Random Acts...There Are None
The following quote means a great deal to me as I've read it a million times now: "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no longer separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." I interpret this quote as a positive thing. To me, it means that people come and go and you cannot choose who does and who does not- not entirely a bad thing. If they're meant to be in your life, they will be and if they are just a passing phase then they will be just that. Hopefully, the people we run into will teach us things we need to know such as not trusting too easily, or not falling in love so fast. We never know what is in store for us. This is simply apart of life.
Another part of life is learning lessons, and moving forward with them in mind. Unfortunately, there are some lessons we will not learn until time has run out, such as the character Eddie from the novel And Then There Were None has experienced.
Anyhow, as I start my freshman year I will encounter many new people, good and bad, and learn many new lessons, whether they stay apart of my life or not. I understand that they will all play a role in my life, teaching me things I will need to move forward. The lessons will be forever valuable to me. I also understand that I cannot control this aspect of my life, nor can I separate a breeze from the wind.

Very insightful, especially coming from somebody of this age group. Cleary well thought out and nicely said. Nice work! Wish my 9th graders were so thoughtful.
