"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind."
To me, this quote is just another definition for fate.
In the story, Eddie threw his ball into the road, and on his way to retrieve it, he ran in front of the blue man's car. The blue man already had an unhealthy amount of anxiety, therefore causing him to panic. He then swerved into the middle of the road, causing him to bump into two other vehicles. This resulted in him having a heart attack. Eddie tells the blue man that it should have been him who died, but the blue man tells him that it wasn't his turn yet. The blue man died, so Eddie could live. Even though they were both basically strangers, they unknowingly had the biggest impacts on each other's lives.
This brings me to the conclusion that no matter what, we cannot change fate. God has a plan for each and every one of us, and no one knows it yet. Everyone that has ever once entered your life, has made some type of impact on it, whether it be positive or negative. We are all connected in one way or another, somehow, in someway.
