who are heroes?
My definition of a hero is someone who helps people physically, emotionally or spiritually on a day to day basis. A hero does not have to be someone who stops a crashing bullet train with their bare hands or someone who puts a terrorist, who is trying to blow up a 747, in a headlock. They just have to be a person who touches another person’s life. A hero can be anything from a firefighter to a personal trainer. Heroes can be big or small, short or tall. Heroes feel they have to personally act to make the world a better place. They are not just going to sit back and wait for other people to do it. When a massive earthquake turned the country of Haiti to shambles, heroes immediately went into action. Doctors and nurses abandoned their jobs to go and treat the thousands of wounded victims that had no other help. Countless numbers of people would have died without their service. Most of them even did it without any pay. They are truly heroes.

I agree, and I really like your example of the people going to help in Haiti.
