You see, Bilbo has excepted ,and is happy with the fact that he is not really a key player. But me, I haven't. I want to be a key player. I want to help people, to just be the reason that the world is a better place(at all).But if that's not God's plan for me I guess there really isn't much I could do. So,back to the second part of the question. I could be happy as a nobody. But I want to be somebody someday and think I would be much happier that way.

Towards the end of The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins realizes that he is content with being "only quite a little fellow in a wide world." Bilbo has gone to the edge and made it out not only alive, but with more than he had before. I would be happy to be "only quite a little fellow in a wide world," but on the other hand, I would find it boring. I want to feel like I have made a difference in someone's life or steered the world in a different direction. To inspire someone is a life changing action that makes you feel like you have done something amazing.

If you are adventurous and daring, you are a hero in the perspective of others. I want to be a hero to someone, instead of the boring lump-on-a-log who is content with their life, only because they have not experienced something far greater. Bilbo is a rare case where he went on an adventure and came back only wanting to be left in peace. If I were Bilbo, I would have continued on many more adventures! However, I do understand why Bilbo would only wish for his little hobbit-hole. After many near-death experiences, I would definately want to be in a calm and peaceful environment. Overall, being "only quite a little fellow in a wide world" is good for some people, but not for me.

What this statement means to me is that he does not think he has done anything important in his life. I think it is very ironic because Bilbo did a great deal in his lifetime, especially when compared to the other hobbits who never left the Shire. Bilbo and I share very different views. I am not content being just a little fellow in the world. I prefer to play a role in the world by being involved in something special or of importance. It would also be important for me to understand what role I play in it. One of my goals in life is to make a difference by serving our country in the military. Although I will only be one soldier, I feel I will be contributing to the greater good. I would not be happy at all to be only quite a little fellow in a wide world. To me when you are part of something special the world is a better place. In the book Bilbo’s response to Gandalf is that he is content to not play an important role in the world, where I want to play an important role.

The Hobbit: Being a Little Fellow

Being "quite a little fellow in a wide world" would have its ups and its downs. Me being so small in a big world would make me feel less important in the world. I would feel as if me doing any thing would have no purpose. People might tend to look down on you. However having such a large world around you might be great. It would make the world seem like there was more to discover. Making a mistake might seem like a less drastic event. Bilbo had a better experience to understand this. His adventure showed him both sides of the situation.I would need to go through that same experience to really know how I'd feel.Until then it's really just a guessing game. Although I see it being a good thing.
The only true experience i have with this is when I changed schools two years ago. I felt like i couldnt do anything to change the fact that i was new in school. However i then started to find new friends in this new "wide world". Although, i wasnt exactly as small as a hobbit.
