Fate

What exactly is fate? Fate can be defined in many ways. Mitch Albom defined fate very well in his book The Five People You Meet in Heaven. In the book the Blue Man tells Eddie, “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” (Albom 48). Though the book does not state this as being a definition of fate, it still is a great definition of fate. To me this quote is a perfect definition of fate. We are all connected and everything we do is because of fate. One day in 2009, I had an unforgettable run-in with fate. I was in a movie theater and I started choking on a piece of popcorn. All of the sudden, a random woman came up behind me and performed the heimlich. I think of that day whenever someone talks about fate. It shows that all life truly is connected and nothing is random.
