Tangled Together, Like Knots

Isn't it just crazy, how one run-in with a complete stranger can completely change both your life and their life? Take this quote, for example; "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." We are all webbed together. We all impact each other's lives.

You can't erase what you say or what you do. Once it's been said and done, it's final. Once you meet a person, you can't un-meet them. I think this quote means that all things are connected, one way or another, whether it be the small things and big things, major and minor things. Little things you say and do for someone can completely change their outlook on you. Holding the door open for someone, complimenting someone who just so happens to be having a bad day. They will remember you as that respectful stranger who wanted to make them feel better.

And of course there are bad things that happen, whether big or small, something small such as a dirty look or something big like robbery that people will remember you with. In the book, The Five People You Meet In Heaven, the main character Eddie finds out how his actions affected other people. He did something simple and careless like running into the road, and ended up ending a man's life.

Overall, I think the meaning of this quote is that all lives, no matter how well you knew each other, or how simply you met, all connect in the end. We're all tangled together like knots.

Our Connection

The prompt, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." means to me that all people are human.  We all are born with emotions and feelings.  We may lead different lives, but we are really all the same.  We all feel sorrow, grief, happiness, love, and everything that makes us human. We all experience these emotions differently.  People you do not even know or remember can shift your life severely, or they may only change your life a little.  The point is, that however different we may think we are, we are basically all the same within.

The wind is the same thing as the breeze, just put in different words. We are all connected in ways we may not entirely understand, but that in no way lessens the connection we share with one another.  Everything has its purpose in our lives.  Everything you do and everyone you meet plays a role in who you become and who you are.  We should accept that who we are on the inside is what truly makes us who we are.

The People We Meet and the Things We Do

Some have stated,  "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This seemingly simple quote is one that has influence in our everyday lives more than we know. Most of us  live this quote everyday. For example, we live with or deal with a consequence of  a previous action. We live with the reality that all the actions we take, words we say, or anything we do, has the  potential to significantly impact someone's life. Whether it's a smile or a smirk, even our simplest actions, can influence someone's life in a way we can not always predict.

Throughout the cycle of life, we all meet strangers who become friends and friends who become strangers. Each of these people has contributed to our acting or feeling a certain way because of something they did, said, or a feeling they evoked upon us. This holds true for the novel.  For instance, in The Five People You Meet in Heaven, there was a scene where the main character, Eddie, ran out into the street trying to retrieve his lost ball. Because Eddie wasn't paying attention when he ran out into the street, a driver almost ran him over. Afterwards, the driver had a heart attack and died while driving his car due to the scare he got from almost running over Eddie. From that moment on, even though they did not know specifically, Eddie and the driver were connected.  It was the driver's time to die and it was Eddie who played a part in the driver's death. Each of these acts are connected to the other, and they each have a purpose. The fact that neither one of them realized their role in each other's lives is insignificant on the outcome of the impact.

In everyday life, we have to learn to deal with the good and the bad. What some may say with good intention, others may interpret with bad thoughts. What few of us realize is that telling someone their hair looks bad or good has an effect on them either way. For example, as a young child, Eddie's father neglected and abused him. Instead of turning his back on the man who brought him so much pain, Eddie focused on pleasing his father, to the extent where Eddie got a job where his Dad worked, Ruby Pier.  Without this direction, even  after his father abused him, Eddie would not have met his wife. The negative drive from his relationship with his father, drove Eddie to a place where he would find a meaningful relationship with his wife.

There are no random acts. To believe this is to know that what you do in the smallest part of your day may influence others.  There  is an awareness in recognizing that every action invokes a second reaction.  In life, we have to be prepared for the reactions - good or bad.

Dominoes

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This means me is that no matter what we do there is no way to stop fate. What is fate? Fate is the type of connection they talk about in the book, "The Five People you Meet in Heaven". Every decision you make effects another person. Think about it like dominoes, every time one moves it causes one to fall, and that one causes another one to fall, and another one after that. So think of life like a game of dominoes, every time you make a decision, your affecting someone else's life. This has taught me to strive to make good choices so that I can positively impact others and their lives. It also makes me think back on how my past choices have impacted others, but also how others have impacted me as well. To those who have helped me in my life I say thank you, and that I can only hope to help others as much as you have helped me.

One's Fall Is Another's Gain

In life, you meet new people, you lose old friends, but you also make a difference in everyone's life.  In The Five People You Meet in Heaven, the Blue Man tells Eddie "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." From my perspective, this means that any action made by anyone affects another person. Take for instance, you are walking down the street and see a homeless person. You don't know if you should give the person money because you don't know if they are going use this money for good or for bad, but you decide to give him them the money. What you don't know, is that this person has been starving and your few dollars may be what they need to save their life.
Growing up a Christian, I've always been taught that although God has our life planned out for us, we still decide what is to come of our lives and others' lives by the decisions we make. Decisions in life are more important than we feel they are. A small mistake in a person's life could drastically alter someone else's life. I feel that cheating is a perfect example of this. Even though it may have been your mistake to cheat, you caused the both of you to make bad grades when the other person did nothing to deserve what happened. This novel has changed my opinion on the way we live our lives and the decisions we make. The book taught me that before I make decisions, I should carefully think them over.

The Course of Life

The quote, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind" from the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven means everything you do is important and can have an effect on anything or anyone. No matter how small of a thing you do, it can leave a huge mark. Eventually, that mark will cause a ripple, then a wave and people will start being affected because of what the first person did. They didn't mean for anything bad to happen, but it did because all of their actions were connected. People are affected every day from what others' do, and there is a reason for that. No one knows specifically why, but it all happens for the same reason.
This quote has made me rethink of all the brainless and dangerous activities I have participated in during my life. The only reason I don't have permanent damage to my body is because fate didn't want it to happen. People have sacrificed so much so I can be here right now typing this blog and living my life. This quote has made me feel blessed to be alive, but I can't help to also feel guilty for things I have unintentionally caused. I could be a mass murderer and not even realize, until now, what I have done. We shouldn't feel guilty, though, because everything will happen for a reason and nothing can change that.

A Breeze from the Wind

In the story, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, the people Eddie met each taught him important lessons. However, one word of wisdom stands out and could be a clue to help Eddie better understand his existence. The first person Eddie met, Joseph, said, “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.”  That quote, to me, means that God has mapped out everyone’s life, from beginning to end. That would mean that there are no random acts, because God has it all planned. Since there are no random acts, we all, as people, are linked in some way. As seen in The Five People You Meet in Heaven, one story can have multiple sides, with multiple endings, that can lead to and impact other people’s stories. This is how everyone is connected. No one can be disconnected, because we all need someone to give birth to us, thus immediately connecting us directly to one person. Even seemingly simple decisions like which route to take or what food we buy can dramatically affect people in either a positive or a negative way. Even more serious decisions, like voting, can impact a whole nation, even the whole world. Through our decisions, we are instantly linked to all stories and all people, because, like a breeze and wind, we can not be separated.

The Great Reveal

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." To me, this quote means that life is one big chain reaction. Our actions will always effect someone else, whether it is positive or negative. In the novel, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, the Blue Man says,"It is because the human spirit knows, deep down, that all lives intersect." When reading this quote, it makes me think about my choices and actions in a totally different outlook. There are so many people who's lives I may have changed and I didn't even realize it. With just one of my actions, I could have set in motion a whole chain of reactions. By just simply showing a random act of kindness, I could have helped that person in more ways than I could have imagined. The choices we make will create a path for us in the future. Each new day offers us the opportunity to do something to help make a difference. Life passes by so fast, we never really stop to look at how much we have until it's gone. There are so many pieces of the puzzle that have yet to be put together, but once all the pieces are connected, it will reveal the whole picture.

What Life is Truly About

The quote from "Five People You Meet in Heaven" can seem to have many meanings. What I think it means is probably different than what most people do. I think it means multiple things. The quote, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate a life from one another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." means that nothing in life happens randomly, and that what does happen is connecting people. The quote also means that you cannot separate those encounters or lives because they are so connected.

The quote emphasizes that everything happens for a reason, and it is always important. It as well depicts that you cannot destroy bonds between people and that you are also a part of them. For example, if what this quote says is true, then I cannot break a bond between any two people and that they and I are also connected. I think that this quote is meant to teach even the readers a lesson. That lesson would be that everyone on this planet has a reason to be here, and that you are always connected to them. This lesson will hopefully change the way people think about other people. This lesson is a very wise and well thought out statement.

Inevitable Life Connections

Every action that someone performs affects another`s life no matter how miniscule the task may seem. People inadvertently alter others` lives everyday. "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This quote from the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven represents these everyday scenarios perfectly. It explains how it`s destiny for one person to contribute to the life of another person no matter how small or large this contribution may be. For example, Eddie accidentally runs out into the street while chasing an overthrown ball, and narrowly misses being hit by a car. This may have not seemed like such a life altering thing for the child Eddie was, but for The Blue Man, the driver that swerved out of Eddie`s way, it changed his life drastically. The Blue Man wouldn't live much longer after the almost-incident as he would have a heart attack and pass away shortly after due to the amount of adrenaline pumping through his weak heart.
In conclusion, every activity that we do, or sometimes don`t do, affects someone else`s life. Whether it may be a direct or indirect impact to the affected person, their life changes. Everyone`s life is connected some way or another. Chances are, you`ve changed someone`s life without even realizing it, or even vise versa. Just remember that there are no such things as coincidences; Everything happens for a reason.

A Bond

In the Five People You Meet in Heaven, the Blue Man states “that there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life form from another than you can separate a breeze from a wind.” The first sentence,” that there are no more random acts,” means that nothing just happens. Everything that happens is for a reason. This is also means that none of the deaths were random, that they were all for a reason. The second sentence,” that we are all connected” means that by some bond we are all connected. In the book, this was put as how all the deaths of the five people were connected to Eddie. The last sentence is “ that you can no more separate one life form from another than you can separate a breeze from a wind.” In my opinion, this means that if you look at two people they will be connected in some way. The connection can go as far back as when you were younger. In the book, Eddie was connected to the Blue Man by how he ran out into the street to get his ball. When he went into the street, he caused the blue man to wreck his car.  Eddie didn’t know the blue man but he was connected to him by how he caused his death. Eddie and the Blue Man’s situation is a perfect example of the quote. Therefor, “that there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life form from another than you can separate a breeze from a wind” means that life is life. No matter what, everyone is connected to each other. The bond goes thru everybody for a reason.

The Ripple Effect

The quote, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind," from the novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom, means, to me, that no matter what you do in your lifetime it can, and it will always link back to someone else. I feel that this could play out in a variety of different ways. It could be that you saw them across the street once and you really liked their hair or their clothes, so you changed your hair or bought clothes like that because you thought, "Hmm, they look pretty good, so why shouldn't I?" It might also be that you saw them in your favorite TV show or movie and their character impacted your life in some way on a small scale or maybe even quite a large one. They might be your favorite musician or artist and their music or their art shaped the way you listen to music, look at art, or made you want to become an artist of sorts yourself. Or maybe you've known them your entire life and you've grown up with them and when they changed you changed and you just really connected with them. Sometimes you don't even realize how they've impacted your life because it’s so small and miniscule but it ultimately shapes your personality and how you talk, eat, or simply the way your arms fall by your sides.
This quote means that the world is constantly changing and people are constantly evolving and looking to others on how to do that. You're looking to your brothers and sisters and doing what they do to shape the way you want your life to be or how you need your life to be. However, the ways in which you are linked back to people aren't always going to be good. The reason that you are linked back to someone may be because they hurt you in some way or that you hurt them in another. Regardless, it will always happen. You will always be connected to someone. It can be someone you knew and loved dearly or someone you don't remember ever meeting in your life, like in the novel the quote comes from, Eddie meets those five people in heaven. There were people who he had known and loved and who he had never known anything about but a name, or nothing at all. In the end, we are always linked back to one another because we are all human and we all experience life together. This is, quite clearly, the ripple effect of life.

Red String of Fate

The concept posed in Mitch Albom's book, The Five People You Meet In Heaven, is a compelling theory. The argument that we are all apart of a continual and endless domino effect; perpetually being altered by an unmanageable and unruly force of nature.

I'm a definite believer in a predetermined destiny and all the wonderfully confusing things the universe has in store for us. For me, the idea of every human being interconnected is an amazing, ethereal belief. We are small and our abilities are limited, yet, we have the ability to make a significant affect on one another.

In the novel, Eddie and his fellow soldiers acted on a short and egocentric burst of anger and reduce the local village to ashes, not thinking of the possible repercussions. Their one way thinking caused a life to end prematurely.

The quote, "That there are no random acts.  That we are all connected.  That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind," means that we are a singular being. The earth is a foundation in which lives collide and make impressions on one another.

There's a Chinese legend that says that the gods tie red cord around the ankles of people that are meant to meet one another in a certain situation or affect each other in some way. They call it the red string of fate. I think that's the kind of place we live in; a twisted, knotted mess of destiny.

     Maybe we'll untangle it someday.

Nothing in Life is a Coincidence

Everything in life happens for a reason and nothing that goes on from day to day is a coincidence. "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This quote means that everything and everyone in your life has a purpose. It also means that the things you do can affect your life and the people around you's life tremendously without even thinking twice about it. For example, instead of driving the speed limit, you are speeding because you are late to meet your friends at the mall. People speed everyday without even noticing and make it to their destination safely, but the roads are wet and you lose control of your vehicle. This decision does not just affect your way of life but your parents and friends too.
God has your life planned out for you before you are even created, but that does not mean you do not have choices. One choice could change your life very dramatically and a small action can cause a huge ripple affect later on in life. Such as lying about something that is not important and not getting in trouble for it, but then you start lying about things that matter and could cause you to lose people's trust, your job, and even your friends. Even though it started out with a bunch of small things it added up and turned into a big problem. Reading the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven has really given me a whole different perspective of life and how important daily decisions are. It has made me think about the decisions that I have made and also made me realize how even the simplest choices matter.

All Actions Have Reactions

Everything that happens has a purpose. Any action that occurs will effect the world around it, no matter if it is just a leaf falling from a tree. If you try to stop the reaction of the world, the it will be as hard as "to separate a breeze from the wind."
I find that this is a very true statement no matter how you look at it. Whether from the person who caused the action, or the person that is reacting to the action. Just think that in one summer you could have somehow started a chain of actions that started WW3. Or you could have gotten somebody to rethink their life, and that caused them to invent the next evolution in the medical industry.
It's sad though, that even with all the good you could do, you could still kill people and not even know it because of this principle. Almost like how Joseph Corvelzchik, or the "blue man," was killed by Eddie running into the street to grab his ball. These things just happen in life and although we might think we can stop them, we can't.
That's just the way things are, I'm afraid. All lives are connected in some way shape or form. Try to disconnect them and you will find it impossible. All you will do is cause other lives to be affected by your meddling.
This concept from The Five People You Meet in Heaven really changed how I look at life. It is the best book that I have read in the past few years and I encourage everyone to pick it up and start reading.

Everyday

In life there are acts made everyday, and each act happens for a reason each act is connected in some way. Lets say you were an all-star in football and you broke your back you can't play anymore so someone has to take your place and he becomes the new all-star. He is better in every way. He became the best player in the NFL and lived happily. All because someone tackled you and you broke your back. If that happened because it was your fate to break your back just like it was his fate to take your place. Just like you about thousands of other people break there back and are replaced by someone better and become stars. It was also there fate to have that happen to them. All that happened because it was all connected. Everyone from the NFL to a school teacher are all connected in some way or another. Each act can affect someone you may never know. Every life is like another in some way. It may be parents getting divorced or a grandparent dying, even if you dog dies. What all this means to me is that everyone has there own struggle but also have the same struggle as my self.

Things Happen For A Reason

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate on life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." What that means to me is everything we do happen for a reason. Like fate, which means events, are predetermined. The things you do have an affect. It could even change someone's life that you do not even know. Even if it is something small like holding the door for someone or even the big things like helping someone with cutting their grass. That is what makes your life important. You might think you are doing nothing, but you are. Even if you are doing nothing you are effecting someone. It gives you a reason to be happy. That everything you do can make a person you do not know feels great for what you did. Also things you do can be horrible. For example hurting someone because of jealousy. It happened for a reason, jealousy not random at all. Everyone is connected in some way or anther.

The Complex Connection of Life

In our world, one person's actions affect the actions of others. The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom demonstrates this in a fantastic way. The quote, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate a breeze from the wind," shows this perfectly. There are no coincidences in life. Everything happens for a reason caused by you, someone you know, or someone you may have never met. One example of this in the story is the blue man's death, caused by Eddie, the main character. During Eddie's birthday party, he throws his new ball to his brother, who does not catch it. While in pursuit of his ball, Eddie runs in front of the blue man's car, causing him to swerve, panic, and die of a heart attack. The blue man died because of Eddie's actions. This further illustrates that all actions are connected. Eddie's own death is an example of this concept. He sacrificed himself to save a girl. Without Eddie, the girl would not have survived the accident. All actions, even if they seem unimportant, affect someone in some way.

Fate Will Find A Way

Fate. Fate is the development of events beyond a person's control, regarded as determined by a supernatural power. In the novel, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, the whole story is exactly that. Everything that happens, happens because God chose for it to happen.
"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind."
To me, this quote is just another definition for fate.
In the story, Eddie threw his ball into the road, and on his way to retrieve it, he ran in front of the blue man's car. The blue man already had an unhealthy amount of anxiety, therefore causing him to panic. He then swerved into the middle of the road, causing him to bump into two other vehicles. This resulted in him having a heart attack. Eddie tells the blue man that it should have been him who died, but the blue man tells him that it wasn't his turn yet. The blue man died, so Eddie could live. Even though they were both basically strangers, they unknowingly had the biggest impacts on each other's lives.
This brings me to the conclusion that no matter what, we cannot change fate. God has a plan for each and every one of us, and no one knows it yet. Everyone that has ever once entered your life, has made some type of impact on it, whether it be positive or negative. We are all connected in one way or another, somehow, in someway.

Life is Connected

Life is Connected
Life is one large connection of events and people that lead to where you are today. People sometimes can affect someone else that can affect them for the rest of their lives, even if they didn’t mean it.
The quote “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind,” takes my thoughts to unfamiliar depths of perception. This makes me think of a web that connects everyone and all acts to each other. It makes me feel like  whatever happens to me is intended, even if it is losing a game against a friend or being late for a class. I feel like I don’t have much control over how I will die or how my life has came to this moment, and that everything, even signing up for this class, is made to affect my life in the long run.

A life could be spared by a faulty clock, making somebody late for a plane they need to catch, which crashes later and no one survives, making them seemingly chosen to survive. The quote makes me feel obliged to talk to people and get to know them and try helping them improve the “web of life” and cheer up people around them. I feel that people you get to know are also a large connection of the web of life making some bonds stronger than others. You may wish to flee from certain people, but if you know them, they can stick with you in your head, and removing them entirely is impossible -  “That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” However, the people around me have taught me some of the most useful lessons of my life. They have shown me how the world is connected, even through life or death, and how people are connected to us and around the world. In the end, the quote makes me feel further connected to the people around me, and it makes me wonder how my life will turn out.

Everything is Connected and Always Will Be

“There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind,” Mitch Albom. What does this mean to me? Alike most people this began wild thoughts and scenarios in head. Rather if it’s true, or applies to me, but most importantly rather I can prove it correct or not. I tried several things, asking people what they thought and their wildest experiences. Researching other people’s findings of this. And by the end of it I, myself was identifying hundreds of times this has happened to me.
This book has taught me something that I not once ever thought about by myself. This book has changed my entire life, opened my eyes by that one aspect. Every I do, everything I say I now know that it could affect everyone else s lives even if I barely know them. Personally that can kind of be a little pressuring. But who wouldn’t be pressured by that information.

It means a lot to me. It is something that will impact my life dearly forever. The entire book means a great deal to me. The Five People You Meet in Heaven is a great life changing book that I recommend for anyone.

We are all in a Circle of Connections.

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind."

This quote makes me think on a different level, that we are all connected. We all interact with many people, so we are in a circle of tangled connections. It is like a virus, it will spread, causing more and more connections over everyone. What this means to me is that even the little things, like opening doors for someone could help them, making a connection. The same concept goes with doing negative things. Doing negative things would impact other people's lives negatively, but they would happen for a reason. Eddie caused the blue man to die because of his actions. Eddie made a negative impact, but it still happened for a reason. Everything happens for a reason, positive or negative.
Saying that you cannot separate one life from another is very true. Every action you do will probably impact someone's life, so it is basically impossible to separate lives. Just like separating a breeze from the wind, you can't do it, and you never can do it.

Links of Life

There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.”
Reading The Five People You Meet in Heaven has caused me to believe that coincidences do not exist. That we are all connected in life. For example, in the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Eddie pushed Amy out of the way to save her. Even though she was a stranger he gave his life for Amy. The book The Five People You Meet in Heaven states, “Sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, you’re not really losing it. You’re passing it on to someone else.” The commander said he sacrificed his life, so Eddie could save other people’s lives in the future. The commander happily gave his life to save Eddie, which in turn saved hundreds of other people’s lives. This proves we are all connected to one another.

The quote states, “That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” This means that all life is intertwined with each other. An example of this in the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven is how Ruby, who died before Eddie was born, effected Eddies whole life. Even Joseph, the blue man, was connected to Eddies father since Joseph would occasionally play cards with Eddie’s father. In the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven the blue man stated, “Strangers are just family you have yet to come to know.” This statement claims everyone you know and do not know are intertwined through life’s webs. Through this the links of life are made.

The Connection of Every Soul

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind."

This idea stated in Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven has a great and beautiful meaning. This quote creates a complex idea that no matter what you do, no matter how small or insignificant you think your life or actions may be, you are always affecting another's life. The simplest of actions can have an enormous impact on someone else. An example of this would be how the protagonist in Albom's masterpiece, Eddie, missed the baseball that had just been thrown to him and mindlessly runs out into the road to retrieve it. Eddie was completely oblivious to exactly what he had just caused and continued to play ball without a care in the world. Take this story from another angle, however, and you see that the boy's actions caused the Blue Man to swerve out of the way to avoid hitting the young boy with his car. The adrenaline from this close call caused the man's heart to fail him, provoking his ultimate demise.
There are people in your life that will cause change and important moments to happen without you even realizing what they've done. Life is mysterious and confusing and at some points, completely overwhelming. The people that come into your life are there for a reason, whether you know why or not. Everyone being linked together shows how we need to watch what we say and do because you never know how your words and actions will be taken by someone else.
Thinking about this quote makes you wonder who's life you've impacted and if you've made a positive or a negative difference in that person's life. To me, this idea is one that everyone should think long and hard about at some point. Promoting positivity should be encouraged and before we can change someone else, we have to change ourselves. Every person is capable of changing and saving lives, but at the same time, we are also capable of tearing others down. It all depends on your outlook on life and how you treat certain situations. We absentmindedly impact others on a daily basis, not knowing if one day we will be one of the five people they meet in heaven.

Everyone is Connected

The prompt "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind" means that everyone is connected in someway. No one is ever forgotten or not involved in the bigger picture. One example is when Eddie was little he was throwing the baseball with his friends. One of his friends had thrown the ball over his head and Eddie ran out on the street to get the ball. At the time he ran out on the street a car was coming toward him and had to swerve around Eddie. The man inside was The Blue Man who had a bad heart and the adrenaline was pumping his heart crazy which eventually gave him a heart attack. If Eddie had not ran out on the street or had waited a few seconds then the car could've passed and The Blue Man would've lived. Eddie just by walking out in the street killed someone. Even though he did not mean to he had done it. Another example that everyone is connected is the captain had killed himself to save Eddie. This may be an unusual connection but it had happened because the Captain shot Eddie in the leg to prevent him from burning in the fire. The Captain went to go check ahead and got blown up by a mine. Many have sacrificed for Eddie's life. Even he didn't realize it at the time The Blue Man, The Captain, Ruby, Marguerite, and Tala had all risked something for Eddie or had taught him a lesson.

Every Life Intersects

As a young  girl, by the name of Tala, sat hidden deep inside a supply hut, she heard the footsteps of several men. Tala became very nervous. She tried to remind herself what her mother had said about how she would be safe in the hut. It seemed to not work, for all she could think about was how unsafe being in the middle of a war could be.
Oblivious to the hidden child, the men began to raid the hut of all useful supplies. Even with the men being unaware of the girl, the men's actions would affect her life completely. The fire that the men would light to burn down the hut would kill her. In return she would affect Eddie, one of the men in the group, as well. He would see her in the fire and try to help, however fail due to being shot. She would cause him to have a limp for the rest of his life from trying to save her. She would cause him to work at the job he hates for the rest of his life so he can protect children. Since he couldn't protect her, protecting children became is lifelong job. She would also cause his death many years later, as a result of him doing his job.
All these things happened without even knowing each other's names. The Five People You Met in Heaven cites, "That there are no random acts. We are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This means that all of our lives intersect and each step we take can have great effect on others without us even knowing.

WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT AND THE SAME

The quote “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind” means that every person changes something. It also means that all living things are linked in some way. That’s what it means to me.
The novel was a very good one and helped me understand how everyone is bound together in some way. I believe this helps people understand that everything that happens is for something. The quote means a lot to me because I cannot find a reason why my father recently Contracted cancer like eddies wife did. This saying suggests that we are connected, going around changing everyone's life for good, or bad.
The quote gives the idea that no one is different. The saying helps readers understand the theme of the whole story, “That there are no random acts.” I think this means we live believing we have different stories, different lives, but we do not exist for nothing. People try to change things and live there own life. People believe there is no real reason you exist and its just to live? Why would something or someone create intelligent live for it to have absolutely no meaning or reason? We are all just humans and should be united not separated.

For every action there is a equal and opposite reaction. Newton's Third Law of motion, and we have to stop believing we are all not connected

This quote is moving, that we are not different, that we cannot be separated from one another. I am convinced the quote is helping Eddie in the book understand, nothing happens in life that's an accident. The quote shows him how that his life meant something. The quote "you can no more separate a breeze from the wind", saying how we are different and yet the same.

Random Acts...There Are None

The following quote means a great deal to me as I've read it a million times now: "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no longer separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." I interpret this quote as a positive thing. To me, it means that people come and go and you cannot choose who does and who does not- not entirely a bad thing. If they're meant to be in your life, they will be and if they are just a passing phase then they will be just that. Hopefully, the people we run into will teach us things we need to know such as not trusting too easily, or not falling in love so fast. We never know what is in store for us. This is simply apart of life.
Another part of life is learning lessons, and moving forward with them in mind. Unfortunately, there are some lessons we will not learn until time has run out, such as the character Eddie from the novel And Then There Were None has experienced.
Anyhow, as I start my freshman year I will encounter many new people, good and bad, and learn many new lessons, whether they stay apart of my life or not. I understand that they will all play a role in my life, teaching me things I will need to move forward. The lessons will be forever valuable to me. I also understand that I cannot control this aspect of my life, nor can I separate a breeze from the wind.

No Separating a Breeze From the Wind

The Five People You Meet in Heaven was a very powerful book that I greatly enjoyed. The quote “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind” to me, means that every person is in some way connected. It also means that all lives and experiences are linked together.

The novel was very thought provoking and made me realize how everyone and everything is all tied up together. I believe this quote is strong and helps readers understand that everything that happens is for a reason. The quote puts many ideas into our heads about life. One idea is that we are all the same, going through life day by day as one. The quote gives the idea that not a single person is different from another. The prompt helps readers comprehend the theme of the whole story, “That there are no random acts.” I think this means we spend our days believing we have different stories, different lives, but we don’t. People try so hard to make a life people will remember them by that they don’t realize everyone else has the same life stories being told. Every person has accomplished a goal, made someone laugh, experienced a tragedy, done something wrong, but we are all human and we all go through the same everyday life experiences.  All lives are connected, and we have to stop thinking otherwise.

This quote has compelling words, that we are no different, that we cannot be separated from each other. I am convinced the quote is helping the main character in the book understand that nothing that happens in life is an accident. The quote explains that he should not believe his life was any less meaningful then someone else’s life. The writer chose his words precisely in the quote "you can no more separate a breeze from the wind", meaning the same goes for two individual lives that cannot be divided.

The Network of Life

“That there are no random acts.  That we are all connected.  That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.”

This quote means that all lives are connected. Every decision you make could have a huge impact on someone else's life.

A lot of people make decisions without thinking about how they may affect others. For example, someone might decide to drink and drive, which could cause a fatality affecting not only the victim's family, but also the driver's.

In the book, The Five People You Meet In Heaven, Eddie receives a baseball for his birthday. He and his brother, Joe, are playing with it when Eddie throws it too hard and Joe can't catch it. Eddie runs after the ball and into the road right as a car passes. The driver swerves to miss Eddie. The driver, the Blue Man, has a weak heart due to silver nitrate and the adrenaline causes him to drop his head momentarily and collide with the bumper of another vehicle. His forehead begins bleeding as he steps out of the car to examine the damage. He slumps to the ground and his heart fails. The Blue Man died because of Eddie's careless actions.

This story makes me think of how my actions and words can affect other people's lives. People never seem to realize how involved they are with the lives around them.  If my words and actions are negative, the effect on other people will also be negative. On the other hand, my positive words and actions will benefit others. We should choose our words and deeds wisely because every life is connected.

The Reason for These Things

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." To me, this means that everyone’s life is connected in some way. Every experience you have with a person is nothing of a random act. Whether you smiled at stranger or spent a whole day with your grandparents, it all happened for a reason. That one little action you may have done can resulted in someone else doing that same action and the cycle continues. This illustration can be compared to a chain reaction. Because you did one thing it caused for other things to happen.
We can find this quote in the novel, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, when the Blue Man brings back to Eddie’s mind a childhood memory of an encounter with each other; Eddie runs out into the street to get his ball, when the Blue Man is driving and almost hits Eddie. One thing Eddie didn’t realize is that this impacted the Blue Man’s life incredibly. It resulted in the loss of his life. This just comes to show that lives are connected. Some connections result in happy endings and others in tragic endings, like this one.
To me, this quote also means that everything you do has a reason and that all things happen for a reason. For example, maybe that party you wanted to go to but couldn’t because you were stuck in doing homework, happened for the better and for a specific reason. God always has a plan and makes things happened for his reason. You may not think much of these little actions, but behind each and every one is a surprise that we aren’t aware of.

Fate

What exactly is fate? Fate can be defined in many ways. Mitch Albom defined fate very well in his book The Five People You Meet in Heaven. In the book the Blue Man tells Eddie, “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” (Albom 48). Though the book does not state this as being a definition of fate, it still is a great definition of fate. To me this quote is a perfect definition of fate. We are all connected and everything we do is because of fate. One day in 2009, I had an unforgettable run-in with fate. I was in a movie theater and I started choking on a piece of popcorn. All of the sudden, a random woman came up behind me and performed the heimlich. I think of that day whenever someone talks about fate. It shows that all life truly is connected and nothing is random.

The Ripples of Action in Life

In life, our actions have an effect on everyone they remotely touch. For example, one's words about someone could be spread to them by people that overhear. This is one instance of the quote, "That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." To me, this simply means that our actions have limitless effects in a manner similar to the ripples in a pond. Throwing a rock into a still pond causes ripples to push outward and they exert a force upon whatever they touch. That is a way to interpret human actions. One action leads to a reaction which leads to a reaction, and that can continue on for a good while until the action or words lose their original power. If I do wrong towards somebody and they fume about it and vent to their friends, that can spread to people who were never involved in the situation and dent people's reputations. To put it another way, human lives are pieces of debris on a body of water; they come out of nowhere, are affected quite often by ripples (most of which aren't desired by the debris), and leave the pond, often without warning. Everyone in the same area are, as we would say, in the same boat as each other, so we can sympathize and relate to the reactions of those who are affected by things. To me, the quote from The Five People You Meet in Heaven essentially means that humanity is connected, and our actions affect more people than we think.

Are We Connected to Strangers?

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind," what this means to me is that you cannot separate our lives. Whatever, you do today may have an effect on you tomorrow. The word fate comes in to mind when l think about this quote. Fate means the "development of events beyond a person's control." Everything in our life happens for a specific reason. When something happens you cannot change it because you didn't like the outcome of that situation. The outcome of any good or bad situation was meant to be and you, or anybody else cannot change that. The cause and effect of what happens is connected to everyone and not just yourself. So, once something happens its not just connected to you its also connected to somebody else in the future. Fate is fate and you cannot separate what happens to yourself or others. As I make any decision in my life, I need to think about what will happen as a result. My life could impact someone else's in every good or bad decision I make.

The Reasons things go the way they go

The Reason things go the way they go

Antonia Danna

“That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” What that means to me is that everything happens for a reason right or wrong. Some things that happen in life are great but some are tragic. Many people that have a tragic experience often ask God why rather than asking him to give you the strength to move on. Everything happens for a reason you will learn from it. Here is an example say you got kicked by a horse well now you know not to stand behind them. But back to the prompt there is nothing that happens in your life that is pointless everything is for a purpose. Maybe you plans got cancelled for the better, maybe if you did go to your friends when it’s raining you could have gotten killed in a car accident, but then again maybe you wouldn’t have but we will never know.

No matter what you do it will affect someone else. Like the quotes say we are all connected. Even if you do nothing it affects someone. So just remember when bad things happen it’s not the end because if it not ok it’s not the end.

There is Purpose to Life

In the book, The Five people You Meet in Heaven, Mitch Albom states, “That there are no random acts.  That we are all connected.  That you can no longer separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from a wind.”  My interpretation of this quote is that people come and go for specific reasons and that there is a purpose to the order of events that have occurred in our lives.  During the narrative, Eddie continued to work at Ruby Pier for over 60 years to protect children. He fulfilled his purpose on earth when he sacrificed himself for the wellbeing of the young girl.  Eddie was meant to be at that place and that time when the ride detached and was headed for the girl.  This shows that our actions can impact another life, even if you do not know that person.

People do not realize how many others their decisions can affect.  They usually don't think of the cost of their actions before they act and that can change another's life in either a positive or a negative way.  In the book, the Blue Man went for a drive when Eddie's ball rolled into the middle of the road with him running after it.  Eddie's action ended up getting the Blue Man killed; he did not think about how that would affect anyone around him.  However, you can compare one's interaction with another as you can compare a breeze and a wind.

The Circle of Life

"That there are no random acts.  That we are all connected.  That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." To me this quote means that everything happens for a reason, whether it's good or bad it was meant to happen and it affects others.

Life is a circle of events.  Everyone's thoughts and actions tend to affect others' thoughts and actions.  This is a chain of events that affect some in big ways, some in small ways and some in ways they may never know about.

Thinking back on events in my life makes me hope I make good choices that will impact others in a positive way.  Also, it makes me realize that everything happens for a reason, good or bad, and that some things are out of our control.  We have to realize there are no random acts where we stand alone.  What we think are random acts are actually events that can affect the lives of others.   We never know where people are in their lives and what they need at that moment.   Sometimes a simple hello or nice gesture can turn someone's life around for the better and we may or may not ever know the ripple effect we made on that person.  This ripple effect is what I like to call the circle of life.

The circle of life provides us with life lessons that we all must live by in order to survive together.  Things we do greatly impact each other and therefore, as Rafiki says in "The Lion King", “Ah yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.”  Hope we all learn from it, Hakuna Matata!

A Breeze in the Wind

From the Blue Man, Eddie learns, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected." This quote means to me that everything happens for a reason and that people are much more involved in others lives than they realize. Something you do that you may consider mundane could cause a ripple effect and end up changing another person's life. Of course this effect does not have to be on such a big scale. It could be as simple as holding a door for someone, who then in turn helps an elder across the street. However, this effect can be negative too, so give some forethought to your choices. Small acts, such as these, can show the impact we have on others.
This all fits with what Eddie will teach the little girl he saved. We all have our own stories, but all stories are one. All people's stories constantly overlap and touch. All people's lives are connected and intertwined. Something that seems random may be the effect of overlapping stories. For example, when Nicky's story collided with Eddie's, a lost key became deadly. I do believe that God has a plan for everyone and that nothing happens without a purpose. While some things that happen may make us sad or angry, in the end there is always a reason. Maybe we will never know that reason. Maybe that reason will find us later in life.
The second part of the quote says, "That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." I think this means that deep inside we are all human, and no one is more or less important. We are all part of one big picture. This quote actually reminded me of song lyric from one of my favorite songs. " A wave tossed in the ocean, a vapor in the wind." You cannot separate a wave from the vast ocean. Just as you cannot separate one life from billions. You do not know where one starts and another ends. It is very similar to the wind. Just as you cannot see or touch the wind, you cannot see or touch the connections between people. However, you can sometimes feel the connections, just as you might feel a breeze in the wind.

Pieces of The Puzzle

“That there are no random acts in life. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate the breeze from the wind.” To me, this means that everything we do, every word we say, has an effect. It may be miniscule and insignificant, or colossal and life changing. No matter what it is, everything has a consequence. None of our lives would be the same if one person were taken out. Though we may not know them, they have affected someone’s life, and that person another’s and so on. It is easy to believe we are insignificant, considering the size of the universe. It is easy to believe that if we never existed, everything would be just the same. These things are false. We think that we live not making a difference in the world when, in reality, we make all the difference. At one point or another, every one of us have affected someone else. Something as simple as a smile or holding open a door. Even a stillborn child can make a difference. We are all pieces of a puzzle and numbers of an equation. The puzzle can never be complete without all of its pieces and when one number is removed from an equation, whether it be 150 or .150, the answer of that equation will be different.

We Are All One

I strongly believe in the quote, “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” Many examples could be used to prove this, such as something as simple as an injury, dropping money, or even maybe a compliment. A person could be very passionate about a sport, but almost everyone suffers from an injury doing the sport they love. In fact, the injury could be life changing, and because of this, that person or someone in touch with them may feel the need to help prevent anyone else from going through the same pain. So just because of this injury someone now has a job, and others are being kept safe from most of the dangers of that sport. If you dropped some money, even if it weren’t that much, you would feel as though you were having a horrible day, but say a stranger found that money, maybe they were in desperate need for at least a few bucks. You may have never met this person before but you have just unknowingly gave them your money, and without you they would have never got that extra few dollars. The same would go for a compliment. You may not realize it but a compliment, even to a random stranger, could change their mindset. That person that you had just complimented may have been having second thoughts about life, but maybe your compliment will make them feel worthy to be alive or simply just brighten someone’s day. To you that may have just been a random act of kindness but to them it could have meant everything.

There is no such thing as random

The dictionary defines the word random as “lacking a definite plan, purpose, or pattern.” However , when referring to people's lives, there is no such thing as random. To me, the quote, “… that you can separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind” means that every decision you make affects somebody else’s life and that their decisions affect your life.                             For example, in the novel The Five You Meet in People Heaven, Eddie meets the blue man whom he unknowingly killed by running in front of his car and causing his already weak heart to fail. At the time, Eddie had no idea that he had affected somebody’s life. This fact makes me extremely curious to how many people’s lives I have impacted without knowing. The smallest decision that I make like getting in a car or going to get the mail could severely compromise my self or another person to me, the thought of what could happen is both terrifying and intriguing. To explain, the thought that I could hurt somebody or mess up their life with and ordinary action is pretty scary ,but makes me curious to how I have impacted other people in my life time at the same time. I love this quote because it makes me think about something I would never otherwise think about. I can not even begin to explain how deeply this quote makes me think and it fascinates me that I will never really know how many people’s lives have been changed by mine.
The quote,"that there are no random acts. That we are all connected.'' means that no matter what fate connects everybody's lives together. To further explain, in The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Ruby's husband built an amusement park and named it after her, Ruby Pier, as a gift. Eddie worked as at Ruby Pier for a very long time, but he could not have worked there without Ruby Pier being built in the first place. So, although they did not know it,both Eddie and Ruby's lives were connected. It is the same for everybody else's lives, for example, if my grandparents had never met I would not be here, to me that is an example of fate connecting two people's lives. Without fate, nobody's life would be as it is or the same as how it would have been.
To conclude, both of these quotes explain the concept of fate without a flaw. It is hard to remember that your actions affect other people and that without fate you might not be here right now. These quotes both intrigue and terrify me in ways that I do not fully understand. I hope that everybody appreciates the message that these two quotes put out as much as I do.
