Extraordinary People

What is a hero? According to http://www.Dictionary.com, there are four different definitions of a hero. The first is a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. The definition of a hero is different to everyone. A hero can be variety of things for me. Gerard Way once said, “Heroes are ordinary people that make themselves extra ordinary.” I think that absolutely sums up how I feel about heroes. You don’t need to have a cape or wear your underwear over your clothes to be a hero. You can just be yourself. Most people think, “Oh, I can’t be a hero; I’m just one person. I don’t have any amazing superpowers.” Just one person can do many things. Just one person could be the doctor that saves your mother’s life. Just one person could make an elderly person’s day, just by listening to their old stories. Just one person could be the man that throws himself in front of an oncoming vehicle to save your child’s life. Quite frankly, I believe that anyone can be a hero if they just give it a try. Many of us have done heroic deeds, without any thought. You don’t have to become a doctor and save someone’s life to be a hero. The little things count too! It isn’t always about the nature of the act performed, but about the character of the person that performs that act.
