Some people may argue that a true hero must be someone that you know on a personal level; that it cannot be someone you have never interacted with before. I, personally, highly disagree. To me, a hero is someone that inspires the mind. It is someone that provokes you to do your best in all tasks, even when you are feeling lazy or uninspired. It does not necessarily have to be a person that you want to be like in every way, though. For instance, one of my heroes is Nicki Minaj. Do I want to be a rapper? Not at all. What makes her a hero to me is her inner qualities. Nicki Minaj started out with nothing, and is now one of the most awarded female rappers in Billboard history. She does not care about what people have to say about her, and she does not change herself to fit in with society's standards. She's very right brained, which is the side of the brain that allows us to be artistic. She knows she is not the worst, but doesn't brag about being the best. These are all qualities that I pursue to carry out on a daily basis. Of course, we all have days where we are not inspired to do anything. On these days, I tend to think about Nicki Minaj, as well as my other heroes. Did they get to where they were by slacking in school, criticizing others, and putting forth minimal effort? Of course not!
Think about this: could you be someone's hero? You may not realize it, but the way you carry yourself could be inspiring others more than you know.
WONDERFUL!!
ReplyDeleteYou hit it right on the nose! You don't have to know your hero personally. All you really have to know is their "heroic" qualities. For example, my hero (who I wrote my blog about) is a fabulous person in every way, shape, and form. However I don't know her personally because she's been dead for over a hundred years! But does that stop her from being my hero? Of corse not!!
Sorry! I feel like I made this thing all about me! You did point out great heroic qualities. (humble). Is she not FABULOUS!?
Ya, I sorta just rambled over a keyboard! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks, Caitlin! :)
ReplyDeleteThat was REALLY good Nick! That was very inspirational and a really good view on heroes! It's nice to see people with different perspectives on things. Good Job!
