A True Hero In My Heart
Heroes are different to everyone. I do not believe in classifying someone as a hero because of their success or beauty, because that is only temporary. I believe a hero is someone who has done something great as a sacrifice for someone else. A hero always puts others first and thinks of themselves last. They will not be ashamed of doing the right thing. A true hero will make sacrifices. A great example of a hero is my neighbor Mr. Haley. He was a prisoner of war in World War 2 and went through the Death March. He was supposed to leave the camp with a ship but instead stayed behind to destroy evidence and secrets with a few other men. Even through extreme cold conditions with very little clothes and years of torture he never told any secrets. It takes true courage and strength to be as great of a hero as Mr. Haley. Do not praise someone as a hero for just being pretty or smart, but instead for not thinking of themselves first.

That is great and he seems like a true hero
ReplyDeleteAlaina, I really like your point of view. It's true; we need to look on the inside of people and not just the outside.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Alaina. Heroes are different for everyone. They are what people are personally admired and inspired by. And it's the inside qualities that build a true hero, not appearances or temporary accomplishments.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you. Too many people are considered heroes for the wrong reasons when there are people like your neighbor that aren't recognized because of people who are claiming heroism on the petty things in life.
