There's Nothing New From Old

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind."
      From the quote, I connected various things. The world is evolving every second. No matter what you're doing, it was all planned to happen in those seconds, whether you know it or not. In those seconds, people are taken and added to Earth for a reason. It's not a mistake. Surprisingly, fate is real. It's bigger than us, it controls our every outcome, decision, and choice we make in those seconds. In a way, we are all one person and we are all the same. The things you do affects other lives, as well as yours, it could be massive or atomic. A humans form doesn't matter, they're still the same as everyone else. God and fate has a plan for everyone. Loving or hating someone affects more than yourself, instead it affects everyone around you. There's nothing new from old. Its been this way since the beginning of time.

Connected No Matter What Happens

    In The Five People You Meet in Heaven, there is a very intriguing quote that says, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can a breeze from the wind." To me this means that no matter what one does everyone is connected to each other. To better explain this, a breeze is the wind, therefore you can not separate them. In the same manner that it is impossible to separate a breeze from the wind, one can not separate two people from each other. Even if they never encounter each other, they are still connected in some way, shape, or form. For example, in The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Eddie and Nick never met but, Eddie is still connected to Nick because it was Nick's key that cut the cable and eventually led to the death of Eddie. Even if Nick's key had not cut the cable, they would still be connected because of the fact that the pier that Eddie spent his whole life at was named after Nick's great grandmother. For those same two reasons, Nick's great grandmother, Ruby, is connected to Eddie. Eddie is also connected to Tala and the Blue Man because Eddie took part in the events leading up to both of their death. These are just some of the billions of ways that Eddie was connected to everyone around him. In conclusion, everyone is linked to each other no matter what happens.

Nothing Is Random

     Our lives follow a constant cause and effect chain. For example, if Eddie had not gone out into the street to retrieve his ball, the Blue Man would have never been afraid to hit him, and the Blue Man wouldn't have died in the alley. If Eddie hadn't ran to get his ball, the Blue Man wouldn't have met his fate. All life is connected. Even though we think our lives are separated, they are not. The actions of one person can lead another person to their fate, or what's destined to happen to them. Without Eddie, the Blue Man may have never gone to his Heaven, at Ruby Pier. Once Eddie made it to Blue Man's Heaven, his first lesson was "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions, your life is connected to everyone around you. Your actions today could lead someone to their destiny tomorrow. Every event that occurs influences the next.

“We’re All in This Together”

          To me, this quote means that everything we do affects others. We all correspond with each other. We all have a relationship in some way. For example, if I order a pizza I never even get to meet the person who made it, only the person who delivered it to me. The person who made my pizza doesn’t get to meet me either. However, that person was part of the reason I had something to eat that day, and I was part of the reason he was going to get paid. We helped each other without even realizing it. Everything happens for a reason, and the cause and effect of what happens in your life is connected to everyone, not just you. You can’t separate what happens between people, fate is fate.

 Even small and seemingly pointless things affect the lives of others. For example, if you are running low on cash, but you still want to help someone in some way. You decide to donate to a child cancer charity, but you can only donate a penny. However, what you don’t know is that the child you donated to was one single penny away from reaching her goal and being able to pay for treatment. What you thought was only going to help very little actually made a huge difference. You hardly even realized you were connected to that child; you only thought of it as donating to some charity.

We Are All Connected... Not

    "We are all connected." My response to that statement is probably opposite to most people here. I believe that we are not all connected. I do believe we are connected to a certain extent though.
    When you eat a candy bar, do you really think that has an effect a little boy in Asia? To me, I do not think the two have any correlation at all. They are two separate occurrence's that have two different circumstances on two separate hemispheres. However, the quote "we are all connected", is true in a closed environment.
    Earth, in fact, is not a closed environment. If you were stuck in a room, with no way out, with one other person, the quote applies. If there is one plate of food, and you eat it first, the other person will starve first. Because of your actions, you caused the other person to die first. You are connected to that person. In a closed environment, everything you do has an effect someone.
    My final point is that the quote "we are all connected" is valid on a tiny scale in an open environment. "Some of us are partly connected" seems like a more accurate phrase to use. This is what the quote means to me. To summarize, my opinion is that we are not all connected, in a closed environment.

Life Connections

"That there are no random acts.  That we are all connected.  That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind."

     This quote, to me, means the events we experience in life are events that are supposed to happen.  No event, no matter how crazy it is, is a coincidence.  Every action is like a path.  Reaching the end of that path often uncovers that everything happens for a reason.  All the actions in a person's life , good or bad, pushes them to become the person they are meant to be.  In life we meet or see people that we did not expect.  Expected or unexpected, each time we meet someone they become connected to us.  Sometimes these connections are strong and sometimes they are weak.  No matter the type of connection, it is still connected to a part of us.  For example, an actor in a dance movie you watched can make you want to go out and take a dance class.  Now you are connected to that person even though you have only seen them for a few minutes.  In my eyes everything happens for a reason, it is not a coincidence.  You meet and see the people you are meant to meet that will make you into the person you are supposed to be.  That is what this quote means to me.  In conclusion, every act is for a reason, every person is connected, and no life can be split from any other.    

Because of You I am Me

"There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." From this quote you can take many meanings. To me this quote shows that every person you meet in your life impacts you, and if it wasn't for every person you have met you wouldn't be who you are today. God has an individual plan for everyone, and together it makes the big picture of life. You meet new people every day, and even when you don't realize it they make an impact on you. In some way everyone's life is connected. From the start of our life everything that happens, happens for a reason. Even when we wish something didn't happen, we have to trust that God's overall plan for us is greater than our own. Even when you make decisions that at the time seem to make you happy, such as Eddie getting the ball. They can effect other people in different ways, such as the blue man dying from a heart attack the same day. This quote makes you think about life in a different perspective and you soon realize, in life anything you do could effect someone else. It may effect them in a big way or in a very small way, but it could change them. Just as easily as their actions could change you.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Spoken by Blue Man... "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." Everyone could have a different outlook on this but to me personally, this quote means that you are not going through life by yourself. Even though you may not think so, your actions and decisions affect more than just you. Your life has a set journey and even though it might have the ups and downs everything happens for a reason. We are like a big puzzle. Without all the piece to that puzzle, no matter how small, the puzzle would not be complete. You make an impact on everyone's life you come in contact with and without you there, their life, just simply, would not be the same. God put us here in this position for a reason and to serve a purpose. You should follow the path that God marked for you because that is where you will succeed beyond many expectations. Though you may not like it, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Try to make a difference in the enemy’s life and always be there for them because you never know what they could be going through. You may, in fact, be the enemy in their eyes but God put you in their life for a reason. Follow your dreams and goals because it was set somewhere in your life journey and, who knows, you could always meet people that you were destined to meet. 

Get Connected

The first part of the quote says," That there are no random acts. . ." God has our lives planned out from the day we are born until the day we will die. Everything that happens in our lives, happens for a reason. Take the Blue Man's death for example. To Eddie, who at the time was a young child, the incident where the car almost hit him was of little importance to his life because nothing bad happened to him. For the Blue Man, the incident caused him to have a heart attack and die that very day. Both Eddie and the Blue Man were tied to this event, but it impacted each of their lives differently. 

This brings me to the second part of the quote,"...That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." Sometimes it's the people who we don't really know who have the greatest impact on our lives. A complete stranger can unknowingly change your life forever because they said or did one little thing. For example, when you donate just a few canned goods to a food drive, you may think  that the little cans you donated won't make much of a difference in someone's life; but the person who receives the canned goods are very thankful that they received at least a little food to put on their table. . Our actions can effect others lives in a way that we may never know. Although we may not realize it, we are all connected in some way, shape, or form. 

One Action Affects Another

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate the breeze from the wind” This statement means that everyone’s life is connected in one way or another. Everyone’s life has an influence on someone else’s. An event may occur in your own life that can affect so many other people. They way you act toward an event may affect how someone around you acts and may ultimately changes the outcome of events. So many things you do each and every day directly or indirectly affect someone else’s entire life. For example, one day a man runs a red light because he’s late for work. A girl was going to be interviewed that day for her first job. She was going in the opposite direction of the man who ran the red light. She didn’t see him until the last second and slammed on her brakes. As a result of her slamming on her brakes, she spilled coffee all over her interview clothes. She drove to the building with her shirt drenched in coffee. As she was getting out of her car she saw the man that ran the red light walk in the building where she was headed. She walked in the door and said,“ Sorry I’m late. Do you own the car in the front?”  He did. See, everyone’s life is connected in some way.  Maybe it’s from running a red light because they’re late for work or from slamming on the brakes because they didn’t see the other person coming. Either way, everyone’s life is connected in one way or another. The things you do, the way you act, the responses you give directly impact others each and every day.

Life is Like a Puzzle

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." I believe this quote is perfectly symbolized in a simple yet meaningful simile, "Life is like a puzzle... all of the pieces and experiences happen they way they do to perfectly create a bigger picture." Everything happens for a reason, and affects another life when it happens. I believe this means that everyone is born with a certain puzzle of their life and are destined to impact other's lives whether we realize it or not. Your life has a set fate and is on a set track for a life-long journey. Everything is planned before anything even happens, and there are no sudden opinions that influence change in your life. The whole idea of life is basically a chain reaction... one life stops and another life begins. One act leads to another which leads to another. Every act that occurs does not simply happen to set another off. There is purpose behind every act, a meaning to why it occurred. This quote gives you a perspective you might not have been able to come up with on your own.. that there is a grand plan for the events that happen in your life. You may donate ten dollars to a charity, and that same ten dollars could save someone's life. You may not have known it would do that, but it was carved in the stone of your life all along. All of our actions, whether good or bad, affect someone somewhere, positively or negatively. Mistakes you've made that don't benefit you very much may benefit someone else, in a large or small way. Everything happens for a reason, even if you don't know why. 

Just How Life Works

         The phrase quoted by the Blue Man states, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This phrase can have different meanings to others who have a different outlook on life. In my outlook on life I see this as a prophecy. It tells of how God has brought us to this Earth for a reason not by chance. He knew what my life would be like before I was ever born into this world. He also has us here to show others that not all is lost when you lose a loved ones that he is still a friend. We are not rivals or races of the Earth but yet brothers and sisters through him. Thus, we are not different as the world tells us we are, but equals. I do truly believe I am just another puzzle piece to the unknown mystery novel that has begun to reach it's climax and is about to hit it's falling actions. God has my life planned out for me and I shall follow that path. I may not play a huge part in everyday action but in the long run what I do in this life time will indeed make a impact for the future. That is what the Blue Man's quote means to me.

God's Will

Joseph, the Blue Man, lectures Mr. Edward about how there are no strangers in the world, and how every human-beings’ life intercepts with the rest of their fellow neighbors’. In the story, it says, “No one can separate one life from another any more than someone can separate a breeze from the wind” (Albom, 75). No one can separate a breeze from the wind for the breeze is the wind. By definition, a breeze is a wind at speeds of 3 to 21 miles per hour. Wind is any moving current of air with no limit on the amount of speed. Both breezes and winds are made of the same basic elements; they both are moving pockets of air that give a cooling sensation to the body. Like the wind, people are made up of the same ingredients: a creator, passion, curiosity, love, and sorrow.  These basic ingredients make it possible for all life to affect another.

The Blue Man also proclaimed that there are no random acts in the world.  As a Christian I believe that the Lord knew me even before my parents knew each other. I also believe the Lord helps guide my future. Everyone has a purpose and everything has a reason. People might not know the reason for a loved one dying or why they decide not to get there college diploma at the time. Yet God has a plan for all of us and with God's plans nothing is a coincidence. Eventually we will find our purpose in life and the reasons for all our decisions in this life or our eternal life, like Eddie.  

In my opinion this quote is talking about blessings. Blessings do not have to be volunteer work or donating money.  They can be something small in our daily routines; a simple wave hello to people or a smile to everybody.  These acts can also be something large like sacrificing oneself for another.   We are all humans and therefore connected; what one person does affects someone else, that person does something for someone, and someone does something for you.  Nothing is random because God has a plan for each of us and those plans are woven together like fabric in a blanket. 

Chaos Theory

 The Blue Man says, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This for me means that whatever you do there are always going to be consequences. They could be good or bad. One example from the book is the flashback that the Blue Man shows Eddie. He shows Eddie playing as a child with some of his friends and a ball. The ball goes over Eddie's head and into the street. As Eddie goes chasing after it he doesn't realize the car coming down the street. The Blue Man smashes down on the brakes and jerks the wheel to miss the child. The car skids and the tires screech, but somehow the Blue Man regains control over the vehicle and the crisis is averted. However, the adrenaline from the almost accident left the Blue Man's heart pumping so hard that he gets dizzy and just for a moment drops his head, but it was to late. The next time Eddie saw the Blue Man after that was in his coffin at his funeral. If Eddie hadn't gone into the road without looking all of the heartache could have been avoided. I think this is a good example of how the consequences of our actions can be very harsh, but they can also be wonderful and exciting.

Everybody is Connected Somehow and Don't Take Life For Granted

This quote, to me, means that everybody is connected and that you cannot take anyone's life for granted. Everybody is connected to someone whether by blood, by marriage, common interests, or by a death. In this case the characters were connected by a death. The Blue Man told Eddie that they were connected to each other because Eddie ran out in front of his car. In which the Blue Man died of a heart attack because of it. I feel connected to all the people that I hang out with because we either are blood or have common interests. Nobody has to feel connected to somebody, just as long as they know that in some way they are. In the book, Captain sacrificed his life for Eddie's, in which he told Eddie that he wouldn't leave him to die. He told Eddie that he shouldn't take anybody life for granted. I don't take anybody's life for granted, not even my own. I will sometimes tell people that they should do something meaningful with their lives because they don't ever know how much longer you have to live.
