Heros In Disguise
Batman, Spiderman, and Superman are the first things that come to our minds when we hear the word "hero". We think a hero is someone doing spectacular deeds all over the country. In real life however, heros are often overlooked and unseen. The people who inspire us to do the right thing create a hero inside of us just waiting to show love and compassion to other people and to the world. I have given names to these real-world heros that use their time to make others better. The Spare-Changer that uses the change from his last meal to help the needy and unfortunate. The Litter Liquifier who walks up and down highways picking up discarded paper and plastic, not because he has been assigned community service, but using his own time to clean up areas we don't even bother to think about. Academica, the teacher that stays at the school to grade endless papers, readies lesson plans, and write out tests for America's future scientists, engineers, and architechs. Countless heros and their actions are ignored across this nation. It is so easy to overlook a small but heroic action by others and ourselves. Holding a door open or donating for a cancer facility are two of the many heroic things we can do. Try and be a hero next time you see an opportunity and think of the right thing to do. This world is covered by war and conflict and America is its brightest hope. Let our heros in the U.S be an example to us and the world.
