In my eyes, you do not habe to be famous to be a hero. You just have to have the special heroic qualities. Courage, love, loyalty, and trustworthiness are only a few factors that contribute to heroism.
Just this passed Monday, in my Catholic religious education textbook, I read an interesting story. It was about a class of children in Vietnam. One of the students, a little girl, developed a deadly disease and needed blood. Her other classmates were asked if they would donate blood for her, but only one little boy shared the same blood type as the ill girl. He agreed to donate his blood, so when a nurse arrived and began drawing blood, the nurse noticied that the boy was crying. She asked what was wrong and he said he was not ready to die. Little did he know that he was perfectly safe. Even though he thought he would die, this heroic child gave his blood for his ill classmate.
I feel that this boy from Vietnam was a true hero. He willingly accepted a challenge without knowing what would become of him. He is the perfect example of a hero if you ask me!
What a great example of a hero! I never would have thought a little boy could be such a hero!
ReplyDeleteWow. It amazes me that even little children could can become heroes!
ReplyDeleteThis story also amazed me. It made me think about how selfish people can be. If a young child can be this courageous why can't we.
