A hero is someone who will sacrifice their time without
hesitation, if it means saving someone else’s time of hopelessly searching. A
hero is someone who dedicates hours on end to find answers to the world’s most heart-wrenching
questions. A hero looks beyond the tribulations that come with their job,
because in the end, giving patients a sense of hope is their one desire. A hero
is someone who is willing to shave their head, if it means supporting victims
of cancer. A hero is someone who serves as a selfless being. Oncologists tend
to have a burdensome job, but somewhere in the back of their minds, they know
that their deeds are saving the lives of many people every single day. These
physicians are capable of not only finding cures to the widely-known disease cancer,
but they are also able to give their patients a sense of comfort that cancer
may have robbed them of. Oncologists go hand in hand with my definition of a
hero. Because of them, victims of this deadly disease don’t have to go through
the grief process alone. Rather, they have someone to walk side by side with,
through the toughest of trials. What does it truly mean to be a hero? Try
walking in the shoes of an Oncologist.
I agree! It doesn't matter what kind of job you have, but oncologists sure do have a lot of knowledge and the are heroes to patients with cancer and the families.
