Also when I think of heroes, I think about our soldiers. No one made them volunteer for the military, it was their choice. Every single day they put their lives on the line for our country. Thats what I call a her0. Other examples of American heroes are Abraham Lincoln, Clara Barton, Ronald Reagan, George Washington and so many more. However, a hero is not always someone who changed our country, but someone who changes lives everyday. Firemen, policemen and astronauts do not always get recognized for their heroism. A hero is someone who takes a stand to defend and protect the people of America. Without heroes, our country would not be the greatest country on earth.

What is a hero?
According to Webster's, the definition of a hero is a person noted for feats of courage or nobility, one who risked or sacrificed his life. In my opinion, a hero is self-less, courageous, and does not care about getting the credit for something they did. What makes someone a hero is stepping up when someone, or our country is in danger. September 11, 2001. The passengers on Flight 93 had heard about the attacks on the World Trade Center and knew hijackers were on their plane. The passengers took the terrorists down and the plane crashed in Pennsylvania instead of its original destination, Washington D.C. The passengers on that plane did not know when they got on the plane that they were going to die, but they were willing to sacrifice themselves, to save many.

I totally agree with this. Yeah there are so many definitions of a hero. I really like how you referred to 9/11 and the soldiers fighting for us.
