The Forgotten Heroes

What makes someone a hero? Well, there are many answers to that question. In my opinion, anyone can be a hero. Not with gigantic muscles or a red cape, but with the mind. Think about all the scientists and doctors who've made medical advances in the cancer field. Thousands of lives are now saved, not because the doctors and scientists defeated a terrible monster, but saved them from diseases by thinking of ways to cure them. The mind is not the only thing that can make a person a hero. You hear stories about how witnesses of car accidents call 911 and try to help the trapped in their cars, when they could have just kept driving by thinking someone else would help. Those people who take a little time out of their days to help others, to me, would be considered heroes. Then there's the kind-hearted people and the true friends. By smiling and having a good input on life really affects the people around you, even if you never know it. They may have a bad home life, or just a bad day and that one simple smile could make them have a new perspective on things. So here's to the unspoken, the forgotten hero's who impact so many lives with just their mind, selflessness, and their kind hearts.

  1. Ms.Lynch, I completely agree with the fact of your resoning. Doctors have over come lots of diseases thanks to their intense research causing lots of lives to be saved. It is true that people usually picture heroes wearing capes, their underware after putting on their pants and/or being muscular, but that is not always true. You made a very clear point of bringing it to your readers eyes. I would just like to say "gracias" for enlightening my eyes with your dashing work..:)
