A Hero in my Eyes.

       A hero isn't just a person you see every day, or a celebrity that you think is cool. A hero is someone who means something to you, someone who works hard for something and tries his or her best for everything. A hero to you is someone who loves you, and won't stop loving you. To me, an example of a hero is my late great grandfather. He is a hero to me because he fought in World War II. I believe that any war veteran is a hero. To me, being a war veteran shows bravery and strength. Veterans go off to war for their country and they never know if they’re going to make it back or not, but it’s a chance that they are willing to take. I remember before he died he would always encourage me to do anything I wanted to pursue. He also encouraged me to never give up and work really hard for something I desired. By him telling me this, it made me work even harder because I would always want to make him proud like he made me proud. His death in 2008 was very emotional for my whole family. We knew the time was coming, and yes, it was difficult but we knew he died a great man and a hero to not only me but his country as well.
