Undercover Heroes

Heroes sometimes go unseen by the human eye. They do not get upset or discourage from the lack of attention, instead they have happiness within themselves for the way they help people. I think that is wonderful and takes a great amount of humility, which many of us struggle with. They also have qualities like bravery, courage, honesty, cleverness, and sometimes strength. Strength, in my opinion is the least important of these traits unless you are talking about mental strength. When i think of heroes, I think of survivors of sicknesses. They were tested and decided they were not going to give up and that took much mental strength. That also took a fighting heart, bravery, courage, all of which are major traits of a hero. Even after a close encounter with death, they still only get attention from their close and loved ones. You never see their faces plastered on T.V. or on the cover of a magazine because they do not do it for the show. They know the attention is not what they are after, they only want to help others who are going through the same things they went through, which shows more humility. Also, recalling about a time that was painful and unpleasant and then sharing about it is not exactly easy. This brings back horrid memories that they went through and they have the bravery to go back to that ugly place in the back of their mind where they have stored away these memories just to help others. Talk about putting others before yourself, it may not be putting yourself in the way physically, but like I said earlier too much of this is a mental game.People tend to congratulate survivors and are excited for them, but never really realize what they do for their community. Just like superheroes save people and help them out, ordinary people who I classify as heroes do the same. They survived and can share their testimony to people and help them realize their life's worth. The unnoticed, yet grateful, humble, brave, courageous, clever, and strong at heart survivors are the ones our world needs to give attention to. They are the true heroes.

  3. I agree, heroes have to have the bravery to overcome something that could alter their whole life, even if it is not their choice.
